This was my favourite song for about a year ! When I heard it the first few times, I was getting into a newly discovered TH-cam channel: Drachinifel (Naval Histriographer) I listen to this song when I watch an episode. It expresses the reassurance of a sailor to his kin and friends; "You been so wrong about me living in Hell....." It's neat to tab this tune with the beginning of one of the regular Drach' episodes (muted), starting the Drachinifel intro video at the beginning of the first drum beat of this song @ 0:14.5 Watching the Szent Istvan (Battleship Capsizes - TH-cam), works @1:35 of this song. However Yukon blonde’s oscilloscope image @1:28 eerily portrays the first formate of radar and sonar very effectively, as seen from an operators perspective. Even the woman singing in French ...... Drach's 'French Pre-Dreadnaughts - When Hotels go to War' anyone?. p.s. I have the highest respect for anyone in the navy. I don't think I would have the guts to serve deep inside a naval vessel with little hope of escape, - the heroism of damage control teams that struggle to save their ship.....it rolls over and they die! Drowning, fire, are primal fears. Add confinement, duty to stay at one’s post, etc, and you have a true living hell. And yet naval history is fascinating.
this doesn't get nearly the love it should, one of the best recent Canadian releases ever. getting some Chicano Batman vibes with a Tame Impala interlude
I love the heavy punctuated bass and rhythm (start 0:05) 0:15 - 0:48. - vocals too! Also, I'm not sure of the instrument, whether it's a hand wipe on the bass strings, percussion - (fabric covered blocks), producing a rubbing swoosh similar to walking/rubbing legs together in snow pants, or turn table effect, such as @ 32 seconds (0:31), but it sounds great! Snappy song!
Saw you at Foodstock today. Heard of you before but didn't know your material. Went thru your channel and most of it doesn't do you justice. This is the best one from my view. Most of the recordings are overproduced and try too hard, don't capture the essence of what you do. You guys are good, you understand arrangement and the all important when not to play. Go for more raw on the recordings, let the personality shine thru without the heavy makeup fakery. I have 40 years in music and I know talent when I see it. You are better than your recorded sampling shows.
Un random me la recomendó en tt tons, por qué no? Y wow es simplemente mágico 💗👏
This was on my local radio station and I am very thankful.

CBC Q radio program played this song today. It's so great to dance to and impossible not to move, grind and bump to the beats. Thank you.
