Growing up I went to a small Lutheran school and church in Ohio. Music was a part of it, both choir children's, youth and I believe Jr choir which I was a part of from kindergarten to 8th grade. Although I wasn't the greatest singer, my best friend was the choir director daughter's and we came as a duet! I was the oldest of three girls and we too had our Harry in our family. She got in to trouble with the Pastors daughter
Of course we had music too- it.started with recorder, then I went to clarinet and eventually folk and classical guitar. Two things which I still enjoy today except for the arthritis in my fingers!

Coincidentally enough the first non-religious song we learned was,This land is your land. The Pastors daughter was my first guitar teacher and through her I learned the protest songs of the 60s-juSt didn't realize they were protest songs- where have all the flowers gone, one man's hands, etc
