+Sturla S Thanks for this! Oh my gosh I remember watching this on tv way back then with my Dad, we loved it!! Got tickled at one point and we wondered what went on that we couldn't see when Kris rolled his eyes back at something that one of them did! Perfect timing for me as Dad is in the hospital not doing so well and this gives me good memories!!! :)
Thank you for posting this. These women and men still sing my life and help me work through all the big issues. Thank you outlaw country music. I'm listening in 2024. Who else is with me?
The man is an Absolute genius! My favourite was Waylon because of that distinctive voice, though Mr Cash was a very close second but when it comes to all round quality there’s none better than Kris… There’s no doubt Willie is great but I just can’t get to grips with the way he speeds every lyric up 🤣 like sing the song man, no need to be rapping 🤦♂️
I don't understand why so many people are arguing about who is the 'best' in the comments here, it would be the last thing any of them would wish us to do. I love listening to each of them, they are all amazing in their own way. R.I.P. Johnny and Waylon........and Kris.😪
DMSJagXK, I So totally Agree with you there’s nothing to compare we have grown up 🆙 with so many different fantastic artists in the world 🌎 of music 🎶 Just have a larger appreciation for them ❣️❣️❣️💯✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻🙏🙏🙏🥰
I'm 13 and only two of these great people are alive in my lifetime, but I prefer them over any other singers. They sing with a whole lot more emotion than any other singers, they actually make music that sounds great, and they make music that touches the soul. Because of this, to me, they are the best singers I have ever heard.
I’m a 60’s rock and roll country girl, never liked country, found it to heart breaking and sad. Well at almost 70, I’ve come to appreciate the country music talent the last five years! When I think about it I’ve been blessed with the musicians and music I’ve had in my lifetime, that so many years later I come here to listen to it over again and discover performances like these fine gentlemen! I feel sad for the younger generation who really don’t have the sound of real music and long lasting performers. If the option is still available when they are my age there won’t be much to listen to and admire. No flashy videos, no lip syncing or outrageous costumes, just plain old talent playing their songs! And for those complaining about Chris’s singing, to me he is that guy at a house party who whips out his guitar and entertains you with songs and you sing, clap and dance to and love. Not as smooth or vocally talented as the others but a hell of a songwriter! And he believes in him self!
My husband was always a huge Johnny Cash fan, then later became fascinated with Willy Nelson but my man has always been Waylon since the late ‘50s, a real man’s man he was and I could listen to him for hours…what a voice and personality he had. Sure miss you but still listen often Waylon ❤️ Kriss, what a talented artist and gentleman he is, love all the amazing songs he has written…they are all so wonderful. When I need to forget all my wows I come here here and everything else just melts away. So much talent on one stage. R.I.P. Waylon and Johnny, we still love you 🇨🇦
While I was stationed in AZ, I had a second job in Mesa, and went to Waylon's Club across from ASU and I met both Waylon and Willie Nelson. It was a great experience. Later on when I changed branches of services and went to Fort Sam Houston and we went t0 Austin, Texas for one of Willie's 4th of July picnics. Another awesome experience.
Mom and Dad introduced me to the music of these four pillars of Country music and here I am at the age of 60 still tapping my foot like I did in Mom’s womb 💕
This is a wonderful group of men that I wish that I could have seen in person, I never had the privileg. I do have their cds. They were all very talented people. We are still fortunate in 2022 to HAVE WILLIE AND KRIS
I would have loved to see these guys perform but I never got the chance. The only one I have seen is Johnny. My mom took me to see him for my birthday one year when we lived in Wisconsin. My mom carried a note up to the stage telling Johnny that it was my birthday and he sang Happy Birthday to me in the middle of the concert. Something I will never forget.
