I've seen plenty of people die to Toriel multiple times. And when I played the demo, I got way too many of those weird wavy attacks that move from side to side.

I nearly got slaughtered by a stupid flower the second I got here, and its only with Toriel's help that I even got away that time. When she's not there holding my hand I get picked on by the local wildlife and even the ghost with like, zero self-esteem. They're probably the weakest monsters or something and its all downhill if I go outside of the ruins. Toriel's right. I've got no business leaving the only place of love and safety down here which I stumbled on by pure luck. I give up!" *tries to sleep* Asgore: "Chara, you are the future of monsters and humans" Frisk: "I'M TRYING TO FUCKING SLEEP, VOICE IN MY HEAD! AND WHO THE HELL'S CHARA!? im the original artist for the comic and yes of course i watched the vid the moment it came out but goodness, coming back and hearing the sincere acting has me feeling all emotional all over again :') yall do a lot of good.
Thank you! It's actually been a while since I revisited this dub, and reminded me of how proud I was of this work. I'm glad that you like it, even after all this time, and I also really appreciate the work you put into this comic in the first place-- It's not hard to parse the emotions these characters are going through because you conveyed it so well. But it warms the cockles of my heart to hear compliments like this, even on "older" work, so genuinely, thank you.

I belive that if toriel thought this, every time frisk smiled more guilt would build up til one day she would just burst out, like in this video. So I belive it has a perfect understanding of the characters instincts.
+Asriel Dreemurr Kindness doesn't mean silence. It's implied here that Toriel felt incredible guilt over having even the tiniest part of her hope for the ongoing misery of her people to end. Communication is important; if she never talked this out with Frisk, she might have still expressed her guilt in ways that could, to a child, suggest that the parent is ashamed of them or was holding back their love for some reason. It's a very serious answer to your comment, but I can say that I would appreciate someone being straightforward with me about their guilt than harboring it forever in silence. *shrug* There are many different ways to be kind, and thoughtful honesty (as opposed to brutal honesty) is one of them.

This was so tender and heartfelt. I was so immersed I could almost feel Toriel's sweater and smell her perfume, or at least what I imagined she would smell like. Incredible.

I've wondered which would benefit both me and the world better, dying or living. I've decided that though life is hard at times, and that dying is easier, that it wouldn't be fair to put those who love me through that torment. I know my time is coming and I will go when the good Lord calls me, my work here isn't done yet.

Tbh, best dub for Toriel I've ever heard. And the Sans and Papyrus ones are good too, and that's amazing because I'm REALLY picky about their voices.
I loved this, a rather somber comic with a moment of levity at the end.
