Dr. Bruce Greyson is the Chester Carlson Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry and Neurobehavioral Sciences at the University of Virginia. He was previously on the medical faculty at the University of Michigan and the University of Connecticut, where he was Clinical Chief of Psychiatry.
Dr. Greyson has consulted with the National Institutes of Health and addressed symposia on consciousness at the United Nations and at the Dalai Lama’s compound in Dharamsala, India. He has earned awards for his medical research and was elected a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, the highest honor bestowed by that organization.
Dr. Greyson’s interest in near-death experiences began just a few months after graduating from medical school, when he treated an unconscious patient in the emergency room who stunned him the next morning with an account of leaving her body. T
hat event challenged his beliefs about the mind and the brain, and ultimately led him on a journey to study near-death experiences scientifically, leading to more than a hundred publications in medical journals.
He co-founded the International Association for Near-Death Studies (IANDS), an organization to support and promote research into these experiences, and for 27 years edited the Journal of Near-Death Studies, the only scholarly journal dedicated to near-death research. Through his research, he has discovered common and universal themes in near-death experiences that go beyond neurophysiological or cultural interpretations, as well as patterns of consistent aftereffects on individuals’ attitudes, beliefs, values, and personalities.
Dr. Greyson is the author of After: A Doctor Explores What Near-Death Experiences Reveal About Life and Beyond. The book challenges our everyday ideas about our minds and our brains and offers key insights on how we can begin to live a more meaningful and fulfilling life.

What is your biggest take away from this conversation?
That NDEs are real human experiences not caused by anything other than the separation of an enduring consciousness from the brain.
As an aside I'll add that Dr. Greyson's moral courage to spend his career swimming against the current of scientific materialism. He is a genuine pioneer working in the service of humanity. Simply put, we need this knowledge.
I am grateful for the wonderful doctor's studies and ability to communicate. Yet, I felt a sadness when he mentioned not being able to know because he had not experienced. I am grateful for the ability to step forward even the slightest bit in faith, which seems to be a prerequisite to experiencing the great beyond. Also, Alex, thank you for your ability to have respectful conversations with a huge range of individuals and personalities. I do not appear to be anywhere near reaching my saturation point of watching your interviews!
That the Golden Rule is super important and will make our lives and those lives around us better.

I lost my little boy unexpectedly over two months ago. Which has me searching for answers, I have more questions than answers. So much anger he left me guilt I should've done more. He was special needs it was expected at some point but it was also unexpected. I just woke up like I always do to give him his medication and I always checked his breathing first because that fear has been there since his diagnosis. So here I am just looking for answers and want to know that he is okay and happy.
I will only recommend that you find a good Medium and have a meeting with your little boy, who can and most likely will come speak with you and answer your questions. I had about 40-50 readings with my 3rd wife and SO MUCH was said and revealed by her. She also has come to be with me in many dreams so life after death is an absolute fact, for me, I just can't prove it - for now. Go get a reading if you can.
@@jimrich4192 I did approach a medium and she said it was too early and she was concerned with my level of grieving that it might block messages coming in. Which I really respected from her as to not give me false hope or information. She even suggested a reading and if nothing comes through we can try again at a no later stage at no cost. I'm not sure if I'm ready. I'm still on days where my brain hasn't fully accepted or comprehended. I like those days because I don't feel anything. I'm too scared to accept it
I am sorry for your loss but if you look at this way you might understand what is going on for instance living is mainly by using six senses ie eyes ears nose tongue for taste body and the mind without these operating we are not alive for this world. Universally our consciousness is one because of our ignorance we seperate our selves with me concept then comes the ego craving for me and mine as long as this concept exist we all will experience loss and happiness as well not the real happiness with knowledge. We grieve for ourselves although we think we are doing it for others. If you do not have your six senses you won't have your so called world. World evolve around you. Each of us running a wild goose chase we never found us or our loved ones. It is the mind that is tricking us. This is explained well in Buddhism. If you want to get an understanding of what happened to you and your loved one this is a beginning.
I'm so sorry for your loss, the loss of a child has to be the worst, a very hard test, but do not worry about your son now he has passed over, he will be whole and in a loving place. Its hard for us in physical form to comprehend what it must be like to no longer have a physical body, but everything I've watched, researched and heard says leaving the body behind can be a relief, especially if you have been physically afflicted in life, but seems always to be a joyful experience. Further, you likely had a soul contract in place before you were born which included your son, his early passing and this bereavement you are going through now, so guilt is something to lay aside, it doesn't belong to you - we are actually eternal as souls, just not in physical form as we each are today, our bodies are temporary. Anger is part of grief - the grief we feel is because the loved one is no longer here, with us in the physical world when we still are here, so we are bereft... but those who have passed are fine, existing in love and peace. If you're still struggling, it may be worth seeking therapy from a bereavement counsellor, because you are the one who has to find a way to cope with your loss, go on and complete your life - there is no need to worry whether you could or should have done more, or if your son is happy - he is and his soul still exists, just not here.❤

