Go for it! Curious to know why a partnership with Mango is forcing you to unsubscribe, but not my previous partnerships with COS, Arket, Uniqlo and Warehouse?
I did go for it! I had not been your subscriber for that long and had missed your previous fast fashion co-ops, but thanks for the honesty in pointing those out as well. I understand that you have bills to pay just like the rest of us, I just personally try to avoid fast fashion as much as possible and don’t want to watch content that promotes it.
I admire you for doing something outside your comfort zone, but I'm genuinely curious to hear your (honest) reasons for partnering with Mango as it seems out of the norm of the brands you usually wear and promote.
Hmmm, I wouldn't say it's any different to Uniqlo, Arket, COS, Warehouse -- all brands that I've partnered with recently.

You have established a level of trust with viewers like myself who watch your videos for fashion and lifestyle advice, so I hope you can understand why I asked for a bit more transparency about your motivations for choosing to work with a retailer you've never featured on this channel (and why I should also be supporting them and your endeavours together). Uniqlo, Arket, Cos, and Weekday are brands you wear, discuss and promote often on this platform (compared to Mango or Warehouse) and therefore seem more authentic.
Ahhh ok, I completely understand and sympathise with why you asked. I think I slightly misread your first comment! Thank you though, I appreciate the conversation. Every week (especially with my more fashion-heavy videos), I receive transparent messages from people sharing how they feel excluded or disconnected from my style and the more expensive brands I talk about. Most of them ask me kindly if I can include more brands at a range of different budgets. I saw the Mango project and the styling element of content I created with them as a way to accommodate this without being that hard sell, so I'd say that was a big motivation. Mango is also one of the very few high street brands that I see expanding their size range beyond an 18. They've got a longggg way to go don't get me wrong, but there are certainly more options there compared to other brands I've partnered with. It's a tough one. I remember vividly before this was my job when I was working in retail, and by no means in a position to afford many of the brands I wear today. Looking at bloggers in luxury, expensive brands whose style I adored and wished I could achieve so much also came with many unhealthy comparisons. I dunno. Maybe I'm too conscious about making people feel rubbish and want to cater to too many people's feedback?!
I would love for the project to be seen more as a styling tool from my side. But ultimately, it is still an association with Mango, though, and understand, as you say, might not seem authentic given I've not spoken about them before. Please know collaborative decisions with brands aren't made lightly, and I always want to be open with my audience. Hopefully, that explains a little bit; sorry, I didn't want this to be too rambly. ❤️

I can see how the project can be an extension of your style guides/clothes care guides and that is also a good way to promote the series to long-term viewers like myself who might not necessarily shop at Mango, but can still find value in the videos. 🙂

Can I suggest Dean take over as guest Vloger while you are busy? I just discovered his Instagram during the floor transformation period and find his insta stories v entertaining. Also there is a serious lack of male lifestyle TH-camrs that are not frantic Americans screaming at me that I’m not doing life correctly and that I should buy sock suspenders. It’s terrifying. Dean seems inclined to wear similar brands to myself, enjoys a gallery visit and a diy project which I think U.K. guys would appreciate. Food for thought. Looking forward to more van live vlogs too x

@@BrittanyBathgate1 no problem at all, the last vlog is telling of how busy you are and that is just one project of many as I’m sure you are working on several at any one time. I think you did amazing on the mango content especially considering that you felt outside of your comfort zone. I would of flopped having that many people behind the camera but you nailed it. Many people have said it but your blogs was a massive comfort during lockdown so thank you!

A good tailor can do the jean hem trick here in UK. Its very clever when done properly, but a bad job looks awful. Well worth finding someone that can do it, it makes such a difference. Oh, and that jacket looks friggin amazing! I can feel the softness through the screen!!!

I looked at some of the linked items but quite a few are brands I never shopped before so I cannot tell, if I should get my regular size (S) or maybe size up... For example, you mentioning that the weekday jeans tends to shrink a bit in the wash is such a good advise!!

Yay! New vlog upload! Nice way to ease me in to the upcoming workweek. :) Thank you, Brittany. I will definitely check out Sweet Bean Paste, Winter in Sokcho, The Maidens and Slow Fire Burning. I just got out of COVID and been experiencing brain fog. I finished 32 books last year and now I am struggling to read and even journal. I could definitely use a mental jumpstart. Agree with you on Crying in H Mart. I finished it but it was too hyped for me. The writing was clunky and the narrative wasn't intentionally linear nor non-linear. I dunno how else to put it. It was all over the place. You're right. Seemed like a get-it-off-her-chest writing that just became an accidental hit, I suppose.

I believe they've discontinued the 'Meg' mum jeans too, which out of all the jeans I've bought over the years, are the only ones that compliment my shape and fit so exquisitely. I don't think I've ever loved a pair of jeans so much.
YES I am elated about the return of Cheer!! I have to wait to watch Season 2 b/c my boyfriend is catching up by watching Season One, then we can watch together. Best reality show. Love. I always -also- love your videos, and outfits, and general vibe. I'm American but watch exclusively British vloggers b/c I find you all much nicer to watch than (most of) your American counterparts. Brittany, Hope you get to finish reading 'Crying in H Mart.' I am sure when you do get back to reading it you will realize , how Michelle Zauner manages to invoke memories that she can always carry with her through cooking and appreciation of her Korean culture as much as it is also associated with grief and loss. Incidentally, Michelle Zauner is the lead singer of her band Japanese Breakfast and the music is fantastic! You should give a listen:)

Original hem is definitely easily done. That's the way I've always had my jeans hemmed - for like 25 years? If your current tailor doesn't do it, just find another who does. You do have to be a bit careful: If the jeans have any kind of flare, esp if there's any stretch, they also need to cut away some of the hem or else they will tug and stretch the leg to fit the original hem and it permanently alters the leg. Does that make sense?

Its a pretty old one but a good'en to have in your collection with a mixture of art works and photography and funny diary entries

I discovered you in 2020 and have watched all of your vlogs multiple times ... until you moved into that apartment. Some ppl loved those vlogs, but I wasn't one of them. Your spirit is different when Dean is around and you're in the house - personally, it seems that you're more alive. You beam!
