Like, I liked the show and all, but it's humor and characters dynamics didn't match with the book's, something the musical does a better job at! The songs are amazing and it has some really nice Easter eggs! You can listen to it on Spotify or youtube, or even watch the *definitely super legal* recording on TH-cam. Hope you give it a shot!
I'm a fan of the books and even I thought the movie was more entertaining,the biggest problem of show was the characters immediately knew that things were monsters/traps so there was no discovery.And monsters like miss Dodds just sorta waited around for them to escape.(Still excited for the next season though).
Trust me… I’m a HUGE Percy Jackson fan, and I COMPLETELY agree with you. I honestly believe that the movie was far better than the tv series.. At least with the movie, they were really good in the chemistry, the action and they actual tried to follow from the book. They included the three fates!!! Where are the three fates in the tv series?!?!?!??!?!? It was SUPPOSE to be RIGHT after dodds attack percy?!? What happen to percy and Grover friendship!!?!?! The fact that Grover threw percy under the bus like that!! And that principle scene ?!?! Wtf was that!!!! I’m sorry to the “fan of the tv series” but this is not the same as the book.. I’m happy that Logan Lerman is going to be in the tv series, I love seeing him in the movie.. I will probably ONLY see the episodes where he is in.. but overall, the tv series is just not for me.
Valid point I think the show has some minor inaccuracies aswell but a good way to think about the movies can be to pretend it’s not even Percy Jackson and you’ll enjoy it more
Yeah actors can be talented but still put out bad performances just like a footballer can be talented but still have a bad performance in a match but the Ryan gosling mishap is on me 😭
I'm just waiting for Aryan to be in a wedding dress! LOL! (But I honestly agree with you, the show is mid.) Plus, the movies are good. It's just that since they called it we were mislead to believe that it would follow the story line of the book, but it didn't. However, if they figured out a different name for the movie, rename characters, and change some thing, they could have a pretty good movie, and there would be no trouble for the Percy Jackson fandom.
I DESPISED the movies because of how inaccurate it was. I have read the books and I just couldn’t do it but I definitely see what you mean when you say the movies are more exciting than the TV show. The tv show was so anti-climactic and boring, and the writing was really weird. I dislike the movies and I am disappointed about the TV show 😅
For the purpose of the story that the writer is trying to tell. The tv show wins. The main point of the story wasn’t even told in the movies. The acting does need some help tho so we’ll watch how it develops. Also…Percy Jackson being 12 is maaaadd important to the storyline so I’m not for the older cast.

I agree whole heartedly hopefully Disney actually take in this type of criticism in so hopefully season two will be better
