Hey, one other way is you could find out if the product is fake is backtrack the image they posted, I use a app and I can find where the picture originated. Most pictures are from Twitter lol.
I was gonna but something from him but he told me everything and I was ready to donate the money. But I said you forgot to ask me for my address to ship the stuff to. He sent me his address and his address did not exist.
10 year old me saved up 400$ for the venator found it SEALED on Instagram and tried to buy with my parent’s credit card after I gave em cash never got my set still sad about it :/
One thing I really enjoy about Ryan is his hatred of scams and people taking advantage of others. I really appreciate someone calling people out stuff like this.

He poses as a pregnant woman who's been collecting her whole life, but needs to sell cheap to pay for the baby. Really weird stuff its gross that hes trying to scam such a harmless community.
Dunno about 'harmless' I mean some people in the Lego community are as toxic as it gets. Hell I got banned from Brickset for complaining about the toxic homophobic stuff people were saying in comments... damn community is as bad as any other in my experience

Oh yeah I remember trying to buy the super star destroyer from that account. I tried to convince him to use PayPal but he wouldn’t budge. Said something like “PayPal isn’t available in the Philippines” and from that point on I knew it was a scam so I didn’t buy anything

@Joseph Legrand she would get an extremely low quality image, and look at her post she is unable to cut the different backgrounds, I think she don't even know that is possible to hight the quality of images with bad resolution

I had an encounter with this exact page on Instagram before the holidays! I saw sets I wanted, plus attractive prices. I messaged the account and had a convo with the page, and all sets I mentioned were available, at great prices. I was skeptical that it was too good to be true but what really did it was then asking for me to use the Western Union to transfer founds. I believe my total quote was above 600 so the “PayPal above 600” was BS because they said they wouldn’t do PayPal. So I kindly backed out. Then the account sent a slew of messages desperately trying to say I wouldn’t get scammed. I’m glad I saw this quickly, thanks for making this video. I hope these scammers do get busted...
Not gonna lie, I considered this when looking for lego once, though I ducked out because it didn’t feel right. It should’ve raised a lot more red flags than it did. It makes it really hard to trust anyone outside of bricklink. Thanks for making this. Hopefully, instagram will do something about it like changing the terms of service. Sadly, pretty much no chance the police will do anything.
ClickBricks Make sure to check prices. No one sells the drop ship sealed for $300 on eBay it’s $900-$1,000 sealed. Make sure you compare prices with eBay or Bricklink.

This guy was so obviously a scam I never thought people legit fell for it. None of the pics of the sets are even taken in the same setting. Hopefully he gets taken down finally.
This is why I rarely buy Lego on Instagram. If I do, it's because there are people that I trust for years before handing over money. there are many other safer options on the internet, with safer methods such as PayPal to protect buyers from scams. Thanks for sharing
The reason the backgrounds in the pics are all different is because they’re stealing the pics from legit (hopefully) sellers on EBay, etc. Thanks for letting people know, MandR!

Back when I was in the Lego community more, I remember seeing this happen often! I can't recall the name of the accounts, but there were many. I never personally experienced it, but I did get scammed by individuals/other real lego accounts on instagram. Such a shame, but hopefully videos like this will make people more aware!
I have only been scammed once, I really wanted bf2 2005 for the Xbox and someone was selling the 2005 bf2 xbox version for cheap and my dad bought it forgetting to check the feedback and we got a broken ps2 disk anyways my dad got his money back, and I ended up getting it a month later :).

2. file a report

When ever i sell stuff, not just lego, i put random items in the picture as well, ie fruit, office supplies, etc… just to show yes it real.
What trips me out is instagram will do nothing to these people and never will.
