I have an old backup file from other site, now I wanted to import some of my posts from the old backup to a new site. so How can I done thant? Thanks a lot.
Hey there Sean, so this the answer for how to not pay for uploading larger file from a backup? forgive me but I’m trying to figure out why I would want to do this. I guess what I’m asking is could you give some context for why you need to do this. thanks
First, thank you for watching. This is a great question. Typically, you wouldn't need to do this as the normal process for restoring a WordPress site would be to install a fresh version of WordPress. Then go and install the All-in-One WP Migration Plugin and then do an import of the .wpress files to restore your original WordPress site. I would use this tool when I'm trying to get to all of the website files that you would normally see or use for your web hosting. For instance, I was wanting to play with putting all of these files into Google Drive to see if I'd have any success running a WordPress site by hosting all of the files in Google Drive. I don't think you are going to need this tool very often, but I wanted to share a video for it just in case. Does that make sense?
I would use one of the older versions of All-in-One WP Migration. There are TH-cam videos that walk through how to tweak the settings in an older version so that it allows for larger file sizes, as large as you need. Do a search for How to Increase Maximum Upload Size in All in One WP Migration. This is the only way I know of with free tools. Or, you could ditch WordPress and go to Systeme.io. :)
Exceptionally easy way to extract the .wpress files.. thank you!
