Please do an Asics Novablast 5 vs NB Rebel v4 vs Adidas Evo SL. When you do, please advise on the toe box width of the Adidas Evo SL. Fine work young man, fine work.
@@EDDBUD Thank you for the info....but, a review on the Asics Novablast 5 vs. Adidas EVO SL would be a good one. I have the Novablast 5 on order already and am intrigued by the Adidas Evo SL, but my concern is a too tight toe box in the Adidas...based on past experience. If you have already worn the Adidas Evo SL and the Boston 10's, if you are able to write me the toe box width difference of these two shoes, it would be appreciated. I had the Adidas Adizero SL and sold them, because toe box felt too constraining.

The Velocity Nitro 3 is the fastest of the list for me. That is simply because the grip is 10x better vs. The Adidas and Nike shoes. And that grip helps to run faster and keep running fast while the Adware in the forefoot slides too much when picking up the pace. That in dry conditions. The Nova Blast 5 might be the second best grip in higher speeds. And it is less bulky vs the NB4 that should help to make the newer shoes to be faster in general.
Absolutely love my SL2s but the novablast 5 does seem quite tempting. Although I think I need a max stack shoe for my rotation next and I’m leaning towards the more v5. How does the nb5 compare to that one Edd?
It almost sounds like the Pegasus plus is closer to the novablast based on the foam and build (although not price at $40 difference in the US), and perhaps the peg 41 would be closer to the gel cumulus at this point
I will never buy another Nike Running Shoe. I remember having 2 pairs in my high school years that had really poor durability or just plain shoddy quality. Fast forward some 20 odd years later and I bought a pair of pegasus 39 flyease and a pair of 40s on sale on the nike website. With probably less than 100 km run on each shoe, the outsoles began to peel off. I have glued them back on and relegated them to work shoes. As was the case in the early 2000s, the quality is just not at up to scratch.
In just a few days I'll put my nose into the "white stuff"...no misunderstandings...😇 I'm talking about doing my own smell test on the NB 5 (all white)!👃Happy Running @ll🙋
Regarding the Novablast 5 outsole, they always produce a TR (trail/road) version with a more grippy substantial outsole which will probably be a much better option for the dismal British weather
Recent personal experience, resumed running with Gel Kayanos, coming from peroneal tendinitis / high arches. As pain improved, switched and now using Foreverrun for easy runs (noticeably more fun) and Saucony Tempus for threshold type runs (nimbler) Agree Puma grip is the best of all these
Who dared slander Puma?! I've had all three iterations of the Velocity, the Deviate Nitro Elite 1 & 2, and the Magnify, all well past 600km and still excellent. Only retired any of them because I felt like something different 😅
Hi Edd, last novablast i got were the 2's and not impressed, very mushy just drained all the energy out of my legs. But these seem better...i don't enjoy girthy galoshers though, are they more nimble than they look? And on a side note, just got back from seeing some tremendous guitars, bass, drum funk rock n roll beauty of Khuangbrin live in Manchester...😎👌🏾 Keep groovin Edd 🎸!
I need a daily trainer right now, one all arround shoe (tempo, easy runs, long runs, fartlek, hill workout etc)... but i don't know if i should wait for the Novablast 5 for 150 euros, or if i should go for the black friday deals and get the Adidas SL2 for 93 euros or the Puma Velocity Nitro 3 for 83 euros. What do you think, thanks.
@@EDDBUD Thank you Ed! I just got the SB2 delivered today. I might hold off on wearing them outside and comparing it between the NB5 to see which feels better
Hi ed! There's a wide version of adizero Sl2 in manila. i think distribution is dependent on the population of widefoot people, since most of us are widefoot here. 😂
Dankeschön! I have the SL 2 and I absolutely love that shoe! I think, I will love the Nova 5, too 😁 1st of Dec is coming soon 😀 What about the Hoka Mach 6 in comparison with the Nova 5?
Just picked up some Adidas Supernova Gore Tex from ASOS for £60 (using a discount code available on their website). Candidate for running shoe deals perhaps?
I bought a pair of Puma Magnify Nitro 2 because your hype and the right side feels defective ...and i see heaps of people trying to re-sell them dirt cheap in worn once condition in New Zealand so not just me...
