Holy shit, I was not expecting a lyric change still so true to the original media! 'Voices in my head'?! Sticking with the theme! 'Berate and hate on me'?! I love how this still gives the 'anxious to the point of self-loathing/suicide' vibe the original song gave, but is also an important message in and of itself, that depressed thoughts are 'voices in your head' that can be learnt to get used to and not have them affect you, if you see them as disconnected from yourself, which I think is one of the whole messages about the musical told in a tiny little line. Holy heck.

It's a little different than in the previews/off-broadway version though. (spoiler) Rich sings part of Halloween while glitching out and crying, and then he says "If I can't get you out of my head...then I'll burn you out." He exits the stage and it immediately goes into The Smartphone Hour.

I realized that George Salazar also does the thing where he unintentionally tries to push his glasses up without using his hands, he just wrinkles his nose (i can't describe it very well, you can see it at 4:19) and I love that because I do it too but I've never seen anyone else do it. It's just a tiny thing but now I don't feel so alone with doing it anymore
I got to see this show right before it closed. My niece who is 11 highly recommended it. I don't think this show would only appeal to teenagers and college age kids. I highly enjoyed the show and I am in my later 30s.. The show was super unique IMO. And 'Michael in the Bathroom' is definitely my favorite musical number from the show. That said, I can understand how this shows might not appeal to most of the elderly audience. I think technology confuses many elderly people (not all but many). I don't know that many of them would understand the concept behind the show. FE, my grandma and my mom would never understand this show...computers, smart phones, The Matrix, etc are completely out of grandma's grasp of understanding while my mom pretends to understand but she can only use very basic functions on her smart phone and computer and even then she has to ask tons of question. But I think it could definitely appeal to anyone who understands technology, and who doesn't understand about the pressures of trying to 'fit in' during high school'.
