It’s incredibly emotional to watch these and I hope it’s never forgotten about the history of mental health and hospitals x

Always well made and documented . Every time you release a new documentary about a Mental Health Facility . Whether it has or has a dark past . It’s so important for others to learn and understand the importance and plight of those who suffer from Mental and/Or Emotional Illness as I have my whole life and it hasn’t always been easy as I Months in Facility at least 7 times in my life as recently as 2012. As far back as the early 1970s. When I was just a Child . People need to learn and understand that we are human beings with value and heart s full of love and Compassion also for others . Thank you so much for your continued good work and dedication . Always a Dedicated Subscriber and believe in your work Laura ❤😊 Happy Holidays Season Thanksgiving & Christmas 🎄 🎉 and a Happy NewYear 2025 ❤😊🎉🎉

Thank you so much for having taken the time to both watch and then comment upon this video - I continue to be both amazed and humbled by the comments that viewers leave in which they share their own personal experiences and histories. This is something that I can relate to personally because I myself have had to spend time in 5 different psychiatric institutions in 3 different states before finally having to be declared officially disabled on both psychological and physical grounds (I suffer from a physical brain dysfunction that manifests itself along more psychological lines). We are the mentally ill and the mentally disabled - we are our own people, we have our own history, it needs to be remembered, and it must be learned from. And seasons greetings and all the best holiday wishes to you, as well 🙂

The cage is horrifying. 😢 thanks again for your work. I go through so many emotions each time I watch -I can’t imagine what it is like for you.

I've been aware of the history behind the Utica Crib cage for some time as it pops up in my research rather frequently...I did find it particularly interesting that one of the few historic examples of surviving today resides at the museum on this facility's grounds, though. It's truly hard to imagine being confined in such an aberration for any length of time...and yet people were 😔 And thank you so much for having taken the time to both watch and comment upon this video- these things mean more than you know and accomplish more than you might imagine :-)