I was curious years ago, but I wanted hard science to convince me, and these pioneers did that. It all made perfect sense and explained a lot of things. Then, a painful loss in my own life compelled me to search deeper for answers. My sweet sweeeeeet MOM passed away from Cancer, bacterial meningitis, lungs infection, kidney failure, 18 chemo,40 rediations,fits,strokes internal bleeding and finally heart failure. She was only 48 year old ,but I know she’s in Heaven!!! She wasn’t just my mom, but my best friend. Please pray for her.
I'm Japanese and my mother had a NDE when I was a child. She described walking in a tunnel with her diseased father (my grandpa) along side of her. It wasn't a river. Her father told her to go back. And she realized she couldn't leave her young children behind. Then she was back. Doctors couldn't believe she lived in that condition because they had never seen a case that survived it before during their entire career. She made a complete recovery, miraculously. And she was called an "wonder woman" by the doctors.

I am 74 and in good health. I have been blessed to have come this far and will continue my earthly journey until God brings me Upstairs. I will not indulge in meditation, shutting down my brains, etc. Life is wonderful. Nature is wonderful and I can experience that every day...the sunrise, sunsets, the flowers, leaves, people, etc. It is not perfect and there are much sorrows and hardships. But I will enjoy each God-given day. Be Blessed.

I had my own NDE experience and to me there is no doubt, we are not human being living a spiritual experience but light source living a human experience.
I am a medical doctor from Sri Lanka and has explored these area. This doctor is correct in many things he told. Consciousness opens up when the brain is shut down which in common in drugs, meditation or NDE.
Bruce’s research totally convinced me that we carry on after our bodies die. He has had this validated by the stories of people that recounted what happened after they passed away. Hundreds of these examples. How can you not believe because it’s been scientifically proven as far as I’m concerned. Good interview 👍😃👋

I asked my 3rd wife why cancer took her to heaven? She said she CHOSE that form of exit to have less pain and have enough time to say "goodbye" to her friends. She said it was planned for me to be there at the end. She said she knew how & when I'd cross over & that she'd meet me there. I said: please don't tell me, let it be a SURPIRSE.

