The critics of neuralink only hate neuralink because of Elon, they have no care in the world for medical advancements that can benefit people with debilitating neurological conditions… I wonder if the FDA has political motivations sometimes but I’m glad they’re still pushing through, I think Neuralink will come out ontop for never giving up, there’s no other companies out there doing BCI technology and getting flamed for pushing the boundaries on what could be possible. The medical applications for this will be amazing, I think it will be the next greatest thing to the invention of the MRI machines, with BCI technology, we will be able to see more, that will enhance how we see structural changes and the mechanisms behind more neurological diseases I feel like… I might be wrong but this is my hope because I just want medical science to better, it’s in a rough spot atm

I like the idea of Neuralink but the reality is there could be tons of problems with it. If you were to ask me instead of implanting a chip in your brain it would be better to have glasses or a watch of some sort with the same perks. Though it may be more complicated implanting a chip in your brain is far to risky and violates health policies.

What the FDA should do is make a contract with Neuralink and allow specifically three clinical human trials to be monitored for 5 years. If there are little to no adverse effects of the implants, they can go from there. And these humans must be approved of the following criterias: Complete loss of vision, hearing, smelling, speech, motor paralysis, spinal paralysis and various absent or amputated or loss limbs. By being vague and simply prolonging the progress does not benefit anyone. Neuralink's method is inherently invasive but in comparison to other competitors, it is the best method currently as of 29.03.2023.

in addition you yourself might decide to fork yourself, so a copy of your mind will do everyday work for you, and you will say that this is not you because you are not one whole. Imagine waking up in a virtual academy where you have to study for the next 10.000 years, and the original bastard version of you told you to do so, and they even believe that simulations cannot be real humans.

When you upgrade the first few people, you need to make sure they aren't like most people and will do crazy nonsense just because. It is an immense responsibility to gain endless abilities. To be able to do anything and not oppress anyone. Respect life and true freedoms. But, I'd be constantly upgrading everything if I get the extraordinary honor to get upgraded.

wouldn't FDA response have something to do with the ammount of deaths of pigs, monkeys and so? Miguel Nicolelis has been very critic about this and talked about how the process of testing stuff in animals demands a lot of caution, as 2 deaths would normally be enough to shut down a whole research.
