Putting my hands near my face to try this disrupts the liproll, so I can't really do this, at least not right now. But about doing these sounds one-handed: shouldn't you be able to get a similar result by using only the cupped hand opening and closing around the entire side of your mouth? Granted, some sound will escape without the other hand to create a tube/funnel to direct the sound, but it seems like the wah-wah effect could still be generated with only the cupped hand if you can close off enough of the region making the sound. It could be worth a try, at least..