@@jas2819 Probably more like a filter that lets a certain amount of information in and a lot of it out, from the universal consciousness.
When I was a kid of 8 I experienced the void without an NDE and I was all that is...a strange 'I Am' experience. I had a very real friend my parents couldn't see that I called Silly, precognitive dreams...I dreamt my parents went to the hospital and picked me out, I then was told tearfully I was adopted. These things went on and on. I went on a mission as a teen to understand my reality and read everything I could, esp Dr. Joseph Murphy, U.S. Anderson, studied Edgar Cayce, and meditated regularly. I experienced so many odd paranormal things till around the age of 25 (82) that basically ended with a dream visit of my then-deceased mother. She told me it would be ok but I didn't understand it at that moment...I felt such love when she hugged me that it poured over me like warm honey and woke up with arms around my pillow. Very blissful...After that being a mother of 3 and then having a very sick husband, I had to leave much of it aside to work and take care of my family. It has only been in the last 2 years that I have stepped back to recapture that oneness I felt so long ago...My dreams are quiet still but I have had a blessed life nevertheless, even tho it was a rough road at times.
None of that has anything to do with NDE's OR your fascinating conversation with the Dr. only that it emphasizes to me that we are so much more than our bodies...I am one with Source, I came here to experience a material existence, living in the now as fully as possible, listening to my reality every day, loving being here whatever may come, and laughing with joy for the chance to do it. I can believe Bruce when he says we will meet our deceased relatives when we die. Why do I say this? Because days before my Dad died he was talking outloud to his deceased mother!!!!
I remember an ER doctor stating that those who experienced a "hellish" NDE would come back screaming and if interviewed then would describe what they experienced, but the following morning had no memory of their hellish experience. The ER doctor stated that either they actually could not remember because of the extreme trauma of the NDE or did not want to admit that they had a hellish experience due to pride.
Ram Das was at a conference I went to. My father heard a talk he gave, and Ram Das said “dying is like taking off a tight shoe”. My father was tearful as he left the auditorium. As a nurse, I have heard a few people describe NDEs, leaving the room and saying what actually happened in the other room.
My mom (RIP) used to say, “dying is like walking into another room!”

Love this part: to paraphrase (from about 37 minutes in) - Dr. Greyson said he's learned from NDEers that it's a friendly universe... there's nothing to be afraid of... the only thing that makes us afraid is our imagination...
Also, those who are not afraid of death are not afraid to live; they live more fully and are more present.
And I love te view outside the paradigm of our type of logic; we tend to like the simplicity of black or white... but it could be black, it could be white, it could be both black and white, or it could be neither.
I am not afraid of dying, but afraid of the pain and sufferings which is caused by a stroke or heart attack or cancer etc.
Death is not the end. You are just going to another dimension
I had a NDE in 2001. After that happened, I have had a lot more interaction with deceased relatives, including one where my grandfather warned me of a major change coming imminently. Three days later, my home exploded and burned down. Comparing NDE and dream visitations, the energy is very similar.

"Learn to love in spite of conflict," Now, that's a lesson we need to learn and somehow teach.
Somehow I always knew things most others had no idea about. My grandmother and I made a pact when I was 4 years old. She said that if there was any way at all after she died, she would contact me. She said I was probably the only one who would be able to be contacted. One reason was that I told her about my dead cousin coming to me in the hospital when I was there for a tonsilectomy and put into an exam room for the night. I was 23 years old and sitting in a chair reading a book. I looked up and there was my grandmother. She looked at me and said "Jerry there is a heaven" and then just disappeared. It was just corroboration of what I had always believed. I tell people that in order to "hear" God you have to have your God antenna activated. They wills say what do you mean. I say have you ever listened to AM radio? Most say no. I said there is a button on your radio to switch the antenna from FM to AM. You have to turn on your God antenna.
I find it very interesting the the James Webb telescope is basically seeing that the Universe did not come from nothing in a big bang. The early galaxies are the same as the galaxies now. So many scientist are pragmatic enough to realize that so much of science is near impossible to have happened randomly. A great book about that is Calculating God: A Novel Paperback - March 3, 2009

What an amazing interview!. Dr Greyson is a great example of open mindness and espect towards other people's experiences. He does not admit to be spiritual or being influenced by his research. However, his commitment to service, humbleness and peaceful demeanor is the best example that listening to NDE's stories have nourished his soul. It is refreshing to see a physician with his qualities, specially if we take I to consideration that as a psychiatrist he takes care of the most vulnerable population.
Yes, scientists care and do good, often not for a later reward in heaven but for the improvements they bring right now on earth. Grateful for scientists, after all, ambulances don't rush to pastors or life coaches in emergencies.

