I really do like the redesign of the Alienware M16 R2 (2024) much better than on the M18. Also, the sound quality of the M16 is also better than on the M18. It's a great laptop with an ok webcam and internal mic quality, good port selection, large battery and decent QHD+ display, 240Hz and G-Sync added as bonuses. The only drawback for me is the 309 nits of brightness, which as Andrew pointed out could be bumped up to at least 400 nits and then it would be a real winner in my book. Great video Andrew!! 👍😁
I had this laptop for a week the fans and brightness of the screen is why I sent it back. I'm with a Acer Predator Helios 18 4090 instead. Love it so far.
The Best Buy link you showed at 2:31 and said was the R1 version, actually says it's the R2 version with twice as much ram (32GB) and the Ultra 9 vs the Ultra 7? Looks like it's $500 off, making it $300 less than the Ultra 7 R2 version.
Thanks as always for a good video, Andrew. I'm actually considering switching to a desktop replacement once I will discontinue my current desktop setup. How do you think the Alienware desktop replacements hold up against peers like the Asus Strix, MSI Titan and Razer Blade 18? Impressed by the quality of the microphones on this machine, by the way.
Nice pc. Camera was okay although colors seemed a little washed out. Excellent port selection. Like the ability to do upgrades, memory, ssd, wifi card. Display is good for a gaming unit. Sound on this definitely better than the larger unit. Great review.
Excepting for the chassis... This would have been a generally better basis for XPS than the awful redesign Dell did go for. I'd have still preferred a 17 with a screen more focused on media/HDR but - If I had to choose a 2024 Dell and wasn't destroying the credit card on a Precision... This Alienware looks closest to tolerable.
Hi, i've watched a few of your videos and you seem to be reviewing devices very objectively. I want to ask what laptop is perfect for a college student (med student if that could help) . Something light and performant, thank you.

Being that it's already running hot under load with the rtx 4070, they probably chose to drop the 4080/4090 for the thermal performance.
Dell must be sitting in plenty of these if they are sending them to reviewers so late in its cycle. I have one and rate it a 7/10 overall.
No this was on me since I had it for quite some time and just couldn’t get to it until now
Why does Alienware starting producing such crappy laptops ? 300 nits of pathetic screen ?
did not
