Great, great video series with a lot of useful hints!! I‘m standing right before the task of restoring a 72 CB 750 four which hasn‘t been driven for 40 years. So I enjoy your videos!! Greetings from Germany!
not having ever ridden a motorcycle on the streets (only dirty bikes) I want to buy one of these. I'm inspired. Thanks for the dedication to see it through. I watched all 40+ videos end to end. Wow, Man!
This was a fun adventure, inspires me to keep going on rebuilding my actual 1st bike i learned to ride. A 1971Honda CB100 my father purchased new back in the day when i was 10 years old, dad kept it all these years in an airplane hangar. After he passed i found it buried under a lifetime of his hording (lol..Thanks Dad). After cleaning the fuel tank and rebuilding the carb, both were a mess, I added fresh oil plus new spark plug and it started. Funny after me not riding it since about 1978, was great to drop it into 1st gear pop the clutch and have the chain fall to the pavement in multiple pieces! lmao... Anyway i will get there, as your 40 segment showed me. Thanks for the awesome series.
Hey Dino,I don't know if you will ever see this as this series is quite old now.I'm watching this from Northern Ireland in June 2021. This series and the Sabre series have entertained me for many weeks so thank you sir for your efforts and I applaud your Many skills.
Really amazing man. Thank you so much for all this detailed info. This year is rebuild year for my 1975 CB750. I've been watching this series for a few weeks getting myself psyched up. Amazing invaluable videos.
Just spent every spare moment I had for the last three days watching this series. Amazing! Thanks for taking the time to document... now to find a project of my own!
from start to finish sir You are by far the best on you tube. I had an 84 honda nighthawk once and it too was a blast to ride. Now I am contemplating on A CAFE Racer project and this is a great tool. Thank you.
That is a beautiful bike. I had a 78 Cb750k many years ago. I now ride a VTX 1300c that I love but it will never be like my old 750. Thank you for videoing the restoration process. It was neat watching her come back to life. BTW, just kidding with the hippocatimus comment.
Honda CB 750 was the original super bike, this bike in the early '70's out sold every other make of bike, and even put some of them out of biz, So Dino you have a very special bike there......enjoy
Congrats Dino, thank you so much for this awesome series man, I feel kind of nostalgic that it's over, can't even imagine how you feel :) You're an awesome dude, keep on truckin'!
Keep the old patina for sure. Thanks so much for doing this series. I like the way you take the time to explain the minute details, like which way a thing points when installed. When you are ready to consider selling it, I hope you give the TH-camrs a chance to become owners.
This feels weird. I have looked forward to and watched all of the parts in this series and cant believe its done. It looks amazing, Im just sad its over. Well done Deano
I've been following this the whole time. What a wonderful build! There's nothing better than taking a pile of "junk" and making it good again. I applesauce you sir:)
FANTASTIC job - i've been working on a CB650 here in Aus .. extremely hard for parts. Loved your Sabre series, looking forward to seeing the new skin, and this 750 build has been incredible. Amazing detail, knowledge and patience. Thank you!
Its been a fantastic journey watching you skilfully rebuild this old beauty thanks a lot . My opinion ride the ass off this summer then get the paint done to make it look showroom. I'm sure it will be worth a lot more money with new paint!! Well done Deno!!
Deano, I don't need to tell you what a fantastic job you've done. I have enjoyed following your builds and hope that you feel inspired enough to pick up another one. I love how those of us with the "Funky Old Patina" can show all the kids what persistence, and the right approach to a project, can yield. There's no school like old school and the acquisition of depth of knowledge, as opposed to the shallow breadth of knowledge that seems to be the pursuit of the current generation. Well done old mate.
Man I just want to say thank you, it is been a blast to watch the whole entire series of video putting this bike together. I found your channel a couple of weeks ago and every free time I have I watch 2 or 3 videos of this. I saw in another video of course that was a 2016 video that you were going to sale the bike, who ever bought it got a piece of mind bike after that rebuilt. If you don't mind asking how much you ended up selling it. I wish I new about your channel before, always love motorcycles and the Honda CB 750 is been one of my all time favorite. Thanks againg.
Gawd I hope you do give us updates on this bike! Im sure I'm not alone in falling in love with the project. Such great memories of the CB and so much information. I really learned a lot watching this process. So glad I came upon it. The patina looks great but I trust your judgement completely, if you do paint it, it wont take anything away either. Going to miss this thing. lol Hope we get to see the changes with the Sabre soon!
Would have liked to here it running and to see the clocks working. A paint job would be great. Watched every video as the bike came together. Awesome work. Well done.
Congratulations on finishing it!. Been following almost from the start I think. Bought a K2 last year. It's the most beautiful bike in the world imo. Have fun with it!
A trick I learned on 66 Mustang seat covers was to warm up the vinyl in the dryer or use a hair dryer to make it easier to stretch and form the cover nice and tight on the foam.
