Japan for me is the strongest Asian team as of the moment. Rui Hachimura, Yuta Watanabe, Yudai Baba, and their naturalized player really carried Japan ontop. But aside from Yuta Watanabe and Yudai Baba, their locals need to step up because both the Philippines and China have a really deep pool of talents when it comes to homegrown players. Not to mention the Philippines also have alot of promising full-blooded prospects who play in the US like G League-bound Kai Sotto, Kobe Paras, Cholo Anonuevo, and half-blooded prospects like Sage Tolentino, Lebron Lopez and Aj Edu, etc. Surely some of them are already better than Chikara Tanaka, and other half-blooded Japanese players. Plus their local collegiate stars, like Thirdy Ravena, Ricci Rivero, Rhenz Abando, etc. Only a matter of time when the Philippines will be the top Asian country in the next 3-5 years. But then again, China also has alot of prospects due to their big population.
I think Iran is still better as of the moment I mean they almost beat Spain and Puerto Rico and they're the highest rank team in Asia in the FIBA world cup 2019 that's why they are in the Olympics tho Iran Star players like Haddadi and Bahrami is getting old now

In my opinion for nba he is a good pick just like a lot of other foreigners but in comparison with asian teams and players, he is extraordinary. In nba he prolly faces a lot of challenges since nba has best players from around the world but hey who knows he still has time to improve.