Maybe it’s time to swap out my Novablast 3s for the 5s. I really enjoy my 3s but they are getting a bit tired now. I look forward to the smell of Mole Valley Farmers.
Novablast 1 is the GOAT 🐐, but it had some flaws. I can't help but feel that ASICS is nerfing the later versions 2, 3, and 4 just don't hit the same. Currently enjoying the SL2 and it is the closest to novablast 1 as it gets. i think i will skip this one.
I have the Peg as my gym shoe 😂 I use it for my circuit training and S/C sessions. Personally I wouldn't ever buy them as a running shoe, far better options out there for running IMO
@ that’s my take on it as well. Now I don’t have the peg’s. And I’m set with Asics at the moment with a Nimbus 25, SB2 and Metaspeed sky Paris. Looking to broaden my options and trying other shoes, but never would I ever consider the peg’s. I think Nike has done marvellous work with the Alpha fly 3 and Vapor Fly 3. But that’s it. Maybe the invincible 3, but there are better options which are cheaper, and looks better. I’m a one person brand kinda guy, I prefer to try not to mix up brands too much. And until 2019 it was all Nike for sportswear. But I haven’t bought anything from Nike in the last 4 years anymore. I might pick up some tanks and shorts but that’s it.
@stephenwouw8624 Same really. I own a pair of Alphafly's, buy the odd running tee or shorts every now and then but when it comes to running shoes in tend to go with Adidas and Asics. Recently picked up the Brooks Glycerin max and the jury is still out on that one, only done one 15 mile run in them so far, but hoping it feels a bit better the more I use it. Nike got lazy with their daily shoe offering in my opinion, however that Alphafly is in a special league 😂
Pumas not durable - who ever said that their only experience with puma rinning shoes is window shopping Only issues with puma is fit - to narrow for many runners to fit in most offerings - sadly
5:40 who tf said this 😂 I’ve taken my velocity 3s on technical mountainous trails, rain storms, snow, and road for 300 miles with hardly any wear on the outsole. Literally beat the piss out of them. They are tanks.
Really enjoying the Pegasus 41. It's no fuss. Loved the Puma Velocity nitro 2 but just can't get on with the 3. Personally, I get hot spots right under the ball of the foot. Runs very narrow. I've never tried any of the novablast. Always thought the outsole was lacking, especially for Irish weather conditions.
@EDDBUD 2 questions for you, Edd, if you don't mind. 1. How does that heel in the zoom fly 6 affect the stability? 2. If you had to have just 1, would you go for the Mach X2, endorphin speed 4, Deviate Nitro 3 or the zoom fly 6?
Novablast good for heavy runners who need more protection. SL2 best for picking up speed. Velocity good all rounder. Pegasus good no bells workhorse
The GOAT shoetuber wearing a GOAT shirt. Serendipitous 🐂
Adidas evo SL will be a really interesting comparison indeed, looking forward to it!
I agree with your assessment of Pumagrip. Best I’ve experienced.

This, the Superblast 2 and a metaspeed of choice and that's a running shoe rotation no other brand can beat right now
Asics bringing the serious performance this year.
I've got a pair of the velocity v2s (which I really like) and don't find them narrow, has this changed between v2 and v3?
Many find the toebox fit very narrow due to the taper
If I've been running in the nova 4 as a daily trainor would you say this is better daily shoe?
A little more versatile this time out. Bit more zest in this one
Please add in the comparison/testing list the HOKA Mach 6, price is also in the same bucket
Don’t have that shoe to test sadly

Sadly this one always drops when the winter is on the way out 👍🏼
There is a wide version of SL2. Its only wider on the toebox area though
Thanks for confirming
The SL2 was/is, in fact, offered in a Wide version as was its predecessor.
Good spot
What about a comparison with the Endorphin Speed 4? And the Noosa Tri 16?
Quite a different shoe to the speed 4. Less rigid I but oddly just as good going faster
Off topic, but have you tried the puma foreverrun? It seems pretty interesting and has some cool tech in it, I would like to see it get more attention
Stability niche shoes don't get much attention compared to neutral ones it seems.
Yes tried those out on release. Not bad at all.

How does the midsole compare to the vomero 17, triumph 21 and foreverrun nitro?
