Though ya, its kind of his stupidity as well...he's still keeping class differences and ego between them like not inviting her just bc he feels she won't fit in such a party and bc she dared to critique his idea...he should have sensibly invited her and tried to make her and Payal comfortable...then she could have been his (unofficial) date! On the other hand Khushi too is thinking only from her point of view, not trying to understand what kind of party he wants and why he is doing this...mainly for Akash and Payal's sake, to give them time together and to get Payal used to such types of parties which will be in her future after marriage. In this phase Arshi have all the intense feelings but they are lacking in understanding, communication, and trust which they eventually do learn... Compare this to how they are after marriage...how Arnav gets all the desi sweets and sari gift arranged for her just to cheer her up when she is tensed...how she tries to organize a date for him as per his westerm/modern wishes and likes so she can thank him for his efforts...by that time they understand and accept everything about each other perfectly...its such a beautiful progression!
