You know that they can kill you in a heartbeat, right? They weigh up to 1,300 lbs., can run up to 40MPH, are very unpredictable, often aggressive, and sometimes attack for no reason whatsoever. We’re always careful to keep our distance, but have been attacked twice in our own driveway by moose that suddenly charged us from under the trees, where we hadn’t noticed them. One almost killed our dog in our yard. Moose are responsible for more attacks on people in Colorado than any other wildlife, including snakes. They are not “cute” pets, or Disney animals. They can gore you, or stomp you to death, and won’t hesitate a moment to do so, if the mood strikes them!

I hope someday you’ll get to see a moose.. from a safe distance of course! I saw plenty of moose when my family and I went to Yellowstone, bison also. It was amazing there. My brother-in-law had a two story vacation house built outside of Yellowstone, so we can stay there anytime. 😁
The moose is such an beautiful majestic Canadian mammal, they are incredibly intelligent and stoic- and normally don’t intend harm unless threatened or their babies threatened. Let them pass and smell and move on. Because they can roll your car and walk over it with ease. Respecting their strength, appreciate who they are- and they can sense that. Moose encounters are not always so nice. My father was a traveling salesman in his early days and I have heard him and other salesman telling stories of encounter moose on the roads. Dangerous animals when they want to be, and you will not know until it is to late whether they want to be.
I've spent a lot of time around them in Idaho, photographing them. Just don't get in their space. Stay at least 25 yards from them. Bulls will be more aggressive during mating season. Cows will protect their calves, but I've found they often seem to be afraid of me.
@@huntstyle With most animals it is fear that makes them attack. I find the trick is to come upon them slowly if possible, letting them know you are around. Once you enter that fight or flight zone, watch out. They may run, or attack you. .

But for example, just last week I was photographing a cow and her calf while inside my car. They crossed the street in front of me, so I had to get out, because photographing through the windshield results in a very low quality photo. As soon as I opened the door, though, they ran. Not even fully open, just the sound of the latch spooked them.
It pisses me off the wildlife employee's don't put out Salt lick's for them before they get hurt by vehicles on highway's,.what do they do for work? we have one in our City, a wildlife and forest such but all you see is a bunch of cars that never move..do they just sit in office to look important?
His antlers gently bumped into the vehicle's bodywork a handful of times, but it was almost like he was trying not to do so. Very gentle & no damage to the paint!

See TH-cam video, 'Hungry Friendly Moose!' I feed my moose friend hamburger buns. His legs were so long he would kneel down in order reach the buns and bagels I would feed him because his leg's were so long it made it difficult for him to reach them when they were lying on the ground. In my video he was in the process of regrowing a new set of head gear.

You can see Moose/Eurasian Elk in Scotland! The Highland Wildlife Park in the Cairngorms National Park has two, they arrived in 2022.

The outside of the car is crunchie, but the creamy filling inside is yummy.