I'm very happy for you that it's finally done, you never actually said it but since a few month I was under the impression that you lost the fun building this bike. I hope the joy of riding this beauty will help you recover from putting a bike together taken apart by an idiot. I know how this can lead to depression Anyway, I could watch another 40 cb 750 episodes, I mean seriously, enjoy it and then finish it, the seat, the tank and the handlebars can only be a temporary solution considering how much love you invested.
In all fairness to the previous owner, he did a great job of taking the bike apart and buying a ton of new parts. He also had all the zinc hardware plated and had some head work done.
what a great rebuild, Inspirational indeed. Thanks for all the hard work in producing the posts. It must've slowed proceedings up somewhat. Enjoy the ride, you deserve it. Chris, Sussex. UK.
I'd paint everything the original color and then "patina" it so the stages of patina all match. Great way to explore how to "patina" metal and plastic so they match.
Good Vid and well done. Nice to see it finished. Easier way to get those Honda badges painted. Spray it black, pour fill the white and block sand for the borders.
After all the effort to make it look good I would get the paint professionally done in the correct colour for the year. Patina is another word for 'old wreck'.
Fantastic series of videos! Thanks very much, the techniques and advice are so helpful and transferable. I love the old bike as it is, such character..
Dino, Your videos are so great please keep them coming the bike is great. old paint new paint does not matter to me I like the old look but at the same time new paint would just as cool bud. Just keep the video coming that's what matters
I painted the emblems on my old Gremlin years ago. They looked great. Then I tried to bring the paint back, but the polish went right through it. Bummer. But freshly painted emblems look awesome on a restoration!
What a sweet bike you have put together here, Dean!! -and what a great series of well done video work you've put together as well ! -just wow, -what a tremendous job you've actually shown us in your project !.. a big congratulation to you and your finished bike,.. -it turned out to be a great looking one ! :)
just in case your interested, painting the tank badges that have raised logo's, its easier to run wide masking tape over them and run a sharp blade round it, peel away the part that needs paint and rattle can it?
How sweet it got to be!!! You are AWESOME!! Hope you understan that you (we) need a new projekt in the fall/winter! I would love to se you bringing a gixxer back to life! I have a 93 gsxr 1100 that i'm working on, but lacking the skill (and tools). Keep making videos, I will always watch them!! Have a wonderful summer and plz come back with a new prodject when fall com. (sorry for my english) // Danne (sweden)
love your bike builds! you are awesome, I have learned so much from your videos. you are a inspiration to me, I bought a Suzuki 750 -82 with a broken engine and got it running and out on the road again. I hope you will do more builds in The future :) greetings from Sweden.
I bet it was fun to look around at your parts boxes and see how the number of parts in them had shrunk. I know you had double parts in some cases, so you never would wind up with no parts.
It turned out just awesome! One question can you post the part numbers for the instrument cluster LED's? I would love to get some for my 550 however I am having an issue with finding the exact ones that work. Thanks for filming all of this it was great to follow the build!
I find all your vids interesting. I like bikes and I'm an electronics hobbyist, so I enjoy both topics :) Your bikes are way cooler, but I still enjoy my 125cc smoker :D And yeah, your videos inspired me; now I'm looking to replace cracked windshield))
My dad had one like this and unfortunately sold it when i was 18... i wonder what would be the rider height limit for driving nicely this bike, because now i´m 1.93 cm (and 46 years hehe) and would like to find one :) Excellent job!!!
very good job on all your projects, big fan. can you say more about the calibration of the needle on these speedometers with the spring behind them and also how we can test them or if we can mend them if they read wrong numbers..... thank you
Thank you so much. I wish you would have shown how to install the HONDA emblems on the tank. Also disappointed you did not start it at the end. But great job overall.
I woke up last night thinking about mixing fiberglass resin by weight vrs. volume after hearing the comment about your fabulous tank getting soft. The components of resign have a specific density. Density ...d=m/v...so changing the weight would proportionally change the volume or vice versa? So how does it matter? What am I not understanding. I'm concerned because I to have built a fiberglass gas tank. Any help understanding the issue? thanks for any help
Very cool. I had an orange 73 and watching you work on the bike brings back so many memories. Thank you.
Great, great video series with a lot of useful hints!! I‘m standing right before the task of restoring a 72 CB 750 four which hasn‘t been driven for 40 years. So I enjoy your videos!!
Greetings from Germany!
Thanks for sharing your journey on this. I was addicted to watching this whole build. Better than anything on tv.
not having ever ridden a motorcycle on the streets (only dirty bikes) I want to buy one of these. I'm inspired. Thanks for the dedication to see it through. I watched all 40+ videos end to end. Wow, Man!

