I found out not that long ago that I am Cherokee. I was adopted from Missouri when I was 3 weeks old. It's great to finally hear the music of my ancestors! A'ho!

I think Cherokee(체로키) from Koean.. we say that now.. "J(=Ch)eoreoke"(저러케) that way -> real say and means ex) how to do (that way)
      Irokee(이로키) = Ireoke(이러케) -> this way
A : How about U to try by this way??
      B : Sorry, I will that way..

I'm only an eighth Cherokee. The last full blood was my great grandmother. She was forced to marry a white man, so my grandmother is half. My grandmother married a mexican man with an oral lineage of creek, but he has no real proof because his family moved to mexico. My father is, from what were sure of, a fourth. He married a Jewish woman, my mother, giving g me an eighth. My great grandmother is recently moved on from this place and my grandmother has been diagnosed with covid and pneumonia. My dad rushed to teach me what cherokee he learned, and got me enrolled in the Cherokee Nation, and now I'm learning to embrace a side of my family I've never felt very connected to.

Maybe Korean can understand what it means. And when I heard this song I just understood. It is old Korean language. Soseon is Korea's old name.
O si yo is welcome. Is it right?
In Korean, O (오) si (시) yo(오) is welcome, hello and come here. Pronounce and meaning are totally the same.

In reply to fiddlegrandmom's comment two years ago she asked for translation to Amazing Grace in Tsalagi and English. This is provided below. Yeha Noha (wishing happiness and prosperity) 2014 to all who believe upon the Lord and his glorious return... we are all brothers and sisters.
    Amazing Grace
This hymn was written in 1779 by John Newton who, until his early 20's, was an unbeliever. A decade later he had become a devout preacher.
The tune was known as "an early American Melody" and became a favorite of the Cherokees. It was sung on the Trail of Tears and can be considered the Cherokee National anthem.
According to shinaanish comment made below the TITLE is U ne la nv hi U we tsi ~The Son of God
AMAZING GRACE melody TRANSLATION from TSALAGI (Cherokee language) ~ ENGLISH
u ne la nv i u we tsi
    God's Son
i ga gu yv he i
    paid for us.
hna quo tso sv wi yu lo se
    Now to heaven He went
i ga gu yv ho nv
    after paying for us.
    a se no i u ne tse i
    Then He spoke
i yu no du le nv
    when He rose.
ta li ne dv tsi lu tsi li
    I'll come the second time
u dv ne u ne tsv
    He said when He spoke.
e lo ni gv ni li s qua di
    All the world will end
ga lu tsv ha i yu
    when He returns
ni ga di da ye di go i
    We will all see Him
a ni e lo ni gv
    here the world over.
u na da nv ti a ne hv
    The righteous who live
do da ya nv hi li
    He will come after.
tso sv hna quo ni go hi lv
    In heaven now always
do hi wa ne he s di
    in peace they will live.

+cherokeeewoman It truly is a blessing to know more about my heritage & my ancestors! Thank LORD JESUS for my grandmother who taught me a lot about our family & told many Native stories of our family! She said to me a couple occasions to never be ashamed of my heritage & to always be proud of who I am! It only made me want to learn more & more about who I am! I am truly thankful to CREATOR GOD that my family are of the lost tribes of Israel & that I am Native, too! But most of all I am thankful that I am a child of KING YESHUA! Yeha Noha & my Yeshua bless you & keep you always in his LOVE!

the pronunciation of the lyric of this song is a little bit different from that of other version. just watch 'Amazing Grace in Cherokee-native American uploaded by Nancy W. I think the latter has more precise pronunciation.
So, the translation of this song must be incorrect. why?
If you listen to Nancy version(more correct pronunciaton), there are a lot of Korean words in this indian song. Josun means Korean dynasty of Great Gojosun(real name is Dangun Josun) established in BC 2333. Nakrang is also the name of dynasty of old Korea in about AD 1 C. And also I can understand lots of words in this song. Jabi(mercy), Eeu(reason), Chiwoo(Great Emperor in Korean myth in BC 4000, the God of War, the Red devils of Korea Cheers used his emblem in world cup 2002 in Korea-Japan). Niga(you are), Nanri(disaster, war), Sori(sound), Nakwon(paradise) etc. It needs in-depth study on the migration of (Go)Josun pepople to American continent. according to the Korean and Chinese historical record, tens of thousands of Josun people moved to American continent in BC 1C~AD 1C.

There is a translation done by Language professors in Asia for this song. They say the song contains very ancient words and Native Americans may not know the song's true meaning because of it. They say the song sings about their Emperor and the Kingdom that the USA has brought down and that they(USA) cannot take place of their Emperor and they yearn for their peaceful times from their past under their Emperor's rule. Basically really sad more than anything. They used the Sanskrit dictionary and also a few other Asian languages to find the word that matched the words in the lyrics so it's probably very accurate since native Americans originally came from Asia.
This video basically roughly translated maybe even guessed from Christian version lyrics I think. This is not accurate at all probably.
