This is surprisingly a very wholesome. Joan is a nice lady this was awesome, back when musicians had personality and were actually people behind the costume.
Right off the bat I could see how: hip, happenin' and cool Joan Rivers is with this type of music. So classy. It must be an honour to be inter vied by her. This is what humanity is all about. Everyone getting along, not giving a fuck.
Agreed, this is the essence of humanity. GWAR is so important in that respect, in todays world of instant offence and political correctness GWAR confronted people with both unfamiliar yet natural ideas while being both hilariously obviously not true but at the same time containing deep down truths. So often humanity tries to pretend we are something we are not, so to have our animal nature projected as alien and then regurgitated to us theatrically allows us to accept ourselves and others because the juxtaposition of our differences is so large that it's easier to find common ground.
RIP Dave Brockie. You were too good for this planet, sweet prince. Also, I love how half his jokes go unappreciated by the Joan Rivers audience. Big surprise though... all in all a great performance if you ask me.
I saw GWAR with a friend, RIP, in Dallas, 1989. We were completely soaked with blood when we left. We stopped at an adult establishment on the border of TX and OK. The employees asked us why we were covered in blood, so we told them we went and saw a band that was from another universe. The response - "Seems like they musta been from anuther planit or sumpin'. TX education on display.
Wait, was this the place just east of Wichita Falls? Went there a few times when I was stationed at Sill. Good stuff as well as near real beer, not that 3% OK stuff.

I was at the Charlotte show when they were shutdown and arrested! It was epic!
"we are only fulfilling a consumer need" Joan Rivers is an icon.
I wish people understood the words they use instead of just parroting buzz words. Surprised you didn't say she was literally iconic.
@@juliebraden6911 wow, do you always assume so little of everyone? I get that by doing so it saves you from actually trying to deal with what was actually said but in reality all you are doing is showing yourself to be a self-important douche-bag that looks down on others for any reason they can.
THAT was huuuuge!!
Rumors were that Joan and Dave truly did enjoy each others company...Joan is even been rumored to have puppeteered World Maggot on Phallus in Wonderland....
And she thought they were joking. Absolute classic.
She was so generous with this! If you can get Dave Brockie and Beefcake to laugh...damn!
This is surprisingly a very wholesome. Joan is a nice lady this was awesome, back when musicians had personality and were actually people behind the costume.
Thank you Uploader! ❤
I love gwar. I really miss the eighties and early nineties when people still had a sense of humor.
Absolutely
Too many snowflakes now whose realities are on the smartphone they glue their faces to.
You know gwar is still around and just as absurd, right? Or did you just wanna whine?
@@tecky5296 Who's whining? I just said I love GWAR.
Spoken like a true old fart who doesn't really try to experience new things anymore and instead just sits around and bitches
Joan Rivers was the best talk show host ever! She was Awesome!
Worse jew outside of hitler
Agreed.
They’re still great but nothing beats that booming Dave Brockie voice
The satirical social commentary is actually brilliant. "Let them join the army or something. There's plenty of outlets for that." 🤣
Yeah we watched it too
Ok… umm this is one of the best interviews ever. These two are high-frickin-hilarious. I cannot believe I haven’t seen this before.
One of the best shows I've ever seen if not the best!!🤘🤘
She genuinely had a blast with these guys! RIP Oderus!
When Joan goes “‘Scumdogs of the Universe’! Thank god it’s out!”😂
GWAR was one of the best shows I've ever seen!!
GWAR "ate me", ...front row... and I went backstage. ;-)
We are only supplying a consumer NEED!! LOL!!!
This interview and her interview with the Beastie Boys are just amazing!
This is gold, their wit is amazing
Ahhh.....such delightful chaps, really.
They pulled Joan Rivers funnybone so hard, in this interview. These guys were NUTS! I loved it!
"Cleveland" lol Brockie was a genius.
Joan and Gwar, so much fun. Thank for the memories BGLM
RIP Dave Brockie. You were too good for this planet, sweet prince. Also, I love how half his jokes go unappreciated by the Joan Rivers audience. Big surprise though... all in all a great performance if you ask me.
The Metal Community continues to monitor and support the situation.
All hail the rock of Metal.
That's just Dallas, man.
@@Pcwizayylmao apparently you didnt comprehend the post! 😆
@@josephaltman460 oh yeah I misread that they went to the edge of Texas and Oklahoma. Thanks
Wait, was this the place just east of Wichita Falls?
Went there a few times when I was stationed at Sill. Good stuff as well as near real beer, not that 3% OK stuff.
I'm so happy for you that you got the opportunity to run in here and brag about it. Now we can all marvel at how smart you are. Thank you for this gift.
“You’ve probably already done that on sally jesse” so quick, Joan!!!
“How far are you guys going to go?” Touche, Gwar. Touche.
Was lucky enough the first time I saw them in high school back in 93 I believe, my parents had no idea who I had tickets to see at the Crowbar in St College then the second time was at the Bowery both were very similar balcony venues and rank at the top of all shows I’ve been too! White T-shirt Gwar show ty-die shirt and memories of ppl with multi colored contact eyes...... RIP Odorous!
Back when we used to stay home from school..... ❤ ❤ ❤
04:12 Omg that laugh! RIP Oderus
His voice reminded me of the gas man from hellboy 2 man I loved his songs. May he R.I.P 😢
2 of them already gone. This is one of the best videos. I laugh every time.
one of the best, most interesting interviews of her career! Joan is a Goddess.! what a gem of tv history.... RIP Joan ,and Dave !!! im sure joan now know ,what you mean ... Hail Oderus. Let US SLAY
Love, love, love that he said Tipper Gore was holding the cuddle fish!!
If you kids don't know who she is, all the great musicians came together to fight her & the PMRC in court!
Turned out Tipper was right! Look at the Pandora's Box of filth that has come out since!
@@inconnu4961
Tipper has entered the chat.
Jfc we have an old person explaining basic concepts in a fuckin Gwar thread
@@inconnu4961lmfao
"Will you please welcome - GWAR!"
...and they come plodding out to that music.
I saw GWAR twice. They were a laugh riot. Also, they really did rock pretty well.
I know Joan Rivers passed away a long time ago, but seeing this show makes me really like her. I think she was a great talk show host. She was unique.
Beefcake though. 🤣 Legitimately one of the best bass players.
