I built the exact same boxes 8 total . The only thing I added was screened ventilation holes (6) on the bottom . Our traps have all had high success rates and already 3 out of 4 placed out last week have swarms . We leave the bees in the traps for two weeks to allow them to build up a decent amount of comb . Terry thanks so much for the comment, we have had rain so once its over I think the swarms will start, scouts at one trap already.
Great job! Have you had birds move in?
Not as of yet that's what the nails are for to keep the birds out and only let the bees in
What type of stapler are you using?
Using 18 gauge nails.
