Be careful. Korean raw chestnuts are edibles, but not the european or american ones (or that's what I have heard).

Judy, en España se comen asadas: se las corta un pedacito primero a cada una para que no exploten en el fuego sobre una cazuela con agujeros. También se hacen cocidas en agua y de las dos formas están buenísimas.

Never had a raw chestnut. I guess because tradition dictates we roast them around the holidays, so it never occured to me to have them any other way. I aso thought they were too hard to eat raw.
