I’m glad someone else brought this up. The night he presented it, I would have grilled him about the cost, size of the mortgage, how when was infrastructure going to be put in, were the permits approved, etc. He always has pipe dreams and no tangible action plans. Plus some people reported there were building restrictions on the property. Never gonna happen.
I was shocked that Kody admitted this last episode that he asked Janelle to share her income with “the family” and she was like “Nuh huh, no.” And Kody’s like “she left and is taking the profits with her.” I was like, wow. He just confirmed what we all had been thinking this whole time. He has some nerve, to ask Christine for the house proceeds as she’s leaving and then ask Janelle to pay into the “family account” as she’s leaving. He is irredeemable and shameless.
I would add that even if Meri and Jenelle get their Coyote Pass money - they are paying hefty legal fees to do so. I guess there's a possibility they could sue him for reimbursement of those fees? I'm not a lawyer so who knows? What a total pain in the kidney for these 2 women!!!
No, they can only sue Kody and ask the court to force him to “agree to put the property for sale.” And when the property sells, they can get their share, but legally they can only ask that 2 parcels be sold (ONLY the 2 parcels that have their names on them). They can’t force Kody to actually “buy them out.” They can’t force Kody to pull money out of his pocket bc they are co-owners. Kody doesn’t “owe” them ANYTHING. Oh, and JnM don’t have ANY claim to the 2 parcels that don’t have their names on them. So, if they push legal action, Kody will say fine and agree to put their 2 parcels for sale and divide that only, and KnR get to keep the other 2 parcels free and clear. IMO that’s why JnM don’t want to push legally. They are literally at KnR’s mercy. Of they push, they get even less. If they want 1/4 of the entire 4 parcels, they have to wait for Kody to be generous. Oh, and no Kody won’t be ordered to pay JnM’s legal fees. These women are not protected by divorce. Meri finalized her divorce years ago, so there’s no legal way to force a division of assets. These are just adults who bought property together. 🤷♀️
Honestly I’m surprised that they didn’t do a storyline of moving back to the Utah big home after Christine left. 3 wife’s, 3 apartment. They agreed it was the best set up. I would have made a great storyline. However unrealistic it would have been. Could you imagine Robyn being the basement wife? Tv gold.
Spot on commentary! I also think that the casita house plans were never going to happen, either. All content for the show only. Building on Coyote Pass was never going to happen anytime with any of the wives.
These women should not give Kody and Robyn any more money after everything is settled with CP. No more partnerships, no investing. Nothing. I think kody would do anything in his power to screw over Janelle and Meri if they gave him any power in their lives.
Another reason this would never happen is it was also dependent on not just the wives but their families. None of the kids wanted polygamy, neither did their spouses. All the kids were older and couldn’t wait to get out. Who was gonna live there? All that house for Robyn’s kids? And Meri with no kids at all? I think that idea was just something to fill in the episode 😂
Just like the Vegas houses Kody and Robyn both spoke of needing separate units so each woman could leave if they wanted and had some asset. Kody saying how he was trying to trick them into thinking it is single family for approval but convincing the women they were 4 separate units was quite telling.
I have also heard that property was not zoned for permanent residence. Only like vacation rentals. Kody would have loved to have tied up all the money in one big house to make it so much harder for any wife to leave with assets. This is the reason he put multiple names on the lots. So Meri would have to go after Janelle and vice versa to force sales.
I don’t believe they would have been able to build a multifamily unit anyway - if I remember correctly, Kody knew that and had made a comment about only having a single front entrance. The “apartments” weren’t divided up equally anyway. Robyn’s footprint was almost double anyone else’s and Christine, once again, found herself in the “basement”. Personally, I think this was Kody’s elaborate plot to distance himself from Christine & Meri. Janelle was so low maintenance, that he figured he could string her along and still keep her money. He had to have known that Christine & Meri wouldn’t want the one big house - especially if his relationship with them was already in the toilet
It is my understanding as of today, Coyote pass hasn’t been sold, so there’s no waiting to watch it on TV. There was NEVER going to be one house. They NEVER had money to build one house.
The whole “dream home” bothered me from conception. Kody is talking about how tight finances are, but goes and spends $5-10k on an architect to draw it up and do the technical layout for blueprints.
💯 everything you said yes. Robin never wanted this. 2 if someone was a good detective they would interview the architect. But they probably signed a NDA with tlc so it would go no where
I am not defending Kody, but the truth is had they not had a reality tv show the og3 would not be as well off as they are now. Yes, he didn’t deal fairly, but because of their fame their mlm endeavors are very successful which would not have happened otherwise. I hope they get what they deserve, but they are in way better positions than the average woman in polygamy. They have so many options to make money so I hope they move on and advocate for others in this system who are truly oppressed and stuck. I have listened to respect for Janelle who still believes in this system which ultimately destroyed her son and did irreparable damage to the other children. I hope she can connect the dots.
You're right. If you ever watch,"Notes To Self 444," Melanie said the same thing in some commentary yesterday. She's the oldest daughter of the current AUB leader, and she's got some really strong feelings about a lot of this. She's been out of the cult for decades now. She knew Christine and Meri growing up, and her husband was best friends with one of Robyn's older brothers. They can't stand Robyn either. Not that they like Kody either.
My point was each one of these ladies can move on and will probably be financially ok. That isn’t the case for most women stuck in polygamy. It is not that relevant to me who gets the credit for their fame, I’m just pointing out they have ways to parley their misfortune into financial gain.
I'm thinking Kody wanted a big house for him and Robyn's crew. I believe that his plan to make everyone leave after they paid for it to build it, by being his lovely self. He did get all of them to leave....
I have a different take on this one. Watching the episode, Robyn tells the wives (while doing vision boards) that she told Kody to close his eyes and imagine all his family in one home. Then Janelle adds, “So THAT’S where he got it!! I was wondering where this was coming from!” So I really wonder if Robyn DID want it because she was getting impatient with not all her SWs kissing her ring, and she thought the big home would do 2 important things for her: -make it very difficult for any wives to leave financially, with no home to sell and use toward their next place -she also hoped it would start forcing them to be her besties. She’s heard how Janelle and Christine didn’t get along but since they had to share a home, it forced them to work together to become friends….
I googled it yesterday and it says Janelle got bought out of coyote pass for $340,000. She bought her place in North Carolina for $289,000. I’d be interested to see if she used the coyote pass money to pay off the farm. If she paid off her half, she could potentially have 200k left over to build her dream house on it. That’s not taking into account the money she got from Garrison’s home (may he rest in piece)
I agree. I doubt a build on the property was ever going to happen. They should have bought the property and paid it off and started plans for building before leaving Vegas. It never made sense the way they left Vegas.
All those episodes of Robyn saying she wanted a rental were lies. She wanted her mansion which I believe is very near the CP property. She and Kody never intended to build on CP. I don’t see the appeal of that property other than the Mountain view. It looks like the landscape of the moon.
Not sure if this is true, but in another comment section, @Cindela52 stated that she recently paid for the property records for Coyote Pass, and that it now lists three owners: Kody, Robyn, and Dayton. If that's true, then Kody must have paid off Janelle and Meri - somehow.
Nikki could 1 of kody business be stealing content and posting it on social media to make money . Does it pay that well . The different chats are run by different branchs of family . Jessops . Kendrea . Etc
I reckon Cody wanted to keep the land for sale as the surveyor or land estate people said it would be worth a lot of money, rather than build any houses on it, Cody even said it and Robyn said no.
Robin didn’t even want to live in one house for 30 days while they were looking for rentals in Vegas .
I’m glad someone else brought this up. The night he presented it, I would have grilled him about the cost, size of the mortgage, how when was infrastructure going to be put in, were the permits approved, etc. He always has pipe dreams and no tangible action plans. Yes. Nobody surveyed it before buying. Did Kody always know they couldn’t build without electricity, gas, water and a paved road
I was shocked that Kody admitted this last episode that he asked Janelle to share her income with “the family” and she was like “Nuh huh, no.”