I saw an nde story or heard about it somewhere where this girl was blind from birth and had an nde and in her experience she could see everything including her best friend who died and she never knew what she looked like, but when she came back she described what she looked like in detail and was correct, explain that one!!!!

My brother had a grounded experience while in an induced coma. I had an NDE at age 26. I went from floating and watching my surgery to another dimension. That is the difference.

Fascinating. What I really like about Dr. Alexander's research is that he started out thinking that science would explain the NDEs.
Wow loved the story of the man who relived the emotion of the man he hurt. It made me think about people who identify themselves as empathes. Maybe those who experience deep empathy are getting a momentary remembrance of of who we are at our core. I’m watching this 6 months after it was posted but gave me a lot to think of this rainy day! Now when I have the moment on the road of someone cutting me off or someone being unexpectedly rude I can try to practice the pause. It’s hard to conceptualize such vast consciousness. It also makes me realize that our purpose here is possibly incredibly different than our narrow perception. How do you ask someone why they "went to Heaven " when they ain't dead yet?
This was one of the most riveting interviews I have witnessed on this website. Dr. Greyson's experience with the subject of NDE mirrors my own experience with this subject. I, too, have not had an NDE, but nearly everything about an NDE resonates with my being. I understand where Dr. Greyson is coming from. Furthermore, his manner of speaking was consistent and very, very clear.
There's a beautiful story this brings to mind concerning the ineffable, attributed to the Buddha: He was usually very cryptic and dodgy in giving details on the 'Great Beyond'. He said it wouldn't help in attaining enlightenment.On one occasion when someone asked him what happened after death,his reply was,"How could I explain the whole wide world to a little bird - that hasn't even hatched from its egg yet?".
Consciousness is the Library, and the brain is the Librarian. When we're small, we have access to the same Library, but the "books" are all over the place and overlapping each other, so as we develop and grow older, with the experience and learning, the "books" are tidied up gradually and sorted until a lot of those that are useful to us are put into "shelves". However, if we drink too much or if some of us choose to take mind altering substances, these "books" are either scattered around again in a very messy way, temporarily, or carefully left in patterns, opened at random chapters. Just an idea that I've walked around with.

In my dreams I can actually tell time clearer than in reality to be honest. I can tell when the events get compressed and when they get stretched out by their presentation and I stay actually aware of time as though I am not in the dream.
One question I would love to ask about NDE's is about justice. What happens to those who commit terrible crimes against humanity? I rarely hear any NDEer mention this. The closest I've heard is that the judgement you receive is that you relive the crime and feel the pain you caused the other, and thats it? Would love to hear a series of study just on this topic. Very fascinating indeed. I've listened to hundreds of NDE'S on TH-cam and it has definitely changed my life and view of death
Imagine how many painful deaths Hitler must experience. I figure he's still got 999,921 years of hell left to live through.
I think I am of the opinion that on the other side there is no sense of good or bad, right or wrong and that one should be punished for them but of an emphasis on learning, on soul evolution. In other words, a Hitlerian type that has committed many wrongs in a lifetime, and that on the other side, may experience a strong sense of anguish and desire to make up for the wrongs inflicted in his previous incarnation. So that, in his next incarnation, he may not necessarily suffer the consequences of his previous incarnation, but rather be imbued with a strong service to others as in activities like caring for the sick etc. as an act of compensation.
On this Earth plane, it is easy to get involved with the ego and commit errors and that no one is inherently evil. People commit crimes not because they are evil but because they are not aware of the light within. I am not sure that I have explained myself appropriately. It is all about our concept of the good. An egotistical person considers himself as the highest good and performs accordingly with this concept. But a more evolved person would be more aware not only what is good for him but for others as well. So, it is more a question of how limited one's concept of good is.

