- This vibrant and sometimes emotional music originated in 15th century Spain. Most of the music is sung in Ladino, the language of the Sephardim.

Music is my love
I am Askhenazi and my wife is Hindu. But I have always been attracted to Ladino language and music. My Family Prayer Book was printed in Lemberg ( Lvov,Lviv ) in 1889 .But maybe,my roots are 500 years old, from Spain..
Very interesting, thanks.
Wow! Me too from Lviv :)
and they say are prejudice, we know what it feel to be discriminated against , L`chaim !!!
Sefaradi went from Spain to Turkey (it used to be Osman Impair Turkey,Greece ,Bosnia ,Bulgaria ....and another group went to Amsterdam ( not in Holland but just to one city Amsterdam )... And third group stopped in Venice (venezia , repubblica Serenissima.....Sefaradi did not go to Poland or Germnny,as far as l know.
I am proud to be Sephardi and a singer who keeps our music in Ladino. Thank you for shedding light on the sefardim! I was featured with my sefardi song I wrote in another documentary of the Sephardim, as well, that perhaps you know have seen. Bless you!
Thanks!
Great!
Thank you for highlighting the beauty of our history 😊
I'd heard sephardic music and even played a piece based on a sephardic melody before. They were lovely, and I wanted to know more since I didn't really have any context for them. So thank you for giving me some context for the music I liked so much.
It REALLY is my pleasure! 😉
So glad you made this video, as everyone could be enriched by this awesome culture.
Para el mejor sephardic ensamble: Emilio , Sara y Angeles,

But only Sephardi know why this kind of music has been created
Beautiful music and singing.❤
Enjoy!
This is great! I wish Ashkanaz Jews were more familiar with the Sephardic traditions.
I will have to read up on Ashkanaz Jews.

Sería muy bien que te callaras para escuchar la música que estás presentando
I DID listen to the music and was enchanted by it. I made this video to let other people sample some snippets of the beauty in the hope that they will love it too.
no one expects the Spanish Inquisition
Noted
@@greywithglasses The Monty python quote is actually sarcasm. You do know that because the inquisition was announced ahead of time in history
@@shadowdance4666 No, I do not know. Please tell me more, I like to learn.
I just found this out myself so, you know about as much as I do at this point. I never knew that it was sarcasm until a few days ago. I thought Monty Python was being silly @@greywithglasses
@@greywithglassesThey’re referring to a famous British comedy sketch called ‘The Spanish Inquisition’
the jews that stayed changed their names so as to not get caught the put at the end of their names the letters EZ which stands for Eretz Zion the land of Zion. during the inquisition.
Interesting, thanks.
The subfix -ez in the spanish family names comes from euskera language. It means "son of". Rodríguez means Son of Rodrigo. Martínez = Son of Martín. Your statement make non sens.
In Portugal, the names were changed to names of fruit trees, like Oliveira (Olive tree), Figueira (fig tree), Pereira (Pear tree) Portugal was actually the first country to where they fled as refugees to meet their families that already lived here, not long after, they ended up being forced away again, when the Inquisition entered the country as well. They mostly fled to Amsterdam and London, and in Amsterdam there's still a Sephardic synagogue called Synagogue of the Portuguese, built by those who fled the country in the early 16th century.
Thank you for this interesting information. @@Alkusanat
Why do you have a huge picture of an elderly woman sitting in her underwear hanging in the room seems inappropriate.
Did you enjoy the music?
He didn't record the music video that it was taken from. He just put together different clips and did a voiceover.
Они цыгане из Индии.
This is an interesting hypothesis that I have not come across in my research.
😊
No way. You mean gitanos not jews.
The Jews from Spain are not Gypsies from India
Most music from Spain has been influenced by Gypsies. Jewish music from Spain goes back to medieval period.
@@FredricElias-oh2sn Thanks for the info.
spain , portugal it is not our home land , israel is our home land .
Exactly, the Jewish are the real Palestinians, we can see this in the culture the language, even in the face of the people we can see that they are descendants of Abraham