A nicely running machine with original paint says much more than one with new paint. Looked after for years. Cheers, Andy
Oh and I really really like the patina. The contrast between and the beautiful shiny parts and the original looking tins is awesome!
from start to finish sir You are by far the best on you tube. I had an 84 honda nighthawk once and it too was a blast to ride. Now I am contemplating on A CAFE Racer project and this is a great tool.
Thank you.

Hello Dean,
a bike with character does not need paint.
No one will paint a diamond.
Beauty comes from within..
I owned a 72 model, it was a fun ride. This has brought backa lot of memories. Thanks.
I've been watching since you started this project and you should be proud of your work. Well done, tremendous job.
You built a motorcycle from scratch! You are impressive.
Honda CB 750 was the original super bike, this bike in the early '70's out sold every other make of bike, and even put some of them out of biz, So Dino you have a very special bike there......enjoy
I followed this build with interest. Great presentation, very informative and shows us idiots what's possible. Thanks Dino, you're a star!
You inspired me to get the 1982 cb 900 f on the road. Thanks!
Congrats Dino, thank you so much for this awesome series man, I feel kind of nostalgic that it's over, can't even imagine how you feel :)
You're an awesome dude, keep on truckin'!

+Andy's Motorcycle Obsessions Thank you!
I remember watching all of these videos and being super stoked on when a new episode came out. Miss these videos! Always did great work Dino

You have steady hands like a surgeon!
good old model paints. I once painted my tank with an air brush and model paints!
Would have liked to here it running and to see the clocks working. A paint job would be great. Watched every video as the bike came together. Awesome work. Well done.
Congratulations to another superb series Dino. I've enjoyed the journey. Very well done.
Brilliant refurb. Finish it with an awesome red paint job.......
Great series Deano!...can't wait for the next.what a great little bike well done.
I'm very happy for you that it's finally done, you never actually said it but since a few month I was under the impression that you lost the fun building this bike. Great job. Lovely to see that ol Honda all back together and ready for many more years of riding.Well done Dino :)
Well done, but I still vote for a paint job. Thanks for sharing.
what a great rebuild, Inspirational indeed. Thanks for all the hard work in producing the posts. It must've slowed proceedings up somewhat. Enjoy the ride, you deserve it.
Chris,
Sussex. UK.
Got a real nice 750,i remember when they came out OMG they were a hit! I would paint that Girl, she deserves it!
I'd paint everything the original color and then "patina" it so the stages of patina all match. Great way to explore how to "patina" metal and plastic so they match.
Flipping that tach is exactly something I would do! Those rings are a PITA! I felt sorry for ya.
Good Vid and well done. Nice to see it finished.
Easier way to get those Honda badges painted.

After all the effort to make it look good I would get the paint professionally done in the correct colour for the year. Patina is another word for 'old wreck'.
Thanks fir the vidz Dino. Lots if fun following the progress. Great job.
heartily congratulate you on the completion.
Such a great build. I had a 76 cb750 and loved it. May have to track down another. Lol

Whew! Good hands with painting the emblems.
I painted the emblems on my old Gremlin years ago. They looked great. Then I tried to bring the paint back, but the polish went right through it. Bummer. But freshly painted emblems look awesome on a restoration!

Great job mate, cheers from Buenos Aires! Gon
I bet it was fun to look around at your parts boxes and see how the number of parts in them had shrunk. I know you had double parts in some cases, so you never would wind up with no parts.
Awesome to see you reach this stage and enjoy it! Congrats man :)
When motorbikes looked like motorbike and not space shuttles. Modern equipment works great but these bikes look great.
I think those lovely cats need a diet. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome job! Dean great work
Awesome job - loved the bike!
caught up with u late but i love what ur doing cant wait to see more thanks for step by step
Enjoyed this complete build series from Start to Finish!
Can you post up your 500 mile valve adjustment w/ a update??
Looks awesome, no need to paint. More time to ride it then. 😀
no need to paint it mate, looks beautiful as is, killer machine Deano
It turned out just awesome! One question can you post the part numbers for the instrument cluster LED's? I would love to get some for my 550 however I am having an issue with finding the exact ones that work. Thanks for filming all of this it was great to follow the build!
I use One Shot sign lettering enamel. Much more durable and flows better.
I find all your vids interesting. I like bikes and I'm an electronics hobbyist, so I enjoy both topics :) Your bikes are way cooler, but I still enjoy my 125cc smoker :D And yeah, your videos inspired me; now I'm looking to replace cracked windshield))
Loved the series!
Very impressive video series!
Awesome! I'm excited it's done but also sad that there's no more 750 assembly coming up, haha. Maybe a sidecar for Shaymus and Figaro?
congratulationns on your success.i looked your full video from beginning to end CB750 custom.thanks you lot of
thank you I love see in your Honda CB750
My dad had one like this and unfortunately sold it when i was 18... i wonder what would be the rider height limit for driving nicely this bike, because now i´m 1.93 cm (and 46 years hehe) and would like to find one :)
Excellent job!!!
very good job on all your projects, big fan. can you say more about the calibration of the needle on these speedometers with the spring behind them and also how we can test them or if we can mend them if they read wrong numbers..... thank you
I 'm sorry this is run by a wire, I was refering to the next generation tachometer, that work as galvanometers.
Thank you so much. I wish you would have shown how to install the HONDA emblems on the tank. Also disappointed you did not start it at the end. But great job overall.
Nice man, like pletan or belak it is also nice
That oil gauge maneuver made my butt pucker up. I think I would have teflon taped it before torqing them aluminum threads.
Paint the tank. It's the single most thing you can do to improve a bike. Tank is the bike.
Looks awesome. I'm hoping to build a Café Racer for my first bike with a large engine. In the UK, at 17, I can only ride a 125cc, unfortunately :(
Same, good luck!