That is a great memory to have. I was sick with bacterial meningitis which wiped out much of my memory. Luckily many of them are starting to return. I worked concert security in Chicago back in the 80s and 90s. I got to kick a lot of butt, throw out many jerks and even have a few arrested. It was a part of the job. We carried handcuffs at places like the Aragon Ballroom and we used them. There were so many fights they called that place the "Brawlroom". If the show was sold out and we would eject 5 or 6 people before the headline act came on, they would sell 5 or 6 more tickets. Three bus loads of us went from Chicago to Woodstock 94 to work Security. We had "All Access" wristbands and could go anywhere we wanted. We had to be in there the first night since they opened the gates and the crowd was coming in. These three guys were drunk and got in the wheel chair potties that were fenced on three sides. They could figure out how to get out so the climbed on top of one of the potties and jumped over the fence. One guy broke his ankle. I think that was the last time they could get an ATV into the place. His friends were telling him, "Don't worry. We will sell your ticket."

Yes Waylon is gone too. These 4 are the greatest. True to their talents, each other and giving of themselves to the fans. Pure unaltered musicians, each a legend in their own way. Love them 💕
My father has passed away 3 months ago and he had an amazing taste in music. Until i started going through his old LP's I had never heard of the highwaymen - I am hooked now. Bringing tears to my eyes now as I can recall dad with his headphones on singing these songs.......

i saw them at the Mirage in 1990. I imagine it was very close in time to when this show was recorded. I was 11 years old. It was a dinner show. We had the table front and center and my elbow was on stage the whole time. At the end, Willie walked over and shook my hand. I still remember it like it was yesterday. Was amazing introduction to these Legends as a young kid.

I was born in 83...found these guys (as a group) when I was about 25 after I had fell in love with all of them individually! Best super group EVER! Please we can't let younger generations forget about these legends! Check out a band called BlackBerry smoke and yelawolf with shooter Jennings! 👍✌ Please let me know what u think!
I don't know why people don't think that Kris belongs on stage with Waylon, Johnny, and Willie, he is every bit as much a legend as them, and personally, I like the way he sings and performs.
How could you ask for any better these four men are legends in their own right ,but to put the four of them together it just doesn't get any better .Each man as their own style but it all comes together in this concert .They are the last of a dying breed .There will never be the likes again .Chris fits right in with these legends ,just listen to Johnny Lobo and tell me he is not worthy to share this stage with three legends such as Willy, Waylon and Johnny. Proud of all these men this is what country music is built on.
yeah they re together showing best consent country music. But now its sad for Johny and Willon had passed away several years jago left Christ and Willy. But their performance never
That was my dad's favorite song to play and sing. I miss those days when I was younger living in Clemmons NC on highway 158. And I really dislike cancer with a passion.
I was lucky enough to see them live in Ohio. They're were even GREATER in person! It was the best live performance I had ever seen, or have seen since.. WAYLON JENNINGS, was a complete RIOT, as was KRIS KRISTOFFERSON! The song WRONG was great. I've never seen Shooter Jennings live, but he played his father very well in the movie..
The best of the best, the greatest of the great that can be! I will forever find this collection of men to be the epitome of what real country music is all about!
We lost the 3rd Outlaw Highwayman. RIP Kris, Johnny and Waylon. Willie remains. I'm beginning to feel really old. I will always love my highwaymen. I will see you on the other side someday. True Legends no matter how long ago they died they will live forever in our hearts and through their music.
This are the most country folks we miss Kenny we even lost Johnny cash but we always feel shivers listening this they are four musqueteeres of real country
I'm sittin' here at 4:30am on a Winter Saturday night - thought I'd wind down after watching PBR at Madison Square Garden. I'm 69 years old, been watchin' and hearin' these guys all my life. I've never seen - and never hope to see - a more moving performance. Who cries while they're watching a country music video? I'm proud to say, "I do!"
Nothing like them , never will be again... someone bubble wrap Willie , love them all , Amazing talent ,what music should be .. I have to admit born in New Orleans love a lot of different music ..but these here men will always be in my heart ;)
Watching this April 2021 during the Covid Pandemic. What a truly wonderful way to spend my time at home listening and watching these four legendary singers. The musicians are also fantastic. What a privilege to be able to watch this for free. Thank you so much for posting. Angela in the UK.
