Honestly the amount of realism and aesthetics of this build is mind blowing. I love the effect that the gradient gives - you should do the same for the walls!
I like the castle. It's relative simplicity is indeed a good fit for a less important Noble family living on a rock in the sea, as you wouldn't be expecting them to have a very large or complex castle like richer nobility :)
If Viggo ever actually finishes Crasburg (and of course this goes for the other settlements too) the custom npc mod would be amazing to populate them with people that aren't just villagers. Guards, mages, traders, butchers, etc. Imagine Crasburg fully populated.
Not sure if it would work but, what about instead of a small harbour there's a sea cave that has a dock and pulley system to bring up supplies? it'd mean the other gatehouse wouldn't be needed and the walls would be more secure maybe. Anyway, awesome build as always.
Great build, I love your style ! Just finished watching all your Crasburg and Klipstead vídeos and you inspired me to make my own medieval fantasy world ! Keep up the good work !
beautiful as always. A good building tip I've always recommended is that hanging bridges, ropes, chains, etc.(also known as cantenaries) always hang in a parabolic arc, not a circular arc.
Pretty good tip there, guys Catenaries are very similar to parabolic archs and it's a geometry that "evens" the forces along the "trajectory" of the arch. It also applies for cathedral archs or bridge supports (both columns and bridge cables) because it kind of makes sense that the curve of a hanging cable and the column of the nave of a cathedral are similar. It's very easy to explain it with a piece of paper and a pen. Not so easy written here :(
I think the lords of Seafort should have a way to get to the island by boat. Maybe you could build a ship further in the sea and a way for smaller boats to get from the ship to the island. That would allow them to escape by sea if the castle and gets attacked
I actually remember building something similar back when Darwin was just a small, freebuild server! God - those were the days. Unfortunately the island was too small so I couldn't really do it, even with worldedit. I just gave up on it but I might try to do it again.
That is an awesome building! Really love to see the world grow and get more and more interconnected! I personally would actually call the little keep "The Rock", I feel like it fits perfectly. Seems natural, hearing poeple talk about the guys living on "The Rock", sounds like a great name that just stuck with the poeple over the course of centuries, so I think it's perfect :) And I think The Rock would appreciate, too :D Also, I really liked that you showed the map of your world, really helps to keep of where we are right now :) Thanks a lot, Viggo, super inspiring! Now I wanna go and play some Conquest Reforged myself :D
I Really like this new build! I've Joined the Discord and have enjoyed talking to everybody. Keep up the building and entertainment in these hard times! edit - I've Been trying to get better at building with conquest, although it is quite hard on a laggy computer
There is a place on camelot mention in games of throne and its named as House Pendragon of camelot and I think its might be idea for a castle for games of throne.
I mean I love this see Fort that you created But I wouldn't call it a small castle it's certainly not a huge castle but that's definitely a castle by the medieval standards it's actually a really nice one so great Job.
Cool little build. Is that rock with just a coloured outline on it gonna be a lighthouse? Is it going to have a barracks and stuff? Like a fort. Seafort? Or was it a fort but repurposed for a family to live? Interior already looks amazing 😍 the whole manor house thing looks great ♥️ the rope bridge is good. And a good defence to have. Some cannon on the sea walls would go nice. Can't wait for episode two of seafort. ♥️♥️♥️
Some advice medical walls and castles would often half wooden add ons to walls as in a quick build before they build it in stone and would have some stuff like they could have little part hanging out of the build witch is a toilet maybe they would have a wooden top of a tower that would extend from the tower to allow them to shit down at the enamy even if there really close
How do you ad steps going side ways on the front towers at the bridge or is that another building trick im not awear of (just geting back into the game after years away)
Maybe add a cave that hides some secret, e.g. a pirate or smuggler hideout :3 You can also add a sunken boat crashed into the rocks Also does it mean it's over with Camlet :
@@Viggoman I started to watch from and it's already over, that's sad. I even gave there suggestion too. Well I hope next projects will be same great or even better.
Amazing! I have a question. You are very good at building "normal" realistic castles but what about a fantasy one? Can you build a fantasy castle? ( not a steampunk or a magic castle.... but fantasy - same materials stone/wood but crazy shapes and thingies...) I think every great castle was built first to show the mighty of someone then for defense purposes if needed.
I’m a complete minecraft pc noob and no idea how to get to this server. Is there a blueprint for this at all? I really am inspired by the tower and diagonal windows
I think the onea living in the keep should have their own ship tbh. Would be hard times if enemy forces take control of the village and they can't get out or get their own goods anymore. Now they'd be prisoners in their own castle.
@@Viggoman a secret passage onto the mainland could be a nice option too. Like a tunnel under the sea. Would probablt be a cool atmosphete with some wooden supports and plants hanging from the top. Might be a long distance to cover but it's always an option I guess :)
Hey Viggo lovely build as always. One small criticism if I may - the walls surrounding the main building look too fresh and new. I think the texturing/weathering on the wall should match the lower, darker texture on the keep. It would make it feel part of the building process rather than separate from it.
Wow, that really looks awesome and has a lovely atmosphere, great job! What are the planks in the basement in 9:57 above the onion bundle and the herbs? I am searching for hours but can't find it
As much as I love this build, I have one major criticism: The bridge. It is WAY too long. If this was the only on-foot access to the castle than it would break almost immediately as it is, and it would be hilariously unstable... What would work a lot better would be to have a sort of tower/pylon roughly in the middle so that it would be two shorter bridges. It would also add another element of defensibility to the build. When it comes to castle design there is no such thing as overkill.
Conquest reforged has custom generation as well I believe which isn't extremely bad as vanilla mc. Should work though I guesa. Just copy the level.dat file and you should be fine.
I like the castle but I think it looks a little bit too much like the last castle you've build. Would be a little bit cooler if you'd used a more unique style and / or palette for it.
Its very close to other builds, hence the style will be similar. If you have cool unique styles you want me to try feel free to post them in my discord
Loll, its not minecraft. Its a set of mods used to design a castle on a videogame. A better title for this video is: Design of a small minecraft castle made with mods. Anyway, nice castle.
Dude you're making me dizzy with all this back and forth shit. Just focus on one thing at a time and smoothly transition from one thing to another. It seems like you had too many energy drinks. But the castle looks amazing. I like the Conquest reforged but they're always way behind on the game version so i never use it.

Im a simple man, i see viggo uploads, i click.
Imo add a few rope rail supports to the bridge at diagonals, for that extra ropiness
Like horizontaly?
