For too many years to count now, I thought I had a pick somehow stuck behind or in that preamp. I could shake the guitar and it sounded like a pick stuck in there! Finally after an embarrassing number of years tolerating it I decided to do something about it. Watched this see how to remove the preamp and it turns out there was a loose screw bouncing around in the preamp (the screw secured one of the circuit boards to the housing). Problem fixed at last! Thank you.
Hi. I own a 90's cp-132sc with an accurAcoustic preamp that suddenly stoped to sound. Any hint how to test if the problem is the preamp or the pickup? should I see some voltage at the pickup RCA connector? there's any way to get the schematics to help a technician to troubleshot the problem? Thanks in advance!!!
Quick question please. I own a Takamine Jumbo EG523SC, S/N 4432674. Lately, during a live performance during a worship service, the volume is cutting in and out, even with a brand new 9v in it. Oddly enough, when I came home and plugged it into an amp, it doesn't do it, but I still think it might be something within the TK40. Over time, there are two little pieces of plastic that have broken off the base part where the TK fits into the guitar, but I dont think that's the problem if it works with a regular amp. I also tried two different guitar cable the church has for us on stage. Yesterday, I brought my Taylor 810ce, and after the Takamine was cutting in and out again during practice, I switched Gtrs and my Taylor was fine, so now I think it's something gone wrong in the TK40. Any thoughts? Are there outlets where I can but a replacement TK40 for it? I'd hate to scrub the guitar over something like this. Plus the main website for Takamine was ZERO help, and will also certainly become a point if I choose to replace the guitar, with a different brand, of course, all due to servicing.
I had a problem putting the preamp back into the guitar. Only one tab would click into place so the other side - the battery side - stayed loose. I simply loosened the strings, reached into the guitar and pushed the tab from the other side until it clicked into place. Works perfectly now. Thanks for the great video!
What is the rate of failure on these preamps? I’m hesitant to spend $300 only to find out that the preamp was not the problem. The tuner light illuminates and I don’t see any fried capacitors. Does takamine repair existing preamp‘s or is replacement the only option? Thanks for the video
Will this apply to an old jasmine by takamine ? The battery compartment is not in the same place. The pickup and pre amp seem to be dead. (Model ts93 c a. ).
My pickup or amp has never worked in my takamone I need a preamp or whatever it is called the thing with all the controllers please tell me how I can get one
My Preamp in my NP-17C has shit the bed....not ever really used that much either... I am the original owner...IS THERE A REPAIR / SERVICE or WARRANTY FOR ORIGINAL OWNERS?? AccurAcoustic is what is currently on my guitar. Help Please???
I have a TNV760 qith cool tube preamp.. is it possible to upgrade that system the same way? I am facing some issue with the COOL TUBE because during the show the more than i play and the more it loose quality. It's like it start distorting.
Hi 👋🏻 is it working for all Takamine models ? I mean, I’m going to buy a GY11ME guitar with TP4T Preamp, is it possible to change this preamp and put the Cool Tube Preamp (CTP-3) ?
Thank you for the video. My Takamine guitar has a Graph-Ex Pre Amp, I can push down a hook on battery side, but I can’t the other side (EQ side.) No hole this side. So, how can I push down this side’s hook?
I also would like to know this. The housing broke on my tk4nt and I would like to know if I can just replace it all with a modern preamp. To be clear...everything would have to be replaced.
This is the problem I had (for too many years) and I finally decided to do something about it. Watching the video I learned how to remove the preamp. Then there is a screw on the preamp itself to allow disassembly. Turns out there was a loose screw (and nut ) in there. The screw is supposed to secure one of the circuit boards to the preamp housing.

I have that same preamp and it won’t power up. Intermittent but now I can’t get it back
I have maybe stupid questions! Can I change Takamine gj72 tk 40d on (for example) ctp3-2 or something else? Or it not fit?

Hi Joe, I got a GRAPH-EX that has no hole; a small slot on the lwr left...is that where tab 2 hides?
Hi I have a Tan 16 c and recently the signal decays to a grumble I changed to new batteries Do you think its a tube problem
So a cool tube pre amp will fit a Gn 77 ce ?
My pickup or amp has never worked in my takamone I need a preamp or whatever it is called the thing with all the controllers please tell me how I can get one
I was able to release one opposite the battery insert with a thin guitar pick
Is it possible to put a ct4b preamp in my g series takamine?

Saludos Desde Puerto Rico,Tengo una takamine EC-128 se le daño el preám como o dónde comprarlo?
I think my guitar is older and doesn’t come with that small whole. How do I take it off? Is an accuracoustic EQ
David Portela it has 2 clips and yes it doesn’t have the little hole .Ive removed those before. They are harder to take off so have some patients .
I used a small Allen key through the Eq slot
Joe is Awesome!!!!

In short, no. G series of Takamine guitars can't use preamps made for professional series of guitars. I think the size and fit are different.
@@zvonimirtosic6171 ok thanks
