I used to go there regularly back in the 60's when it was first dirt and then paved for Nascar Grand Nationals. It had a lot more banking back then. LD Ottinger used to own this place in his Orange Chevy Malibu !

When they fire those powerful engines up and they roar to life, feeling the ground rumbling under your feet and smelling race fuel fumes in the air, IT'S AWESOME ❤️🤗 But currently I have no car due to a woman who ran a red light totalling my car this month was 3 years ago and I just had surgery for injuries from the wreck in March this year. I'm praying that my attorney can settle my case some time before the end of this year if the orthopedic doctor turns me loose, then I can get back to going to the dirt track races in person. Yea but I promise you if they squeeze it down to under a half mile the turns will in turn make this track a spitting image of CHEROKEE speedway andTHAT Track was scary fast when I was 12 but after the reconfiguration it really lost some Prestige and Smokey Mountain is like WestVirginia like you said and they are both PRESTIGES TRACKS AND PROLLY 2 OF THE OLDEST TRADITIONAL SIZE DIRT SPEEDWAYS, LEAVE IT AS IS BUT THATS MY OPINION but I back up my claim with saying TENNESSEE HAS 411 I-75 and Great Smokey Mountain ofcoarse Im missing another one for sure maby even 2 so I'm saying Tennesee allready has itsfair share of short tracks and intermediate tracks TENNESSEE,GEORGIA, AND MY HOME STATE NC OF COARSE HAVE THE BEST TRACKS IN THE COUNTRY IN MY BOOK OUR SMOKEY MOUNTAIN HAPPENS TO BE 311SPEEDWAY MADISON NC 1/2 MILE AND REALLY SCRY FAST THEY SEND IT GO TO SPEEDWAY VIDS AND WATCH SUPERMAN turn Laps at 311 that's one of his favorite tracks not to mention his home track

No 1/2 mile is not to big it’s where the big boy race rest stay at home on your kiddy track