Yes. Where’s the money for the family from the mansion?

😂😂
I saw an interview with Meri a few weeks ago, and they asked her if we would see a resolution to Coyote Pass this season and she said no.
Even in this building plan was approved by the local authorities, and he started to build, only Robyn’s portion would have been completed.
Spot on commentary! I also think that the casita house plans were never going to happen, either. All content for the show only. Building on Coyote Pass was never going to happen anytime with any of the wives.
I look forward to your daily quick videos Nikki. I enjoy them. Thank you!

I can't imagine even a tiny home with only one egress point. Seems like a fire hazard
It had back doors, but only 1 front door to be considered a single family home.
Obviously, you can’t get a building permit until all of those things are to code.
Just like the Vegas houses Kody and Robyn both spoke of needing separate units so each woman could leave if they wanted and had some asset.

As a narcissist, Kody loves to bloviate.
SOOOOOooooooo glad for the OG's to be free.
I am more shocked a draftsman was willing to complete a drawing like this. They know better regarding building codes.
Janelle already said in an interview (not on the show) that Coyote Pass does NOT get resolved on this season…. Just FYI😊
His hubris puts the good in goodbye
Could they even afford to have all that contaminated soil removed and replaced? That would be an extensive investment in itself!!
FACTS!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Christine is the one that talked to folks that were interested in doing a show - she then took it to the family. It wasn't Kody's doing.

Kody is a tycoon in his mind.
He’s more like a typhoon.

did it mention how much Meri got?
@ her name is no longer on the deed but the amount she received wasn’t disclosed. I hope she got an equal amount to Janelle.
How will we know this season? As of last week CP hasn’t sold or changed ownership in any sort of fashion? I guess we might in season 28 😂😂😂
