    Can you do a cad tutorial on how you 3D modeled these?

    • @Gah_Hofs
      @Gah_Hofs 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Its not that hard, you can model the final vase as you want, and use a blank block as the mold. Then use a Combine Tool in your CAM software with an Intersection cuttout, you will be left with the whole mold. After that all you need to do is to cut the bottom and separate the perimeter in 3 pieces. Tune the joints so you have interlocking surfaces, and you're ready to go.

    • @Gah_Hofs
      @Gah_Hofs 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      With 3 extrusions, one Swept Cut and a Circular pattern you already have the vase drawn

    • @kleckerklotz9620

      I thought the same. Since this is how industrial molds are made.

    • @josephdecesaro1528
      @josephdecesaro1528 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      All of the salt annealing I've seen make the part rougher on the surface. I believe salt annealing is to add strength to the part and avoid layer separation which he doesn't really need here.

    • @Mediamarked
      @Mediamarked 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Kurogod5 If you tried salt annealing yourself, taste the surface. Even after washing parts many times, I can taste the salt.. Not good for plants, salt...
      Even though it is used as a mould, and the final product is diluting eventual salt released, and sealed- I'd hate it if a potted plant died from that. Especially if I'd sold it.
      Also needs to be heated very carefully, the "ideal baking temperature range" for a smooth/ fully remelted pla print, and a hard porous sponge can be very small. So small, that you have to account for volume, mass of plastic, mass of salt, container size... Sadly not yet a "place in oven, heat, presto" process at the moment.
