The original rulebook was harder to read than the Infinity RPG which came out at a similar time and looked a lot more like this. Departments used to be Disciplines. Still seems to have the issue that 1st ed has compared with Infinity (i.e. doesn't have the infowar and social conflict systems, so it's easier to describe Day of the Dove's action in Infinity than STA.)

Social conflict is a key component of STA1e and is further emphasized in 2e.
