Grab a margarita for this one 😁 Which property is more your style? The resort right on the beach with lots of bars and restaurants OR the suites close to the beach?
Another great video in one of my old stomping grounds. Seeing a Margaritaville in that location is bitter sweet but with the timing of Ian it worked out pretty well. It’s sad to see the old “fishing village” pretty much gone forever but like all other great destinations this is part of the natural evolution that happens everywhere. The last time we stayed at FMB we stayed at The Lighthouse which you could see from your room. The lighthouse Was great and had a really good night life scene, great people watching. Loved the video, keep it up!!! BTW, we’ve been to 2 other Margaritavilles, one in St. Thomas (which was my favorite) and Biloxi Mississippi. They resorts are all very nice but its hard getting the JB music that’s on a continuous loop throughout the resorts out of your head, I feel really bad for the employees that have to listen to it 24/7/365😂
Yeah, I think the resort brings a lot of mixed emotions for a lot of people. Almost everyone seems to appreciate the jobs and tourists that the property is bringing back to the island, but everyone also realizes that FMB will never be the same as it was before Ian. As far as the JB music, we were thinking the exact same thing. We both enjoy his music and they do mix his songs up with other music, but you still get a LOT of JB as expected. After day 3 I was telling Jamie that I could go without hearing another steel pan for the next year or so lol! I would imagine it could get pretty rough on the workers.
Another great video. Jimmy definitely created adventures that will bare his name. He was a great musician and a good businessman. Keep up the great videos.
Jimmy only had a small stake in margaritaville(s)……nothing to really do with any of them…..28% stake I believe……owners were actually margaritaville LLC a subsidiary of another holding company
I've been searching videos for this resort for the past two weeks and this is by far the best video that I've come across. You guys covered everything and it's nicely put together, well done! I'm super excited for my upcoming stay at the new Fort Myers Margaritaville.
We honestly didn't know what to expect at either property, as we had never stayed at a Margaritaville or a Compass before. While the similarities were there, the over all experiences were so different. I like that they were both so different :)
You guys did an awesome job of showing these 2 properties. We have a place in Ft Myers and have been watching the Margaritaville resort go up. This property looks really nice and I can't wait to visit it! Thank you!😊
Thanks, Laura. We hope you get a chance to stay at one or both of these properties sometime soon. They are very different but we really enjoyed our time at both!
Hey Jaime and Skylar, long time no see. Glad to see you guys are still doing great and providing outstanding places to travel to. Wow! The Margaritaville Resort in Ft. Myers looks absolutely incredible. Very clean, well maintained and lots of things to do. Food and beverage options also look outstanding. I will definitely make plans to visit and stay at this resort as well as visiting all that Fort Myers has to offer. Great video. Keep up the great work. 😎⛹️♀️🤸♂️🚴♂️
Hi Clarence! Thanks so much for checking out our Margaritaville Resort video. It really is an amazing resort and we really hope you get a chance to visit sometime soon.
That bathroom looked beautiful - I always judge a hotel room by the bathroom cleanliness. The beach club and pool would be where you'd find me. Alan would be somewhere in the shade 🤣
I loved the mermaid tail faucets 😍 The beach club was such a fun area, didn't have to even get out of the water for our drinks 🍹AND there were plenty of umbrellas by the pool and in the beach area that didn't require an additional fee to use.
I said the exact same thing! Love Jimmy and wish the brand would be consistent across their businesses, especially the cruise ship. I live here in Fort Myers, but havnt been to this resort yet! Looks nice!
We've been on the cruise ship out of WPB that goes to Freemont, and that one is abysmal for real. I spoke with someone that went on the new ship out of Tampa while we were staying at this resort and they said it's MUCH better. Might try that one, one day.
I'm a huge fan of the Margaritaville Hotels & Resorts, so I loved this video! I've stayed at the Pensacola, Anna Maria Island, and Pigeon Forge locations so far and they are all amazing. Beachy/tropical vibes are always what I'm after and the various locations never disappoint! Cheers and keep up the great content! 🍻🌊🌴🤙
@@Explorcation The Pensacola one because of the beach view from the balcony but that location has since rebranded. I really loved the Compass hotel in Anna Maria as well and you should definitely check it out when you can. The outdoor bar with the marina view is awesome!
@@Aestheterica thanks for sharing, that is too bad the Pensacola one rebranded, sounds like it has an incredible view. It is actually a bit funny, we have walked through the lobby of the Anna Maria location, but at the time we had no idea it was a Compass by Margaritaville! So i guess we need to go back.
I’ve stayed at the ones in Pensacola and Pigeon forge and used to visit the one in Hollywood when I lived there. Super nice hotels and this one looks even better. We have been thinking about visiting Fort Myers. This is where I’m wanting to stay.
Thanks so much for watching! As far as the area, the resort property is recovered. Have you seen our 1 yr update of FMB? During our stay at Margaritaville we did drive through the island, we saw that since our 1 yr update more of the debris had been hauled away, more buildings have been cleaned up, and more businesses have reopened. We just got back home after staying here for 4 days, 3 nights. This review was pretty spot on, but I'd like to add a few things that weren't covered for people who may be heading there. We just so happened to book w/o knowing, that Labor Day Weekend was the first annual Jimmy Buffet weekend. We mostly hung out by the pool the whole time, but we did venture into town to shop and eat. First thing that they should've covered in this video, is parking is mandatory valet. You can't self-park. That was an unexpected charge of $37.28 PER NIGHT. Also, there is 20% gratuity automatically added to your bill at the 5 o'Clock Somewhere Bar next to the pool, so whether you have good service or bad, they get 20%. That was only at the pool bar, not the rest of the hotel bars. The first day we were there, the service was atrocious and the waitress kept disappearing for long periods of time. We ended up just going to the bar ourselves and didn't even bother to sign our check (yes, don't worry, they billed our room). The second day, we had Melissa (Missy on the right at the 13:15 mark) and she was AWESOME. Scotty even came by to say hello since we were Steelers fans and Melissa was from PA, close to Pittsburgh. If/when we go back, we will definitely find out what section they're covering and sit there. Overall, we had a great time and would go back again. Hopefully, more stores will reopen or new stores will open, to give you more things to do outside of the hotel, if you so choose. The rooms were very quiet even though the hotel was packed for Labor Day Weekend and we love that the pool is separated from the hotel and by the ocean. Overall, we'd give it a 8.5/10, only because of the unexpected valet charges, the bad waitress and the prices were a little high, but that part was expected. Hope that helps whoever reads this and have fun if you're going!
We're glad to hear you found our review to me fairly accurate, and we really appreciate you sharing experience. It's great information for people to have on top of what we presented in the video!

I bought it from a beach store on Fort Myers Beach last year, but I did find the product online. I just got done linking the hat to the episode. LOL Love it!
great video , but you guy's should figure out how NOT to have to hold that mic......LOL
🤣 I (Jamie) have grown to like it, but Skylar not so much. Some places we film have very loud music that we can't include in our episodes due to copyright so holding the mics close is a necessity in some places. Thanks so much for watching!
