    After, literally, HOURS..., I finally found your video that told me about taking (what I call) "The Air-Spoiler" off located UNDER the exhaust manifold. I tried to remove the oil filter without knowing about this "Air Dam"/"Valence Sheet"/"Spoiler 😅"..., and I have big hands AND..., the old oil filter was a larger sized diameter 😮😂😢!!! A "Visual" is needed here, and a much longer story 😂😂😅!!!
    FANTASTIC video here, and HUGE kudos and praises to you for a "job well done." Now I can FINALLY drive my car with some clean(er) oil 😂. I/we THANK YOU 🎉❤😂!!!

    4:07 there most definitely is a difference in the quality of oil filters. cut open a cheap fram and an expensive mobil 1 or royal purple filter, you will see the difference in the quality of materials

      Just go with a OEM Toyota filter. Most dealer parts counter will include a drain plug washer. My second choice would be a WIX or WIX XP filter.

      Once you open Supertech "cheap" oil filter and compare it to any mid-tier $5-$8 oil filter - then you will see how well the Supertech oil filter is made. It is definitely the best bang for the buck and is more than enough for up to 10k miles, if you vehicle manufacturer recommends such interval.

      Fram lowest line of filters are absolute crap. But when you go for tough guard or extra or ultra synthetic they are on par with top tier filters

    I have a 2007 Highlander with a V6 and was prepared to remove the air dam that the video and the service manual showed. When I climbed under the car I was surprised to find that I didn't have one and there was very easy access to the filter. I have no idea why mine would be different, maybe it was a late model 2007, but it was completely different.

    • @2carpros
      @2carpros  3 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @alanpatterson17
      @alanpatterson17 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@2carpros No, it didn't have a place for it. The bumper wrapped under and it was all there was. I don't know if the fact that it's a Limited makes a difference or if it was a late model change. Either way, I'm not complaining since it's a lot easier and looks like it will be the easiest oil change of any car I've had. :-) Also, I really like the little funnel they have below the filter that directs the oil into the pan. Thanks for the reply, it is a great video.

    it would be nice if you had mention two things one to becarefull to put the plug in the right way and mention if it is hard to twist it means the threads are not lined up properly and two DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO JIFFFFFY LUUUUBE because their technicians are good at ruining your drain and the plug threads. they did to mine and I cant even prove it because I decided to change the oil myself and that is when I found out now I have to spend $100 the cheapest to replace the pan myself which it looks easy but the pan is silicone glued on and makes it difficult to remove if the car is on the floor jack.

    You can’t pre-fill the filter on these anyway because the filter points downwards. I don’t buy that you don’t need to pre-fill filters - whenever you can go ahead it’s not gonna hurt that’s for sure so why not take an extra 30 seconds?