Hi Angela ~ I’m a COVID survivor too ~ even though I’m retired and disabled now, I have spent many hours watching & listening to the artists & music I love and care about. I grew up on Real Country. My Daddy (RIP) used to let me play his records on a big black radio. I propped up a mirror and started singing! He was so proud of me that he became a big fan of his baby’s performances! 🥹 These performers were the stars back then ~ 🌟 ⭐️ ♥️M
I had the same disease diabetes that took out Waylon Jennings. So I can totally relate some of the struggles he did the last part of his life and believe me it ain't fun. I respect Waylon Jennings, I've listened to all these guys songs all my life and they are awesome. I've seen them in concerts and on videos at 57 years old I still love them
I've listened to Waylon & Johnny since my early 20s when my Dad introduced them to me, now in mid 60s and still love them. Seen them in concert a few times in UK and Australia and they were brilliant. RIP Waylon & Johnny and thank you so much for the music.
In a world where words such as " legend","genius" etc are bandied about like snuff at a funeral, given to anyone who can stand on stage, what a delight to see these 4 boys performing/playing/enjoying their collective talents.Genius, legend all 4 of them.Their talent won`t be seen for a long time to come,if ever.Play on men, play on!
The Highwaymen concert series is one of the biggest and best trees, in the forest of not only country music history, but, moreover, music history...The four main, magnificent and massive branches of this majestic, giant tree - Johnny, Willie, Waylon and Kris - covered the stage and their huge audiences, with soothing, sweet, seductive, sombre and spectacular shades of nostagic bliss, comfort, good vibes, humour and inspiration, through their solo and collective renditions of some of the greatest songs and musical rhythms ever written, recorded, produced, played and sung...Rest in Peace, Johnny and Waylon, and keep on keeping on, Willie and Kris...You are/were all legends, individually, and, having come together to do "The Highwaymen", you - Johnny, Waylon, Willie and Kris - left us with a "Ring of Fire", that, we can enjoy, from each and every midnight on Monday to the first second of each and every "Sunday Morning Coming Down", because the songs you guys wrote and sung, are, "Always On My Mind"...No wonder "My Heroes Have, Always, Been Cowboys"!
Such pros these singers are. They can out write, out sing, and out perform so many "artists" of today across all genres of music. Just great performers! Go Waylon, Johnny, Willie, and Kris!
@@sandravaux4668 These musicians sang their songs so well, because they knew the pain and the love, the good times and the bad, and wanted to get their messages across to us. Listen closely my friends, for they spoke the truth from their hearts. People nowadays are so two-faced and never step-up and speak the truth, even when they know it's causing another person's TOTAL destruction. Hold on tight, for the times are a changing. The TRUTH, should, and WILL, find you. It may HURT you, but will not be as bad as the pain people inflict upon others by the games they play, by not being totally HONEST thru out their lifetime, to those they supposedly love. SAD.......🔥😎
BIGJERRR1 YOU WILL NEVER EVER SEE ANYTHING LIKE THIS AGAIN. IT JUST HAPPENS. EVERY SO OFTEN SOMETHING HAPPENS THAT IS JUST TOO RIGHT TO BE WRONG. THAT IS WHAT THESE GUYS ARE.

Always come back to this........ open heart surgery from four (4) legends, poets, really. When Johnny looks into the camera, you'd think he was in the room, the connection is incredible. Band is hotter than a bandit's pistol.
These four were great together and by themselves. It's a shame we've lost them all, but I can tell you one thing! *_I'm going to thoroughly enjoy the entertainment when I get to heaven!_*
Oh Waylon, a great singer/musician with an amazing voice and sound. He had a great sense of humor, always joking and making people laugh. Like Jessie said: "He had a heart bigger then Texas!" And damn he was good looking ;)
He was stunning. A raconteur, while simultaneously a gentleman. Courtly, southern masculine and eyes that danced with a waltz, the jitterbug and down & dirty dancin’ all glittering behind them.
Lord this brings memories. Wish my daddy was still here with us. I'm now 63 and miss the times my dad and I would have listen and sing all these great song. I'd play my guitar and we'd have a beer or two 😂 Those were the great days. I even sung in honky tonks for a couple of years. Memories I will always have.
