It had been several months since I did a Google search of Joe's name and on this date, 2/13/2023, I discovered he passed away in September 2022. A true gem to preserving incredible music. His passion for such great music cannot be surpassed.

I met him briefly a few years ago, outside of the old Barbra Fritchie Resturant. Never got to see his collection, even though i live in Frederick! R.I.P. Joe!

I spent many hours in that basement since about 1980 or so. Many friends went with me and I bought records from Joe and his friend Gene Riffle. Many trips to the Barbara Fritchie , Joe took me once to his parents house because they had a large organ in their living room. I played for them that day. I had talked with Joe shortly before he passed, we were going to get together but he sounded so weak and cov*d was still around so we decided to wait. Well, that get together never happened. A great guy, opinionated as all hell but usually right. I miss him.
