I just love these timber wheels as they really do look fantastic. However I live in the north of Australia and after about 15min with the car parked in the sun, I can't touch the wheel. I would have a similar problem with black upholstery. So both of my Jaguars have light sable coloured seats and I have had to fit an expensive leather cover over my X Type steering wheel to avoid the heat problem.
I do recognise that and would do the same in your position. I tend to park appropriately where possible to reduce exposure to the sun in peak summer but thankfully our UV index is low here in southern UK and the screen does a good job of filtering a lot of it out.

The Xf wheel is like the S-Type and has splines rather than a hexagonal fitting so would not be possible to mount directly without modification unfortunately. -Anthony

Is the later single colour coded grille you have fitted a straight swap on the early model that have the kidney chrome grille?
Do you have any info if xf steering wheel (early models) would fit into an X-Type (with facelift wheel) plug and play? Or is it not really doable?
