Reminds me of waiting for the Brookside omnibus on a Saturday afternoon. Footage of the exciting conclusion to the day's big race would replay with this soundtrack underneath, as the breathless commentator would be going up an octave with each sentence. "Marmaduke Springboard in second place. Fortitude Cheeseboard in third. Over the final hurdle, MARMADUKE SPRINGBOARD GOES DOWN! A scramble for the final furlong. Sumptuous Shandy takes a clear lead. And what a win for the 16 to 2 outsider.".
I like it, especially on demand/downloaded without the announcer going on about the next programmes. My favourite version is channel four 2000-2002, which seems to be hard to find on TH-cam.

loved this theme channel 4 has lost the plot with racing they got rid if all the best commentators and pundits and. they got rid of this theme tune now ITV have got the racing next year.
Does anybody have the slightly longer version of this they used at the end of the programmes, without any commentary, or the version they replaced it with in 2000?
@billboy no worries billboy, I'm sorry I can't help you, I don't have that theme or any others. I used to have some of the old channel four racing themes, at the races, recorded on VHS video which got destroyed many years ago with other tapes.
