    Very fair explanation of both big city and small town. I live in a small town and I am considering on moving to the big city possibly. I can relate to the friends and family aspect due to friends and family I have in small town I live in. I am like I would love to move to big city due to much more to do, lots more opportunities, much bigger and better transit systems compared to where I live, much more diversity and much more options and so on, however I would miss my friends and family if I would leave. However I will say also that there are times in ones life where it is best for one to move from small towns to big cities regardless of the friends and families in the small towns. Things such as job losses in small towns, loss of so called friends and family due to lack of acceptance, gossip and so called friends maintaining friendships through hearsay of their so called friend of theirs, the small town cliques and nepotism with people making excuses for their bad behaviors without considering ones feelings, running into schoolmates from years back acting as rude as they did in school refusing to grow up, petty grudges and prejudices of old that others refuse to get over, running into same people over and over-especially the ones I do not get along with, are also reasons I feel to move to a big city ditching the small town one has grown up in. Sometimes I feel I have reached a point in my life where I feel it would be best for me to move to a big city due to some of these things that have been occurring with me in the small town I live in lately.

    Apparently 9000 is small...
    Everyone in my city knows each other except for me. Nobody knows me, and I don't know anyone.

    As someone who escaped NY and went to the country upstate you didn’t talk about any of the downsides: noisy neighbors, pest infestation (not just mice, bed bugs rats...) MTA falling apart 100+ year old subways, nuts flipping out on you if you make eye contact, garbage everywhere, tiny supermarkets, impossible to own property... not much was different as a teen still felt like nothing to do but internet and movies. There was Jones beach and like splish splash in Long Island but it’s the northeast so that was just 3 months of the year.

      I actually didn’t experience any of the downsides you mentioned! never had bed bugs, noisy neighbors, only ever killed one bug in my apt., mta never made me late (although I always left early just to make sure), and no one has ever flipped out on me...it’s all in the eye of the beholder! some people just aren’t built for the city.

    The amount of times this chick says literally and like is the reasons I could never live in a big city also, there's more to life than shopping and trendy diet fads.

    I hear you about small town living. I have lived in Alaska the past 8 years and recently moved to a big city in Texas. my dad was military but both my parents families are here in TX. I feel like I have so much more job opportunities as well as better options for food, clothing, etc. I do miss going to my local places and people knowing my immediate family and I wherever we go but when it comes down to it there is nothing like having the chance to explore more than just my backyard :)

    Love your overalls! Pleas can you make a video on how to style them multiple different ways for summer? Also how to incorporate overalls as a swimsuit cover with different swim suits for going to the pool/beach? That would be awesome;)

    I assumed that in a small town you would actually get more exercise. If something's closer to your home, why not just walk? Maybe not idk, I live in the suburbs.

    • @bedheadbeth
      @bedheadbeth  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      there are no sidewalks so you’d either have to walk in the road or in the tall grass, and nothing is close together so it’s take 45-60 minutes at the least to really get anywhere

    This video is speaking to my soul so strongly right now. I grew up in Oklahoma too (I go to OU, so still here) and I'm weighing pros and cons of moving to a big city after I graduate. This was exactly the video I was searching for!! I can relate to the Hannah Montana skinny jeans, thrifting, and having literally nothing to do that doesn't cost money (pretty sure there's one H&M now... somewhere). It's good to see and hear perspectives from places like OK, we're full of so many kids who want to get out but get bogged down. Good luck out there, hopefully I'll get there someday too!

    • @bedheadbeth

    I LOVED THIS VIDEO SO MUCH!! I want to move to New York so bad when I'm older. Like I literally spend my free time looking at apartments in New York (I live in a small town and like you said what is there to do?) Also, I was wondering where you got your glasses from and if they're prescription glasses? If they are prescription what kind are they? xoxo

    • @bedheadbeth
      @bedheadbeth  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ahhh thank you!! my glasses are linked in the description box of the video (i got them in size large)! and aren't prescription but are ebd blue (i have light sensitive eyes) and protect your eyes from harsh blue light.

    I moved from a city to a small town and when I mention food like truffle fries or gyros or when I pronounce general Tzo the correct way these country ass people cock their heads sideways like a dog and look at me like what the hell are you talking about. It cracks me up.

      @@bedheadbeth I moved to a town of about 70,000 from the Dallas, Irving, Fort Worth area of Texas. Anybody who has ever been there can tell you that it is huge.
      It was for work related purposes. It butts up against two other towns one of about 40,000 and one of around 10,000 people so it isn't exactly a really small town. The mentality of the locals is very much like in a small town though. The only difference that I can see is here you still see many of the same people on a daily basis but there is more of them and the cliques are bigger so if you piss someone off instead of fewer people hating you there are more hating you now. Everybody is always in your business and everybody elses, they gossip like it is going out of style, they look down on outsiders, they spread rumors just for something to do here. I swear they do. The people are fucking pathetic and they don't even realize it. I'm ready to go back to my hometown which isn't as big as the Dallas area but it is much bigger than where I am now. My hometown has around 800,000 now.

      Jeremiah makaveli true i spend 2 month at my cousin house who lived in a small 30 000 people town surrounded by only forest and huge driveways. And 99% of people were white. I spotted only a indian and a filipino as foreigner
      There was not a single black or mixed black white people! And no asian!