I had an OBE when I was about 11. I was lying on my side on my bed then suddenly I was up at the ceiling looking down on me lying on the bed. I thought to myself 'wow I can see and breathe but I don't have a body'. I looked about the room then I was instantly back in my body looking out my physical eyes. It only lasted about a minute. I didn't float up or back down, it was just instantly up and instantly back down. I definitely wasn't asleep because it was totally different to a dream or even a hallucination, which I had when I had bad flu once (of something different).

I had several OBE’s as a child and one as an adult. The ones as a child were terrifying, perhaps as they were the result of extreme stress and trauma. The one as an adult happened briefly during meditation. At first, the adult experience was more of a curiosity than anything, but I became frightened when it occurred to me that I might not be able to return to my body.
Thanks for your video explains a lot of what happened to me about 6 years ago now. Almost like the Doctor read my mind. My experience was my own as they all will be. This video brought me to the belief that this experience was surely the greatest gift God gave me. Doc you lived your mission today you helped me understand a bit more and gave me some peace.

My understanding of the "afterlife" came from many psychic readings with wives, relatives, etc. and at least one direct, telepathic communication with my "dead" brother-in-law. My 3rd wife said, when asked what do you do over there - what's it like?, said, "You just wont understand, it's beyond the capacity or abilities of your physical mind to grasp!" She wasn't putting us down, just stating a fact. That made and still makes perfect sense to me, based on all the actual & indirect info I've gathered over the years about life after death and what all goes on. If this doctor really wants to know something, I'd recommend a few READINGS with a good Medium where the "dead" can tell him all he needs to know or is ABLE to understand. I know and learned a lot (thru my 2nd Medium wife) but must admit that most of what goes on over there is way beyond my mind's ability to grasp. It's a mystery - to say the least!

I would think that if you were a REAL scientist, you would also be deeply devoted to God... You would SEE the Beauty, the Majesty, the Glory of Life everywhere. You can read the books Dolores Cannon. She did research what happens after people dies, past lives too. Their's lot info, including about jesus too, its very amazing just like Louis Hays too, she wrote books to heal internally.
Adding Dr. Greyson's narrative to my previous exposure to this subject felt like a cherry on the cream pie. Really helped me interpret the meaning of all these NDE reports and solidified my expectations of the inevitable human death experience that awaits us all. Similar to how people who experience NDE lose their fear of passing, it feels like every increment of quantitative proof on this subject that I take in eases my personal fear of death and, maybe more importantly, the fear of losing loved ones by an equal amount. This was convincing.
Drowned. had one, saw my body in the water dead. Floated up. Then back in my body spitting up water. Uncle Bob pulled me up gave me cpr.
As someone who on April 2, 2020 I had an NDE! I drown in my own blood. I died from Acute Respiratory failure, Hypoxia! I can tell you this with absolute certainly!! I was NEVER MORE ALIVE than when I transitioned to home!!! I knew exactly where I was and who I was with!!!

This is amazing! Thank you! About reincarnation, those are memories from other souls, not ours. Before we came to earth, we already were, at our home. Together with our soul family and friends. Many of them had already incarcerated on earth and came back to tell their stories. They share advice. In this earth, what we remember as our past life, was not ours. That’s a memory we somehow kept from the stories told to us by our soul friends who had actually experienced them.
Even while watching the NDE episode, I will also read the many comments...those are often very helpful as it is sharing of experiences and thoughts. For me, Death is not an event to be fearful. In fact, after the NDE videos, I look forward to my own death and to the Beyond. I will give more love to God, to Society while I am still in my physical body.