WOW. Of these Giants of Country Music only two are still with us. Kris Kristofferson who is 79 years old and still performing and Willie Nelson who recently turned 80 years old and still performing. God love them both. You just don't find artists like this anymore.
2024, September. Willie is going thru a rough health spell and off the road. He is sending out this band to play some dates and hopes to be strong enough to do Farm Aid again this year. Let's all send love and strength to him and his caregivers. Get better, Willie.
We have lost the renowned singer-songwriter Chris Christopher. Aug/24.. The world gets colder. Sweet Baby James, Rita Couledge , Let's keep them in our prayers also. Our generation X , the generation of free love and the hippy-dippy Weatherman, George Carlin, are long gone. PEACE everyone.
I have personally met and interviewed Willie. I also did technical lighting for Johnny and June Carter Cash many years ago. I can honestly say they were probably the most talented and genuinely nice people I ever had the opportunity to meet. Once you see their high energy show, you realize what true entertainers they are!
Love the music that these guys make---sure wish I could have heard them in person---really miss Waylon and Johnny---we will never again see so much talent on the same stage again.Thank you "You Tube"for giving us the opportunity to hear this.
These guys together are not only a supergroup but also the four best male country singers ever. Each, in their own right, are the four best country songwriters ever too. I must say I dearly miss all four and pray that Chris is well and comfortable. Early in their careers Willy and Chris were behind the scenes writing some of the best country music for other stars.
IT'S 2021,THE AMAZING HIGHWAYMEN, 4 OF THE GREATEST COUNTRY ARTISTS TO EVER PERFORM IN LAS VEGAS, NEVADA!! STILL MISSING ALL OF MY OUTLAW FRIENDS!!♥️🤠🗽
Johnny's the one that I hear the most out of the four and he is the best musician I can remember in country. He'll be missed but love to hear his music all the time.
I enjoy that you sing some of "The Sons of the Pioneers's songs" I grew up on all of the "old" country music because I remember listening to the Luzinna Hayride every Sunday Evening coming from my Mom's little red radio with Hank Williams Senior. That is still "My" music. I love all of you Waylon, Willie, and the boys, Johnnie and Kris. I am so thankful I can get it on this machine! P.S. I will be 87 on January 3rd, 2024. this is the best country show i have ever seen imo 4 of the very best doing their best to entertain all.. must have been a great time for the folks that were there, unbelievable show, great video!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was born in 83...found these guys (as a group) when I was about 25 after I had fell in love with all of them individually! Best super group EVER! Please we can't let younger generations forget about these legends!
Check out a band called BlackBerry smoke and yelawolf with shooter Jennings! 👍✌
Please let me know what u think!
Cara!, é nessas horas que eu queria seria americano, eu invejo vocês!!, parabéns!! . Hail! American.
I don't know why people don't think that Kris belongs on stage with Waylon, Johnny, and Willie, he is every bit as much a legend as them, and personally, I like the way he sings and performs.
The best songwriter of the bunch and Willies probably the best guitar player of them all
Not to mention that Kris was a Rhodes Scholar and flew helicopters in the Vietnam War. Now he focuses on the challenges of dementia.
Yeti Van Marshall Reggie Young is the best by far.
they're all awesomeness defined
kris sang sunday morning coming down first johnny song
Hey, dear friends, it's year 2024 and we're still listening "best of the best" country music. Good luck to all of you!
I'm here every night!
👍 Not alone, with many friends & YT🎉❤️ all listening Highwaymen!
Regards From Chile....The Highwaymen are the best ''
We were so lucky to have these guys that's all the talented guys on stage. Watch this often ❤️
But now its sad for Johny and Willon had passed away several years jago
left Christ and Willy. But their performance never
That was my dad's favorite song to play and sing. I miss those days when I was younger living in Clemmons NC on highway 158. And I really dislike cancer with a passion.
Cancer sucks big time. Thinking of your struggles and sending you strength to find Peace after you devastating loss. 😢 So sorry, friend.
