Thank you so much! Considering the tiny scale and time I spent with each mini, I am happy with them too! Although they could look much better with more time and effort, of course.
I only recently got into painting minis because of Crisis Protocol, and for some reason forgot about the Dune Imperium Minis. I have so many minis to paint, and I'm so excited.
When I though about painting this miniatures I thought it will be really long boring process. Then I saw your video and realize that is actually a pretty cool! Until you started to paint the yellow and blue miniatures. Red and green I done for under 1 hour and a half and was not even hard. Than when I saw how you are doing yellow and blue I realize that it will take 2 hours only for the one army. So Now I am stuck to think about my idea how to looks and be paint faster. Great video anyway! The result is amazing!
Thanks for the feedback, we'reglad you liked the video! You should definitely experiment with different colours and see what you can come up with. You can probably do it faster than me! A tip is to do a test model first before you paint everything.
Nice work. I'm about to paint mine as well. Did you ever try to mix Army Painters Corpse Pale (WP1411) and Dragon Red (WP1105) to get a brilliant flesh tone?
Thank you so much! 😃 I don't own the Army Painter range, so I haven't tried those colours in particular. But looking at their tones online, I think that could work! Maybe start with Pale Flesh and gradually add a little Dragon Red at a time until you're happy? Have fun painting, I bet your minis will look great!
Thank you so much, have fun painting yours! Does House Richese (or Thorvald for that matter) have any traditional colours? Since the designs didn't come from the film, I just used my imagination.
@phizi7844 You could absolutely use normal acrylic paints on the sand 👍 pigments can add a bit of realism to a base, because they are so matt and "dry" and they can provide a natural gradient on top of what you painted/applied to the base.
@KabinMiniatures thank you very much for the quick response:) since the miniatures are so small and I am not that into miniature painting I think I will go with normal paint instead. But the Video was super helpful especially for getting confident to paint something with such a small scale
@phizi7844 So glad you enjoyed it! You should definitely try painting them 👍 don't put a ton of pressure on yourself, just try and have fun and be creative. Even if you end up not being 100% satisfied, remember it's your first attempt and I'm sure your painted version will be preferable to the unpainted!
Thanks for asking, I'm really flattered! I work 45 hours a week as a teacher and then I try to find enough hours in my spare time to be able to run this channel as well, so currently I just wouldn't be able to do any commissions on top of that.
@@KabinMiniatures thanks dude. I enjoy painting but am partially colourblind so painting guides like the one you’ve kindly created are highly appreciated. I really hope you complete the tutorial series for dune or at least create a video showing off your work with a list of the paints used. Keep up the good work 👍
@PACEUK22 Thanks, I'm glad you found it useful! If you have any suggestions about how I can make my content more accessible for people with colour blindness, please let me know 👍 I still run this channel in my spare time in addition to my regular job as a teacher. But hopefully, I can get another Dune video out this year, I'm pumped for the second film!
@@KabinMiniatures cool. It’s really simply tbh, just mention the colours you are using and paint name( sometimes citadel paints aren’t named very intuitively 😄).
@@alivecertified That should be completely fine! A lighter undercoat is better if you're planning to use light colours, for example it's way easier to paint yellow over a white undercoat as opposed to a black one. That being said, dark colours cover light undercoats really easy too, so whatever you choose to use, your undercoats shouldn't give you any trouble. Traditionally a black undercoat can be used as a base, since it can be your darkest level of shadows and then you build on top of that (and if you miss any spots it will just look like shadows anyway). But you certainly don't have to use any specific undercoat, it's really up to you.
@@alivecertified I understand and I've felt the same way too in the past. But do give it a go, I believe most paintjobs are preferable to unpainted plastics. If you're new to the whole thing, I think these tiny troops would benefit from drybrushing. Its a simple method where you take a larger brush (preferably an old one you don't care about) and wipe most of the paint off on a tissue or similar, then brush across the model so that only the raised details will be picked out and coloured. That way you can highlight the model quick and easy. Maybe basecoat the areas in a darker colour of your choice first and then use a lighter shade for the drybrushing 👍

Very nice work. And Yes, I'd really like to see you paint the other minis.
Thank you so much! It's going to be fun to paint some Fremen and Sardaukar for sure!
Agreed, I was on the fence about buying this set but after watching this video I bought it and am looking forward to painting them.
Just finished painting the 48 minis thanks to your video. My first go at it all. Hoping you’ll paint the rest:)
Awesome job! I have plans to paint some more of this later this year, since Dune Part 2 is coming!
Unbelievable how much detail you brought out on those teeny tiny figures! I'd love to see what you do with the agents and faction vp tokens!!
Wow, thank you so much! I love the Sardaukar minis and would love to spend some more quality painting time on those!

@@KabinMiniatures Got mine yesterday. The troops are really small, more impressive that you painted them. Deciding what I want to do with them.
@@chrispatty8953 awesome, I'm glad you got your hands on them now. I know, right - the troop size surprised me too when I first saw them.

hi! great job! wich is the size of the bases?
Thank you so much 😊 the bases on these small soldiers are 15mm. The Agent tokens have 25mm bases, and the Alliance tokens have 35mm bases.
