The dimmer light is so much better! Also the sample and beat were 🔥
Thanks man yeah it was a lot easier to see the pads so may do it more in future! Thanks for the feedback 🙌
Such a great and helpful vid! Thanks as always!
So many features of the SP404MK2 in a 10 minutes video ! Thanks a lot for that !!
There’s something so chill over beatmaking videos with just music and texting, great vid! P.s you can turn off the «Operation complete» and everything will feel/be much quicker😉
Thanks a lot! Just managed to find the setting and have turned it off now!
Extra chill beat! 🥶🌌🌃
You said it was about the process, but I do enjoy the vibes! Great to see how a longer piece with a less beat-like feel can be put together.
Excellent!!
nice man new to the sp world with the mk2 and dope to see the workflows thanks!
Super appreciate this video! Thank you for putting it together
No problem 🙌
Dope ! U R A Genius with the 404 !
🙏🙏🙏
I learned more from this video just watching you do this, and see the actual application of the different techniques. Helpful!
Glad to hear it man, thanks for watching!
nice work 👍
You’re the best, man. I’m trying to love the MKII like I loved my SX, your videos are the only ones that are demystifying it for me. Just bought the 4 pack combo. Keep it up!
Appreciate the support my guy! Glad I'm helping you out
I love you chop like the old times on the sx
very pleasant to watch someone else jam! thanks
🙌
Good vibe 😜
Good stuff man. Quantize the first kick saves the day
For sure 🙌
Yo FYI, shift+gate will turn on/off the gate for a whole bank
Got my daily dose of spvidz time to make some beats
Hell yeah man! Hope you had fun
👌
🎉
Great use of the 2 mfx. I need to do that more, sometimes it's a pain resampling all the chops. Your packs still on sale?
Sale has finished sorry man! There’s still deals on there though 👍
Lovely and simple beat! Got to practice. By the way, what site do you recommend for skins?
the one here is available on my site spvidz.com or check out cremacaffe.shop who made mine. They have some more options on theirs 👍
SPiced
I'm glad someone noticed 😀
What did you use to pitch shift the sample? Was it the DJ Effects Looper, or something else?
Check out around 0:40 I use the built in pitch feature on the MK2
Just ordered a 404 I will be rewatching a lot of your vids thanks for the content. Do you have a course?
Nope just the vids I drop here at the moment
Hey I have a question. Do you know why the mk2 reduce the volume when you resample Sounds?
If you're not on the latest software version (I'm currently on 1.14 at time of writing) try updating as I'm not having that problem any more. I was previously but I've just tried it again and its working great!
Yoooo Where do u connect the rca plugs ? To speakers ? Or interface?
To an interface but you can also use usb with the mk2 which is a lot easier. I just have to use the interface so I can monitor my Mic and sp at the same time 👍
I have been playing around saving a few patterns and noticed that when I edit the bpm of a pattern it edits the bpm of all the patterns. Is BPM for all the patterns or bank or am I missing something here.
You can set a bpm per bank I believe. Not sure how to do it off the top of my head but there is an option for that somewhere I’m sure
Using the chop mode, makes it faster to grab your chops than this then you can fine tune them after.
Correct however a few people have been asking if you can still chop ‘manually’ so I have been showcasing it a bit lately. I can see pros and cons to both. The chop feature is cool though
@@spvidz I much prefer the chop feature as it reminds me more of the MPC and that’s how I originally learnt how to sample. But fair enough if it’s how some people still want to work. What do think could be improved about the “chop”?
Nice man! I keep forgetting there’s an envelope now. Hey, since I updated the firmware, when I resample, the volume is much lower it seems. I’m not sure what’s up. Anyone else experience this? And is there a workaround so the volume stays the same when I resample onto a new pad?
Few people have been saying this. I'm not experiencing it myself...very odd.
@@spvidz yeah man I don't get it. I need to dig in to it more to see what's up, it's just annoying.
Are the pads nicer than the sp404sx
They feel very different but I prefer them. They are very firm now but to me thats a lot better for finger drumming. I think they will last a lot longer as well
So you can make a beat from start to finish just using this device?
Yo man, check out my latest vid. Its quite a lot of talking but it will give you a good idea of how to get beats finished on this box - th-cam.com/video/EYFGOJyva4I/w-d-xo.html
41 seconds early!
I love these quick edited, no talking, captioned styled videos!
Thanks man! I am going to be doing more as I get a lot of positive feedback about them ✌️
Is there a way to sample from youtube/instagram/spotify etc LIVE without having to convert and export into the SP? I really liked Dibiase's mk2 vid where he was sampling parts of songs from Spotify on-the-go he would simply press record on the SP and have anything he wanted from Spotify straight into the SP.. I tried to do this by connecting my SP to my macbook but I'm not getting any output? I'm sure I'm just being an idiot and theres a simple routing step which I'm missing here??
usb-c to usb-c cable works with my windows laptop, and with my android smartphone. for the ipad, i have to use an usb c to usb a to camera connection lightning adapter.
@@jovwrath thanks for response but still no luck for me :( I've got usb-c to usb-c cable connecting SP to Macbook. the Mac recognises the SP as a usb device but there is no sound even after changing all sound output on Mac to the SP usb device? Surely that's all I need to do or am I missing something?
@@peakingmantis5331 Hi. Find out if your usb c 2 usb c cable is for charging only or if it can transmit data as well. There is a difference in these cables. Maybe that is the problem that you're experiencing. Regards DD.
@@DD_Franks I didn't have Ext Source on lol feel like such an idiot haha sorry guys I'm really new to the SP workflow I really appreciate the responses!
@@peakingmantis5331 Glad you found the problem. Enjoy your SP. It's really an inspiring tool. Take care. DD
I pre-ordered my SP 404 MK2 last October. Did not received it yet. :(
Good beat bro.
Ah man I hope it turns up soon. Thanks for tuning in
does anyone know what that sample is?
I have a question... how do you mix the beat you made in the mk2? I have always had this doubt.
because if you listen to the kick drum at a considerable volume, it will distort.
What is the correct process to release a beat to the world from your roland mk2 and make it sound "decent" in terms of mixing? Is it possible to do this without a computer involved?
its completely personal. Some just take a vanilla recording out of the SP, some export all the bits and rearrange and mix in the DAW. Its all down to personal preference really