If you experience the suffering you inflict on others after you die, can you imagine what some of the world’s worst dictators go through once they have died? That must be “intense” to put it mildly…

I always fear what I might hear from scientists as most WANT to debunk this type of thing, I had many people try to tell me my experience was just my brain reacting to death, I just tell them to try it sometime... 😏

When I was 9 months old I paralyzed on my right side. Hearing the story when I was older, I was told that the doctor said it was a heat stroke and it would eventually heal itself.
I remember (or I think I remember that I spoke with God.) I promise I remember this. I spoke with God and I told him that I didn’t want to come home because I needed to stay behind to protect my mother from my father. I have only told 2 people this story. Has anyone else ever had an experience like this?
I have MS. It was when I had an MRI to the brain that the doctor saw it. I said yeah I had a stroke when I was 9 months old . It was a heat stroke.
The doctor said that it wasn’t a heat stroke, but a full blown stroke that would have caused paralysis in an adult. He said because I was so young that my body healed miraculously.
My body healed. My brain didn’t heal very well.
I begged to see it but he said I didn’t need to see it. I wanted to see the Bitch that caused my life so much pain. He still said no.
I believe that people are telling the truth about NDE.
And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books according to their works. I appreciate Dr. Greyson's focus on how the NDE experience changed the "back to normal" lives of the experiencers. After watching dozens and dozens of NDEer videos, and reading some books, it is a fact that the experiencer can take years, if not decades, to come to terms with the experience, and incorporate it into their daily living. In "The World's Religions", Huston Smith states that the common core changes that came into the lives of the early Christians really working to live by Christ's teachings and examples were: Loss of ego, loss of guilt, and loss of the fear of death. In many ways that seems to be the gist of how the NDE changes the experiencer's life, and how we, who really come to believe what these tales are relaying to us, can change our living, too. I've had some "experiences", but no out of body or near death ones. But I truly believe that the NDEers are coming back and telling us about the grander scope of Life. I've never been to Paris, but I believe what folks who have been there tell me about its existence. Same with "the other side". The focus on Unity, Innocence, Karma, Repentance/Reconciliation/Rehabilitation, and the Golden Rule can absolutely change one's life for the better. We can be "saved" from what we do to make ourselves and others suffer. Of course, that's the essence of so many spiritual teachings, including the deep levels of the 12-step programs. Now, I just have to live it.

I had an episode where I saw the bright light. I actually felt the bright light and the peace and the love everyone talks of. I don't know how I got there and I did not stay long but I saw it and I felt it and it was real
I love the University of Virginia. They do such interesting work. I worked night shift a acareer in nursing. So much of what he says rings true in my experience. I am grateful that children are always safe in Gods hands.And death has no sting . Death is just a transition.❤ Except for the rotton people that hurt others.
I've never had an NDE but other experiences. I've had OBE'S, but nothing was wrong with me. I've had expanded awareness like a giant bubble, and I could see in 360° everything happening even outside the building I was in. Also, other types of supernormal events. So I know we're not the body but rather that the body is a vehicle.

I’ve had OBE’s as well, as a child and as an adult.
Fatigue can cause OBE's too. I was flying cross country, seated at the window seat, flying over Colorado in 2011, I was so tired, I floated outside the window and was hanging around on the wing looking at myself through the window. No fear.

Fascinating discussion. Nichiren Buddhism explains these concepts of life and death, and the purpose of life, in even greater detail. But it was extremely valuable to hear that many thousands of people have actually lived out these concepts through their own near death experiences.

I've watched a few peoples accounts of NDE's and I feel that I'm no longer afraid of death and I also feel that I have a lot to live for and that I'm more passionate about life and my purpose.
The thing about science is it isn't always right and for the most part of it very materialistic in terms of belief, it's great to see some people in this field starting to realise how real the spirit world is which people who have been through a NDE can testify to. My challenge to any doctor or scientist who doesn't believe in spiritual life to go and stay in a haunted dwelling for a few weeks then some beliefs and false misconceptions can change over night.

