- I have heard a lot of conversations around offset fill and how it makes engrave times quicker. After some investigation, I found this to be true, however there are some things you need to understand when engraving your laser projects. I cover a couple of scenarios to look out for, plus we also look at the cut shapes tool to optimize shapes for faster engraving on your diode laser.
We covered the basic techniques in this video • Diode Lasers - 3X Fast...
Just a tip. You could also select 'flood fill' under the advantage settings in the cut settings editor. This results in the same time savings with out having to cut the design in half.
Hi Salvador - that is true - I may have mentioned that in another video - but I could be wrong 🙂
Great tutorial! Your mic is excellent, great audio quality. I really like your approach to tutorials and learned a new trick. Thank you!
Thanks for watching - I’m a big advocate of quality audio so thanks for noticing - happy you found it helpful
Thanks a lot
No worries!
I like the cut shape feature time savings. I haven't tryout it yet but will on my next project.
The main thing I personally dont like with offset fill is that it creates deep V's inside the object. At some point i wish their would be a update to stagger the starting points to make the start stop points more hidden.
Thanks Matt - I'll have to look into that one - I don't use offset from the type of stuff I do, but I guess it does have it's place in some projects
Thank you ❤
You’re welcome
I don't care if you are long winded your videos are great to learn from.
Thank you.
Glad that you are finding them helpful
What a neat tip for saving time! I learn something new everyday on TH-cam about the laser.thank you!😁🛫
Happy to help! 'm learning every day too - so I guess that means more videos to come :)
Thank you for sharing.
You're welcome :)
Using the same shape but not splitting in half, could you achieve a similar result by speeding up the white space scan?/ during engraving?
Hi Allan - you can definitely increase the speed of the job by speeding up the white space scan - however - it is still travelling that empty path - whereas this technique eliminates the majority of that empty path making it more efficient in my mind 🙂
@@mrcraftsmith thanks for that Darren I’m relatively new to this hobby but I’ll give your version a try and report back. Thanks for your videos, I find them very easy to follow, not rushed like others I could mention, well done
You’re welcome Allan
Brilliant idea, mate !
Thanks Tim 🙂
