I saw this cat years ago in Las Vegas. He opened for Steve vai and they jammed together on stage for a while in the end. Eric was matching Steve's licks note for note all on the slide. If you've seen and heard Steve you know how intense he is but Eric cut heads with Steve no problem

Sardines he says don't worry you will like him He opened for Johnny winners. At the belly up. And just absolutely blew away, Johnny. Eric is freaking great. He mixes all music together. And plays those slide dobras If you ever have a chance to see him go do it 100%.!! Now I do some of his songs, LO. L. Rocky and the Hurricanes !!!!!

fuckin bad ass. i see now what's wrong with my slide guitar playing. I've only tried 60mm slides, way too long a slide. his is only at his first knuckle. 51mm. that's why it's been so hard!
It’s just…a lot of noise. He learned a couple of licks and plays them fast and loud. It’s entertaining for sure, but he’s not really that great of a player.
I don’t get it. He just kinda does the same thing in every song, and his “wild” slide playing is not really musical, or artful...it’s all pretty basic slide riffs just played really fast.
@@ekraszewski you’re right, me not having a video of myself playing slide proves this guy’s great. He’s not. He can play slide, but not at the level he, or you, thinks. Not telling you to not enjoy his music, just pointing out the obvious fact that he’s not some kind of slide guitar god. He’s a hack. He’s a better singer than slide player.
@@MrIgorek13 try Jeff Lang, Charlie Parr, Leo Kottke,Kelly Joe Phelps, Chris Whitley for resonator slide players. Their styles are all different, but each can play slide at a much higher level than this guy. You might still like Eric’s music better, and that’s fine…but he’s just not that great of a player-which, also I should add, you don’t HAVE to be a virtuoso player to make enjoyable music. My point in the original comment was not to trash Eric himself, he’s out there playing music he loves and has a fan base, but more to point out that he’s objectively NOT a guitar god or some type of virtuoso slide player…he’s just fast and loud, a showman who plays a guitar and a style that most people don’t hear much of, so they go nuts thinking he’s the best there is.

Saw Sardinas in SoCal about 12 years ago or so. It was one of the most incredible performances I've ever had the privilege to witness.
