This is really the first box van conversion I could see myself living in. The layout of the living room and kitchen are so smart. You can tell these 2 are extremely creative. Great build, I love it!!!
It feels like I have seen every campervan, box truck, and cargo trailer build out there, and this one is still one of my very favorites. I have found that I have 3 requirements that I can't live without on my build. First is a hydraulic bed, so I can have a spacious seating area like this one. Second, if it's a campervan, the cab needs to be walled off. Ideally, there would be access to the cab. I'm not sure if this is a deal breaker. With a campervan, I would definitely have a passage to the cab. With a box truck, I would probably cut a small door so I could hunch over and crawl into the cab. My 3rd requirement is a shower that is either separate.from the toilet, or that has a toilet that is hidden in the wall of the shower so you can slide it out when you need it, and the rest of the time it is slid into the wall, out of the way. I would have a no flush toilet. It's the only toilet I would be ok with that doesn't involve a black water tank.

This build will go down as one of my favorites for many reasons. First, it crushes the sprinter van cookie cutter builds that are just claustophopic and redicliously expensive. Your build screams comfort and practicality. I love refurbishing things and you have incorporated those items perfectly. It also shouts creativity. Every nook was carefully considered. The bed lift was ingenious. The cat nook was brilliant. It didn't matter the size; you just made it a real home. You must of had a lot of fun contructing it. I can imagine the cat overseeing all your hard work. You both have such warm personalities so seeing the end result was beautiful. Well done.

I'm currently building in an Isuzu box truck as well. Similar layout to what I was planning and slightly jealous they got such a good deal. I had to pay 4k for a 1994, and I didn't even get a liftgate! Just rust :(

What an amazingly well designed home on wheels. If I had to make any criticism, it would be that that the stove should be where there sink is. I say this because in the 90's I had a Bedford Ambulance converted into a camper and the stove was where it is in this set up. The problem for me was the smell of the cooking went up into the bed and made it smell. I had a bed platform as opposed to a lift. Happy days......

I found and bought a box truck $3,700 and building a pad and put it beside my garage. I was going to put shelving and used as a storage container on wheels for my Electrical left over stock materials. 9 feet high about 20 feet long Ford E-450 run great and but my daughter was telling me about van life people. Maybe and I’m thinking about turning into a small house. I think it will be fun . Great Ideas. Great video.

After watching a early episode of your build I went on auto tempest and found a 94 GMC flat front cab, with 88k miles and it was 6,900.. auto tempest looks at all classifieds, craig fboo all of them so you can compare. Auto Tempest, worth checking out..

Keep in mind that the battery system is a flammable issue. It's similar to what we have in semis and they're known to catch on fire. Make sure you have a fire alarm and a fire extinguisher nearby.
