It is so awesome that historic travels is amazed by things. He likes like me. I am interested in the Britannic, the Olympic and Titanic as well. Is a shame that titanic's railing is gone
It doesn't matter what it is, there will be dislikes. There's dislikes on videos of returning soldiers being re-united with their kids. Deaf people hearing for the first time after a cochlear implant. You name it. Some people who have no joy in their lives are angry when they see someone not being miserable like they are.
His family is so wonderful for encouraging his enthusiasm for his interests. This type of family environment is my life goals for my family and how I wish to raise the children. I’m envious of his presents. He’s so lucky.
For sure thought he was 19, I was just thinking about that a couple days ago, especially because he's in his bedroom and his sister is in some of his videos at his parents house, it only made sense. But either way I'm surprised he's 30, looks good for the age
Hey Rachel, I had such a fun time watching this video!.... And Happy 30th birthday Sam! 🎂 🎊 This is all so cool & amazing! So nice to get a glimpse of the love in your family.... It's such a blessing! Thank goodness there was no "Scotch Tape" incident this time! Lol! 🤣 Sorry Rachel I couldn't resist! I received a little piece of TITANIC this week too! My wife knows my love for the ship so she found a commemorative coin with a piece of coal in the center of it from TITANIC. It came with authenticity papers also. She got it for me as a anniversary gift! So great of her! I've got my little TITANIC display going on in the hutch now... I have 2, 3rd. class White Star Line replica cups, & my TITANIC coal. I'm awaiting my Lazer printed Titanic and Nomadic models to go along with it for the display! I guess Sam and I are lucky & blessed to have family to feed our TITANIC/White Star Line addictions! 😎👍
Wow 😳 those are some amazing relics!!!! Happy birthday Sam, and those presents 🎁 🎁 are on point! Good job Rachel 👏. Owning anything from the Olympic class ships is rare and amazing. Welcome to the 30 club Sam!
Awww so sweet Happy 30th to Sam 🥳🎂 What a great sister you are Rachel 😊 Sam looked aboustely stoked with his gifts You made it a birthday he will never forget I'm sure 😊
Both the wooden panel & decking could be used as a base to place a model of the ship for which the artifact originated from. Definitely would tie it all together once again. Great gifts. 😜👍👍 This is for Rachel, did you notice Lego forgot the red white star line flag? I just made my own today was pretty simple to make and now makes the whole ship complete.😇✌
thats so awesome...if anyone deserves a part of these great ships its you...for keeping the memories alive... happy birthday....hope for more years of your channel also
Hi Rachel.. WOW - Amazing gifts!!! I'm surprised Sam wasn't on the verge of crying with happiness. I was 😁😁 Even the panel of wood your mom and dad got. Amazing artefacts to have!! REAL artefacts - not replicas. The decking..the hull/pen😮😯 And to spend so much time, searching for the perfect gift... Jeeez - I could go on and on lol... All in all - amazing gifts!! Happy 30th birthday Sam 🥳🎂🍻🚢🎉🎈
That is so amazing that you got that Olympic artifact. Fun fact I actually attended the 100th anniversary event in Deerborn Michigan at the Henry Ford it was incredible and I ended up getting the largest piece of coal ever recovered from the titanic so I now have that artifact. It has the certificate of authenticity and everything
I attended a little conference about the Titanic in the Caroline Kennedy Library in Dearborn Heights about the titanic and I was appalled how many inaccuracies about the titanic there were. It was someone talking about Michiganders onboard.
A very happy boy with his toys! Someone knows how to make him happy. A visit to the White Swan in Alnwick is called for now. Not only are there many parts of Olympic in its fabric and fittings, but the Castle was used for Harry Potter. It's in a nice rural part of England too. The drilled hole on the face of the decking is a recess for a bolt head or a nut. There wood be a round plug of wood on top filling it flush to the deck. The bolt shank protruded through the smaller hole on the back. The spaces between the planks would be filled with okum- basically string onto which hot tar was poured to create a seal. I've been on my knees picking okum all day, miles of the bloody stuff. Luckily we did it in fine Spring weather and we got a couple of crates of out dated fizzy drinks ( the unsaleable stuff like Diet Irn Bru and Diet Pepsi ) We used bronze tools. I've no idea why bronze, but its what the bosun had. I supplied two tea pots for the tar, onto which a long handle was bolted. The spouts were perfect for pouring tar into the seams. I spent a day with a Pole cutting and welding the bolts to the deck onto which we later drilled and bolted the decking. This kept us out of mischief cos the deck was steel sheeting which was anything but flat. The steel sheet was all per modern MCA regs, and I've no idea if these older decks were just wood. The pole was quite a lad, his English was poor, so we used German and Russian for numbers ( Russian up to 8 cos it's all I could remember ), some basic English, and cos he had a sense of humour, and because I knew he couldn't understand a bloody word of it, I used French just for the hell of it with lots of gestures. He responded in kind.
Happy Birthday Sam!!!! It looks like the piece came from an area of where the funnels were tethered with the cables through the deck and bolted to it. But it is a nice piece from the promenade.
No literally crying you guys are so amazing. Happy birthday Sam. I hope Sam one day comes to Halifax Nova Scotia. I love there and we have so much maritime history. Crying over the love u guys have for each other wow
So cool! Crazy, crazy awesome!!! Happy thirtieth bud! I’m in my mid nearing late thirties and feel a heck of a lot better when someone whom I guessed was about 26 hit the big three zero... Seriously, as an Air Force aviation historian (unofficially) whom used to volunteer for an Air Force museum many years ago, I love history and got to live it... Unfortunately, most of my WWII, Korea, and even Vietnam war veteran friends have passed... Best wishes and I can’t wait for your next episode...
Nice to see you got a part of the Olympic this is amazing dude some wood from a state room and a part of the deck board that's sweet.they got you a pen from titanic you are one lucky dude. Congratulations Sam. Love you videos and love that you family love your live for the ship. And happy dirty 30 years old man. Hell I'm older then you wow. I'm 32 turning 33 on this 🎃 Halloween.
Your video finally sold me. After about a year of debating it, I finally put in an order for a piece smaller than this, but large enough to stand out on a shelf. Love the panel but saw what one of those goes for and just...nope. too steep for me. 😂
Wait so you can actually purchase authentic Olympic and Titanic artifacts? Wow. I thought anything from those ships would be preserved in a museum or something. Honestly, I'm not even as big of a ship enthusiast as Sam is and I wanted to cry... like, the feeling of owning pieces of history like that... wow.
Sam's family intend to give him the entire ship, one piece at a time.
lol!
Lol
Up until now Sam hasn’t been able to fathom rebuilding her
@@goosehubtheshipnerd Fathom - good one.
Hehehehe! For real!😂
owning a part of the Olympic is a bucket list item for me.
Turn it to brittanic olympic and titanic
You can buy small pieces for $70. I have a piece of the first class smoking room carved ceiling. It's a thin piece but still carved and from Olympic.

Best sister ever… Happy Birthday Sam, you don’t look a day over 18!!!
You're such a good family, Sam looked so happy. I'm glad he had a great birthday and got some wonderful gifts!
Thank you so much! :)
Who are the two people who dislike this video? How could you possibly not like this video of Sam’s wholesome family celebrating his birthday?
everytime I film with sam there's always 2 people that dislike the video! haha I don't understand either, oh well 😂
