Thoven is deceptively easy when you abuse your spin dash right in front of him, not having to worry about spawned projectiles right above his head. Well, it is also funny when Mario dies in certain spots, causing it to spin infinitely or Thoven to spam his keyboard.

True, he's a bit more difficult if you didn't get the Yoshi Egg moves though.
And yeah, since the attacks are timed to the beat, attacks like the cymbal become a bit confused when you die or pause the game. Let's just say it's an easter egg.....