I have thought about the topic of dying and came to the conclusion that I think I am not afraid of being dead but more afraid of the physical act of dying itself and if one will suffer during the process. This will depend on how one passes, cancer, car accident, drowning or maybe you just go to sleep and not wake. It is the pain & fear that may be associated with the actual dying. I like to believe in reincarnation. We are all here to learn something and we come back to be a better person and our souls grow with a bit more knowledge each time. There used to be a saying (an old soul) meaning insight! Sometime you see this in young children. For me they have been here before and those that do wrong are new souls and have to go through the trials, tribulations & pain in life in order to become the wise old soul. Might be crazy but I like to think it. Each to their own I guess.
i encountered your channel after i watched After Death movie. I was in the part where you asked about pre-life existence. I had experience before my mother passed. I had this dream, i was in the hospital and i was crying because i sent someone in the emergency room and i don't know who it was. several months pass, i was in the same situation and i saw the person i took the hospital and it was my mom. it was the very same scenario and it happened in real life. i had so many incidents like this and i just brushed it away from my mind.
I am intensely afraid of dying and at the same time looking forward to the peace some describe it to be. I am afraid of it because of the guilt I carry for emotional pain I caused to others in my youth. I can not ask them for forgiveness because they are dead, so the burden gets heavier each year. I don't feel you can ask God for forgiveness for this because the "crime" wasn't against Him (but against one of His children). So, I can only hope they have forgiven me and I will be able to reunite to beg for forgiveness.
This is a man I believe, I have his book, very good book. He is one of my favourites, together with Pim Van Lommel.

There is plenty of evidence of the afterlife in the Holy Bible, there are 2 main destinations! Follow Jesus if you want to go to Heaven.

regarding the children remembering their womb memories. Yes, even adults can retrieve memories. I have attended group healing therapies, where people's pre-verbal memories as well as womb memories surfaced for healing.
At 38:38 why did you two Not discuss “Parallel Lives”? (Thank you for touching on this later in the interview.). That is, parts of your souls are divided into a couple of small pieces, one small piece transitions- the other small piece is still living, at the same time. These parts are different people with different lives and different death dates. So, it’s Another Life but not a real “Past Life” it’s more like a sequential life…one part transitions, the other part is living. So they are picking up on all of their own part, AND the part lived already by the other ‘still alive’ part.
I think the more that the great scientific minds open up from their pre conceived historical teachings and work together with the great spiritual seers and minds the more we will all learn and benefit. Both are needed to understand the world we experience and the world beyond the veil
The last few minutes of this interview addressed the fact that in this life, there is conflict that makes it more difficult to learn how to love. On the other side, there is no conflict. If there is nothing but pure love, light, etc. No questions, no disagreements, no mystery, etc. What does that mean to the human spirit? There's no exploration. There is no need to walk around the next bend in the river or peer over the next mountain ridge. No libraries, no more need for learning. That all sounds a little hellish to me. I've never had an nde, so I'm just trying to understand.
Where did you get the idea that there are no questions, no mystery, no exploration, no walking, no need to learn ?
Without wanting to be mean, what kind of ndes retelling have you been listening to ? All of these things are present during them. Imagine your brain being plugged into the Internet, how would you not be learning ? As far as walking around exploring, people are also flying around exploring during ndes. How about that, does that still sound hellish ?

Some important questions were asked here. Thank you. Emotions come from chemicals in the brain. Chemicals are also an important factor. My Near Death Experience, over thirty years ago, certainly changed the course of my life. I have not been the same since.
I had NDE and met with Light of the World my cosmic parent. One comment on doctor’s statement. In my view, over there, not everything is perfect either, so beside love, wisdom is also the central attribute that guides higher order of beings in this universe. That’s why this level headed, logical approach of your guest is so valuable and relevant.
There are levels "over there" too. Ultimately, there is the purest, living, moving, loving, Light. All manifestation - whethere "here" or "there" - is less than the Light of God. Socrates said it well.; he called it "Absolute Beauty". Nothing can begin to compare to the Light of God.