They are the best country singer of all time know one can take there place in country music 😊
I always cry when I hear Johnny singing this song. I was at the Alamo on Vacation and I bless the souls there.
Watching in December 2020. Still 4 of the finest men and singers ever.
I agree 💯
I just came across this video! December 11, 2020! Love these men and the music!
4 very close friends just having a good time! RIP Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings
Yessss
The best of the best, the greatest of the great that can be! I will forever find this collection of men to be the epitome of what real country music is all about!
We lost the 3rd Outlaw Highwayman. RIP Kris, Johnny and Waylon. Willie remains. I'm beginning to feel really old. I will always love my highwaymen. I will see you on the other side someday. True Legends no matter how long ago they died they will live forever in our hearts and through their music.
who's gonna sing those songs?
This are the most country folks we miss Kenny we even lost Johnny cash but we always feel shivers listening this they are four musqueteeres of real country
IT warms my heart to hear the younger people showing their love for this music
When legends get together it becomes an performance for the ages….
RIP TO THE THREE with only Willie to be in 2024. CHEERS
Who does not like this? These guys are legends.
Amen
I'm sittin' here at 4:30am on a Winter Saturday night - thought I'd wind down after watching PBR at Madison Square Garden. I'm 69 years old, been watchin' and hearin' these guys all my life. I've never seen - and never hope to see - a more moving performance. Who cries while they're watching a country music video? I'm proud to say, "I do!"
Awesome!
me too! its actually 5 in the morning and Im watching this
It's Monday morning 10:13 am here in Trinidad! I am watching and have shed a few thug tears! ah the great ones!!!
Willie Nelson to all the women I've loved to all the girls I've loved
me to i feel the same about these guys i'm the same age as you
valerie
Willie is the last surviving member now. RIP, Johnny, Waylon and Kris. Long live Willie Nelson.
Nothing like them , never will be again... someone bubble wrap Willie , love them all , Amazing talent ,what music should be .. I have to admit born in New Orleans love a lot of different music ..but these here men will always be in my heart ;)
Hi Barbara
Hello, How are you doing? It’s nice seeing you here
GOOD OLD TIME THANKS
I've seen them in concerts and on videos at 57 years old I still love them
They will always be missed by the seniors who are still around to remember. Each one was SO Unique and talented.
Waylon is one of those rare artists that could sing ongoing and it never EVER got old.. you just wanted to hear more and more! :) RIP Waylon!
You said it!!!
So was his great friend ……………

❤😊😢 Jesus es verbo, no sustantivo
You are so right!
Kris is the legend here. What an entrance ! What a show
I could watch this over and over for ever. Their voices together are just spectacular.
I do watch it over and over.
@@russyeatman5631 me too!! :)
The most legendary music group to ever exist.
They just dont make music like this any more. Such memories this music carries for me. These guys are THE BEST!!!
Legends all of them. RIP Kris
Such pros these singers are. They can out write, out sing, and out perform so many "artists" of today across all genres of music. Just great performers! Go Waylon, Johnny, Willie, and Kris!
Legends that will live forever!
Ya that's the best ❤ best thing in the morning to listen to I'll tell you
🎉. Woohoo. Yeeha .
I wish people were still like these guys. I'm 28 and you just don't see dudes like this anymore.
if i were age 28 again, i'd be doing this in 6 more years
BIGJERRR1 YOU WILL NEVER EVER SEE ANYTHING LIKE THIS AGAIN. IT JUST HAPPENS. EVERY SO OFTEN SOMETHING HAPPENS THAT IS JUST TOO RIGHT TO BE WRONG. THAT IS WHAT THESE GUYS ARE.
Lath Law stick with the old stuf until you hear something new that grabs ya man, make Your own way in this life, don't be a follower unless it's good. Make Your own path and you'll be a leader. Peace young Brother.
***** These guys were pretty special, but it's good to hear that there is talent in Texas.
+Lath Law -- this is when men were still men.
