There have been several attempts over the years to grow something like this here in the U.S. There have been some cool series started, with some specialized race trucks similar to these. I don't know the reasons that it didn't take off.

I find truck racing to be about as boring as watching paint dry. Added to that misery was the "Race To The Death" dialog that kept getting faster and faster and faster (outpacing the trucks by now) until one collapsed and had to be revived with oxygen.
@@gustavojack3012 bem explicado, quando ouvi radar eu também fiquei meio confuso, mas aí eu pensei um pouco mais e cheguei a conclusão que não são carros de fórmula 1 cheios de tecnologia, mas sim caminhões com stickers que ainda pesam 3 toneladas e que se forçar de mais o freio, ele vitrifica e perde.
