    Great video! I’ve been looking into professional label printers so this will give me a good place to start! Thank you for posting this video!

    Hello, I am just starting off a candle business and haven't bought any printers yet. Do I need both a regular laser or inkjet printer for general paperwork, and a thermal printer for candle labels and postal labels? Also, is a regular laser printer inadequate for printing candle labels because of the lack of heat and water resistance? I'm confused because some candle-makers say regular laser or inkjet printers are fine for label printing. I don't want to buy anything expensive before I start making a few sales. I won't be needing time-saving printers for a long time yet, and am not sure a beginner should be paying for a super high quality label printer. I've seen cheap label printers though.. maybe that's what I need?
    Thanks.

    Great video! I have the lx 610 and love it. Still learning all the features but definitely was worth the investment.

    Ahhh I’ve been looking at this and the Epson 6000a but this one is probably more affordable. I also use a Mac - what dongle did you get?

    I've been eyeballing this printer for months. Thank you for your input. I still don't know if I'm sold on it I get labels professionally printed by the roll that should last me for a year-ish for about $250. So while I see the value my biggest hold out is that the printer doesn't have the same laminating capability like the professional printed ones do. It makes the labels SOOOO much more durable.

    • @UrbanWanderlustStudios
      @UrbanWanderlustStudios  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely checkout some of their other printers, cause I know some of the other ones have different capabilities. Everything that I said in this video is only referencing my specific printer. But definitely do whatever is most cost-effective for you!! And thx for watching!!

      @@oliviamassey7694 Lightening Labels. I designed the label, they told me what format they needed it in (you can do it in Canva). I approved the proof and like a week or so later I had my roll of labels. I will say I had them printed to use with my labeling machine. Overall I'm happy with the investment that was a fraction of the cost of getting an expensive label printer. But that's what makes sense for me, in my business right now. Your situation might be different.

    My husband has the LX500 for his business and I use it to print labels for his products but never really explored it as I only use it the way the former employee who was trained to use it. They use the app bartender.
    I got so excited when you mentioned that I could just use my mac to print labels. I’m new to candle making and had outsourced to Avery for my first batch of labels. Too pricey but at that time, I didn’t have any choice because my printer was giving me a headache printing candle labels.
    I can’t wait to go to the shop tomorrow morning and tinker with it. Hopefully it will work out for me.
    What size label do you use, if you don’t mind my asking? (i know that would depend on the vessel you’re intending that label for but I just want to know as a ball park. I believe we have a 2x3 but matte.

    • @UrbanWanderlustStudios
      @UrbanWanderlustStudios  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I do remember some people mentioning the bartender app but not sure why they needed it. I just know for the 500c and my Mac I don’t need an app. Use multiple different label sizes depending what I’m printing for

      @@UrbanWanderlustStudios You don't "need" to use the bartender app, but its a very powerful piece of software. We keep soap ingredients in for the label in a database. We are always tweaking things ingredients. Rather than having to go into Illustrator, update the ingredients on the label, we simply leave the ingredients off of the design. Save the illustrator file as a pdf, then when in bartender, we open our saved print label template for Lavendar soap, we tell it to print 30 lavendar soap labels and it connects to the database with all of our soap info in it, grabs the ingredients, the lot number for the batch and the correct UPC code and prints the label. It also works great for food biz. It has the ability to create the FDA food labels. The pro version of bartender is an investment in and of itself, around $500, but it really is amazing.

    • @UrbanWanderlustStudios
      @UrbanWanderlustStudios  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can pre-cut custom shapes or if you want a label that can cut any shape you want on the whim you would have to buy a different version of their printer. I think the LX 610 or something like that.

    • @UrbanWanderlustStudios
      @UrbanWanderlustStudios  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Website says it can print up to 1,000 labels a day but I’ve never tracked how many labels per ink cartridge. That depends how much color is being used for each label.