Willy's still alive and smoking :)
Oh Waylon, a great singer/musician with an amazing voice and sound. He had a great sense of humor, always joking and making people laugh. Like Jessie said: "He had a heart bigger then Texas!"
And damn he was good looking ;)
He was stunning. A raconteur, while simultaneously a gentleman. Courtly, southern masculine and eyes that danced with a waltz, the jitterbug and down & dirty dancin’ all glittering behind them.
THANKS DADDY (R.I.P.) for giving me the gift of LOVE FOR COUNTRY MUSIC❣️M
Lord this brings memories. Wish my daddy was still here with us. I'm now 63 and miss the times my dad and I would have listen and sing all these great song. I'd play my guitar and we'd have a beer or two 😂 Those were the great days. I even sung in honky tonks for a couple of years. Memories I will always have.
WOW. Of these Giants of Country Music only two are still with us. Kris Kristofferson who is 79 years old and still performing and Willie Nelson who recently turned 80 years old and still performing. God love them both. You just don't find artists like this anymore.
Willie turned 90
Only Willie now 😢
@HoolihansHooligans I happily stand corrected, thank you
2024, September.
I had forgotten how much I like the vocals from these spinners of tales & ballads. Excellent to go back there.
I have personally met and interviewed Willie. I also did technical lighting for Johnny and June Carter Cash many years ago.
I can honestly say they were probably the most talented and genuinely nice people I ever had the opportunity to meet. Once you see their high energy show, you realize what true entertainers they are!
!!!!!!! NO WORDS for this much talent.
Watching the Highwaymen on a grainy old VHS tape is exactly what I need tonight. 🤘
Willie's guitar picking is grossly underrated
The whole gang is grossly underrated these days brother! Johnny and Waylon have rolled in their graves, along with the founding fathers!
Willies guitar picking is only underrated to those that don't know.
He plays just as good as anyone else. I to see you play a guitar just like he does. He has been playing a guitar when he was 5 yrs. old.
2022 and I'm still listening to this great music. These guys are absolutely the best
Love the music that these guys make---sure wish I could have heard them in person---really miss Waylon and Johnny---we will never again see so much talent on the same stage again.Thank you "You Tube"for giving us the opportunity to hear this.
His son shooter singing
Watching September 2023. These songs bring back so many memories. Good and bad but l love this music.
Fantastic! Still after all those years I stay listening to these guys.
Four of the great legends of country music singing great country songs. What more could you ask for? Just wish I could have seen it in person.
They were the best of country music.
IT'S 2021,THE AMAZING HIGHWAYMEN, 4 OF THE GREATEST COUNTRY ARTISTS TO EVER PERFORM IN LAS VEGAS, NEVADA!! STILL MISSING ALL OF MY OUTLAW FRIENDS!!♥️🤠🗽
THEY MISSING YOU. BET THEY'D LIKE TO THANK EACH OF YOU
Johnny's the one that I hear the most out of the four and he is the best musician I can remember in country. He'll be missed but love to hear his music all the time.
Poslouchám Johnny Cashe dnes 31.12.2022,poslední den v roce.Šťastný nový rok 🇨🇿
Three cheers for the fantastic band supporting the frontline stars!
Excellent concert. There'll never be another group as good as these guys!
Perfect wisdom, sadness, beauty and truth put into country music by country men.
I always see these wonderful musicians come alive when they are playing together
Watching this in June 2021 and loving every minute...!
Never gets old. Great music!
There will never be another 4 better Highway Men ❤
Hello, How are you doing? It’s nice seeing you here
NEVER !!!
There is so much that I can learn about "Mama" Earth and so much more! I am very thankful that this machine was invented and for all the information that has been put on it "for me". 👵🐈⬛🐈⬛Me, Teo, and Two Two my 2 cats, 🥰
P.S. I am sure that Willie knows who The Sons Of The Pioneers are because they sang with "TRIGGER'S DAD! 🐈⬛🐈⬛👵
We say "unci maka" Mother Earth in the lakota culture, kris wrote a song abt Ndn activist John Trudell..I believe its called Johnny Lobo on this show
Happy belated birthday
