i ordered one of these yesterday form e-bay for $13.00. supposed to be next week. i've watched several videos and all says it works good. simple to use. 🙂😉
I bought this yesterday and it works perfect !!. Small and simple as hell. Works on all cars i tried it on. From ford mustang, ford focus 2005, volvo xc70 2012, citroen c4 2016, citroen jumper 2019.
I have the same hyper tough scanner. I also got that code but it’s not the catalytic converter. I had a diagnostic done at the muffler shop and I had no back pressure meaning the cat was good but it was something else triggering the code. I replaced the rings and rods and manifold and the problem went away
If my car is cranking but not starting, and I want to confirm that its not something besides the fuel pump; will one of these analyzers help me figure that out? Thanks for any help.
Is this code reader the same as the AUTEL MaxiScan MS309? They look identical. Yours is cheaper than Amazon’s. Thanks for struggling with us. I’ve never used a code reader.
Can the code tester work to find air suspension diagnostic in mercedes? I was watching another video about using tester to help find leak problem. How do I use it and what how will I know what the tester is telling me in code?
Can someone helpI have a 2004 Volkswagen Jetta and the immobilizer chip in my flip key is not working and I have a OBD 2309 as hell can somebody explain it to me like I’m three years old how in the hell to fix this and get my car started LOL
M M when i turn on the diagnostics and connect with the car throw me the one code found above i press enter and then displays “there are no codes on this device..”
@@salkodinamitas7681 yes I had the same problem mine with read the code but when I would click to find out what the code was they would say what should I do to make this thing work
Michael Flanagan same thing it reads the code but when you try to opeen to see the code you cant i tihnk its a scam cheap shit i paid in my europe country 12,5 euro haha
Stephen Wilcox, yes and no.. no offense. I know I’m a bit late to the party, based on the age of this video; however, some of the basics, need not be forgotten. The following is purely intended to offer shared info, amongst those in the car community, specifically Toyota 4Runner owners: I’m gonna keep it short and place a link below, to an article to read through: www.700r4transmissionhq.com/p0420-toyota-4runner/ *There are also a couple links near the end, to assist anyone with testing an O2 sensor (since that ultimately may be throwing the code) and the dreaded catalytic converter.
I have the same one bought from walmart for 19$. i scanned a friend's 2009 BMW 325. and didn't show any code... but the car had a problem... and we took the car to a workshop where they used their expensive tablet-size scanner. they found more than 10 codes on their scanner... i'm disappointed!
M M “Works with 1996 and newer vehicles (OBD II/CAN) domestic, Asian and European”. I copied that sentence from Walmart site about this scanner HT309. BMW falls in the European cars. I can’t seem to find Hyper Tough website...
Need a new Cat Converter. Failure rate is high after 125,000 miles. They don't make like they used to! See Eric the Car Guy on TH-cam from December 21,2012 on it!
Juan Moreno the code reader will erase your code but when you go for inspection, the inspector will tell you that your engine is not ready yet. He will tell you to go drive like 40 miles or so. When you drive 40 miles or so, the original error code will come back. The best thing to do is fix your car first then go for inspection.
Paid $20 at Pep boys. Worked perfect. The "erase code" will not work unless you start the car on some of the models where you have a press button start. It says not to use while car running. I said "nonsense" hahahaha... Started the car with it plugged in (2010 Cadillac). Hit erase and it DID ! Did not hurt the car... It was a smog code of some sort. Likely have to get that fixed next time car is up for smog.
I'm watching this right now in Walmart this video makes me want to keep it in the cart, Thank you.
It pays for itself,I picked mine up today and got a $75 dollar job in the morning just letting them know what's wrong with their car
@@ndnxneh Thank you for the video.

I have one and absolutely love it. Found two codes that and fixed my car that's great for a 20 dls

Lot of people get mad about the tool. But it’s not the tool it’s there car It a great tool for the price
my reader reads backwards and upside down????
Appears your initial suspicions were confirmed irt catalytic converter?
Can you clear codes as well ?
Is this code reader the same as the AUTEL MaxiScan MS309? They look identical. Yours is cheaper than Amazon’s. Thanks for struggling with us. I’ve never used a code reader.
Yes. There's a few "brands" of this MS309 scanner. They're all the same, just labeled and priced differently.
does it read the traction control light or just check engine??
Will this work on a 06 Volvo S40 2.4i ? Because I've heard that some volvos need like a specific OBD2 reader in order to work?
Do u know if these scanners need batteries replaced? Myn doesn’t turn on anymore
Does it work on BMW 320D coz mine keeps saying N/A on all readings... 2006 model
Yes it does I have an 01 bmw
Hello did you turn the car on to get it to read the code
This little scanner works real good. Definitely worth the 20 bucks
I'll be saving $ buying 1 after watching your video 👍

I picked one up at Walmart after work today. I hope it can help me figure out why my GMC Sierra had a rough idle. Glad to see it worked for you.
Try cleaning your throttle body. Many good videos on TH-cam!
My suburban ticking barely tho
definitely works 👍🏽
Very helpful and not shaky on my end. Thanks bro
What do I need to buy in order to reprogram my 2k14 key fob? I bought this but it doesn’t seem to work
Works perfectly for the last 8 months on my 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse
I have more experience one but have this one to keep it in my suv it's nice works well for what it is
Wow I'm amazed at how well that works
IT WORKS.AMAZING BUY FOR 22 BUCKS

Can I use this as a crankshaft variation relearn procedure
Would this diagnose an abs sensor fault and the specific wheel ?

By me its teling one code i press enter and then it says no codes found on....

that code means bad o2/lamda sensor there will be 2 sensors in position before and after the cat converter

I don't have a check engine light on I have an ABS light on will this work for that or is it strictly just check engine light
engine only
Does your check engine light have to be one to use it? My light came on but turned off
there were out of this one but have simular one for 28$
Will it work on a acura tsx 06
I bought this and mine it says how many coals it's reading but then when I push it it says there is no codes saves in the module
Does it read battery voltage when car is running?
How's it holding up after filming this?

Am I doing something wrong? I'm getting generic codes such as 7e8
But I also had the car on lol I didn't know you were supposed to have it off
INSTRUCTIONS SUPPLIED HERE AND THERE -READ THEM
So you have the engine running with the AC off, is that correct?
Tern the key to ''on'' (you don't need the engine to run). AC off.

No you gotta fix the problem.
just had 1 to £8.79p done the job . good little item
Most likely made by Autel for Walmart
Thanks, I bought one, is awesome, how many keys do you have?🤣you turn on your car and we hearing a lot keys 🥴👍
EXACTLY like my ol MAC scanner from early 2000s
Could this read if codes have been cleared recently
I bought two of these. One for each car. They worked great for about a year, then they just stopped working properly.
I hope it works for a year for 20 bucks I don’t care after that
Did you leave it on for a year?
Both stopped working at a year? Odds are somewhat greater than being struck by lightning.
@@patrickforbes9910lmfao that was funny I sure do hope u see this made me laugh
