I've had the honor of helping to reclaiming a pioneer-era cemetery near my home that had been neglected for decades. Once we cleared the 8' tall weeds we were able to find old records and map out the graves. (We also found out that a local church owned the cemetery and they have now taken over the maintenance. They are doing a great job!) Sadly, we think that several of the graves are now under a Taco Bell parking lot, but the 100 or so we did find are once again a part of the official history of our city. Everyone deserves to be known. Thank you, Robert, for restoring history and inspiring others to do the same..
Hey Robert! Love all of your videos. Started with the Old Byrd Farm renovations. Adventures into History is excellent. Covers so much history in South Georgia, always, being so respectful of the many historical cemeteries, long forgotten. Continued success!
Hello, I just found your channel, I don't comment very much, but thank you for sharing. I've never heard of a sweet gum tree. Will be checking your other channel. Love anything about history. God bless . 😊
Great that yout cut down some of those evassive sweet gums, which also grow a LOT in North carolina as welll . The cemetery grounds looks so much better with all those sweet gums down, but why I do NOT like battery powered chain saws, cause 1} extra batteries cost money, and a loot of them are expensive! 2} weather related, in cold weather, they die faster and do not hold a charge..for what you pay in batteries alone can get a good gas powered chain saw, and cut in all kinds of weather. But seriously the grounds are looking really nice.. Great job Robert.
An 'Old Stock' Loyalist CanUk I grew up visiting 'rural' graves in 'Gaspie Bay, led there by family who loved their kin and told stories of the interesting ghosts being visited. Some were Anglo-Scots, some Irish-Acadians. Followed all, with dedication, back in time typically to 1600s. Know them. Know some very well thaanks to archives and their remarkable life experiences. Visiting these graves and others, is now like visiting old friends, I'll be joining in time. Hope the records preserved, encourage other visits
Good work. It does look much better. The PHd you earned on the OBF cutting and clearing pays off again. I miss your vests, shirts and hats though. I guess the Jeep and several other things changes the landscape. I have been with you on both channels day one. Hanging on to and with you to see what is coming down the video pike. Morphing and change is the way life goes. Lets go! 👍👍❣❣️
Did you ever chew sweet gum sap with Clark Clove gum? My grandmother used to take me on nature hikes in the 1950s in SE Arkansas. It looks so good with all your cleanup!😊 Glad you avoided the rattlesnake.
That land looks like a real cemetery now! When we first saw it, it didn't look nearly that big. What a difference clearing out those trees made. Loved this video! Love all of your videos. I've been subscribed since early 2017. You've got just the right manner and personality to do this. You're fun to hang out with. I'm so glad you enjoy being a content creator. You're excellent at it.😊 It's so nice of your mom to sort thru stuff at the OBF. I bet she enjoys it, too. I wish her the very best of luck in her treasure hunting! I hope this is her week to find that Confederate Gold the Byrds hid for her to find!🪙
I feel hot, just watching you out there. It looks so good. Is there any way to find out who the people are buried in the un-named graves? I enjoy watching both your channels. You're professional, respectful and funny. I think that's what makes it so interesting. Have a great day, Kate.
In the past we have been able to identify burials in unmarked graves via death certificates. So if they specific they were buried in this cemetery vs the one that adjoins it, it is possible. Of course it would only be a known burial, we wouldn’t know which grave was which still.
Hi Robert. You are doing a great job. Guess I’ve seen all your videos on this channel during all this years. Thank you herefor 🙏 It is difficult to choose the impressions you will show on all your divers channels. Personally I like all the things around the buildings and gardening on the Old Byrd Farm. How much change is going on each time, is why I watch this channel and I dont bother if there is no posting all week. The old cars restaurations and other videos sutch as the cementrys cleanups I’m not very intresstet in. Maby you could start a separat car cannel? I understand that its your passion helping the community and friends that is admirable and very kind of you ❤ Have a bright wintertime, enjoy what you do and take care.🎄
I've enjoyed this project thanks Robert very interesting. It would be very interesting to leaf blow the whole area ( using local volunteers)and more historical graves phaps would be uncovered?

Love and enjoy your videos. May the lord bless and protect you Robert bringing out the past history.
You're doing a wonderful job cleaning up at the farmhouse and the cemetery projects. I enjoy seeing both. Keep doing what you're doing.
I’m glad you enjoy watching both!
And thank you!
See ya where ever you are and whenever you are. I enjoy it all regardless where's it at. Take care and big hugs from Arkansas.
I watched you on the other channel cleaning the cemetery. Great job cleaning and caring for it.
I appreciate it. It’s a lot of work!
The cemetery is looking great Robert. It's too bad more people don't get out and do that once and awhile.
I used to know a Richard Milner who lived in FL & SW GA area. He knew Creek language and was writing a book on place names of native origin .
Thankfull for your mom going through stuff in that room and clearing it out.
Me too

Wonderful job Robert. I'm looking forward to seeing the cemetery refurbished after you are all done. Not a small undertaking for sure.

Hey Robert, you should sow some grass to take over.
Yeah, apparently that’s how it used to be.

Is sweet gum any good as firewood? Just curious. Nice vid Robert!
Where are Blue and his sister?
There’s a big ole rattlesnake in this cemetery, so I left them at home. Blue was at the farm Thursday, and Annie has enjoyed not going to the farm.
She loves it when she’s out there but isn’t a big fan of the riding
is there a risk for wild fire in that area. Just wondering about throwing your cut brush/trees over the fence.
No.
Always carry a Gas powered Chain saw or garden equipment unless your carrying extra batteries for back up lol
Maybe you mentioned it in the first video, but I don't remember. Is that cemetery surrounded by logging lands?
Extra batteries
Was that haircut intentional or a close shave with the chainsaw Robert ? 😲🍻
Chain saw got outta control!
@@THEOLDBYRDFARMVLOG - 😂
Need a rake
Wheres the other Robert?
You need to provide viewers with ear protection from the chainsaw noice. Probably a good idea for you too. Huh, what's that you say? 👍👍👍
It’s not as loud in person, but my mic was right in front of it, but just a few moments of those sweet sweet electric noises 😅
4:19 what’s the title of this? Sounds like the Waltons….
I believe the title was Future King of Heaven
