I had NO idea what to make of Dance Monkey the first time I listened to it. Then, out of nowhere, Hannah came in with her "ooohhhhh" and I was shocked. I mean, I liked her in Africa, but that song didn't let her fully show off the pipes. To me, it felt more like a backing vocal performance, and she was over-powered by Leo's vocals. NONE of this is a complaint. It's still my favorite Leo song. I just didn't realize Hannah had alllll that voice. Dance Monkey is now in my top 5 Leo songs.

A short history lesson about Leo: He has been playing metal music his whole life, mostly as a singer but also as a guitarist, and eventually opened a studio Originally he just wanted local people to come record at his studio, so he did a few metal YT videos of pop songs to make people notice the studio A few of them blew up and vent viral, so eventually he changed his business to doing YT videos in his studio once a week (he has since moved to a new house with a new/bigger studio) A few times he the did videos with guest stars - and this Africa one became a big hit for him/them He was then asked again and again to play it live. At first he turned it down, and said it wasn't meant for live playing, because he does so much layering when he records the videos But eventually he agreed, gathered a band (the 2 guests in this video are part of it) and started touring The 2 guests are a couple by the way. They live in the UK
They were part of his touring band in 2019. There's some killer live footage. I don't know who they got into the white rabbit suit, but they're a party monster.
There are also several recurring themes/characters in his video. Like the rabbit, the puppet, his use of kids toy instruments in some songs, etc. His videos are just fun, and great music. Not every one hits home with me, but I still respect the work that goes into them. Everyone is going to say Hello, Sultans of Swing, Dance Monkey. Those are all awesome covers and videos. But one of my favorites is You're The Voice.
Not only very talented but also very humble. I love how even on his own channel he steps back and let's other musicians do their thing,always helping other and boosting the other musicians channels and getting them out there. Such a great guy....

Yet i would also love to bring a new band to your attention: "Heilung" - "In Maidjan live at Castlefest" About Heilung: They're a danish band with 3 permanent members which are from Germany, Denmark and Norway, they create a hole new genre calling it "Amplified history from iron aged and viking aged scandinavia and northern germany". All their lyrics are based on archeologic findings such as runestones, swords, pendents, amuletts etc. They work together with historians and are deeply into re-enactment and the guy from Germany, Kai, is a shaman.
Rabea Massaad has a youtube channel where they buy gear to make their guitars sound just like the person they are impersonating. I thought that was him. cool video, thanks!!!
I saw Leo on a festival in Austria listening to the bands while having a beer with one of his crew and I saw him, said to my gf that I have to talk to him and he is such a nice dude. We talked for a couple of minutes and I got to take a photo with him. He is so talented and loves doing his thing you have to admire him. You should definitely check out more of his covers!

63-year old metal head here. Nice to see your reactions. Rabea (Ra-bee-ah) is a British guitarist from Yorkshire originally, now in Brighton. He is literally my favourite guitarist on the planet. He plays in Toska, a prog metal 3-piece band with no singer. I literally travel from Toronto to the UK to see Toska - you need to react to Toska. Hannah is Rabea’s spouse, and she sings in a jazz band called Bledig.

Leo is a fun rabbit hole, and his sense of humor and humility are consistently present. Not all of his covers always hit the mark as well as his best work, but they're all fun. As far as the funniest, I still smile when I think of of his metal cover of "The wheels on the bus".

The first Leo song I ever heard was Disco Inferno; shared to FB by a friend. I got goosebumps, and dove down the rabbit hole. Sultans of swing is one of my favorites, as is Zombie.
I know it's a year old but interesting thing I noticed. Leo is playing a Chapman Guitar. Rob Chapman is the owner of those. He also started a band named Djore (SP). Rebea is the lead guitarist for them.
Leo covers every type of music from 'The devil went down to Georgia' to 'Bad boys - the cops theme' even Disney tunes from Frozen. His video's are always a blast he loves to get dressed up and they just make you smile. If you think this setup is cool, he has moved since then and his new place blows this setup away. You wont go wrong checking out more of his stuff.
Guitar player is from UK name Rabea pronounced Ru-Be-uh . Leo is one insanely talented guy. He has fun and doesn't take things too seriously. He is one of the greatest channels ever!
Hannah Boulton is one of my all time favorite vocalist. Really enjoy her vocals in her group Bledig. It’s a bit of a piano jazzy sound. She’s a beaut as well. This video was done at Leo’s old studio. He has a much, MUCH larger one now. Rabea is a heck of a talent as well. He’s been in a few bands as well as part of the Andertons Music channel (they are a music shop). Hannah is his (Rabea’s) girlfriend (I assume they are still together). This is my favorite cover from Leo though. His Adele cover might be second best.
Leo did an amazing acoustic cover of "Play That Funky Music"...so good and the video to go with it...kids in a dance studio actually having fun...so good.
He uses Toontrack to program most of his drums for these tracks. He does do some drumming, and plays for the video, but the recorded tracks are usually programmed as he has said in interviews and his earlier tutorial videos.

He doesn't have his own cruise, but has been invited to perform on the ShipRocked tour previously, which leaves out of Galveston each year. You should check out his cover of Thriller from that cruise. His Bring the Noise cover with Hyro the Hero was good in my opinion as well (and was filmed during Galveston Mardi Gras).

63-year old metal head here. Nice to see your reactions. Rabea (Ra-bee-ah) is a British guitarist from Yorkshire originally, now in Brighton. He is literally my favourite guitarist on the planet. He plays in Toska, a prog metal 3-piece band with no singer. I literally travel from Toronto to the UK to see Toska - you need to react to Toska. Hannah is Rabea’s spouse, and she sings in a jazz band called Bledig.
Say it with me, Rah-Bee-Uh. He’s one of the best modern players in the world. Check out his bands Toska and Dorje.

Welcome to Leo's world! I've seen most of his stuff and what brought me to his channel originally was Hello from Adele. I really dig "Man Of Constant Sorrow"...but really anything he does has an awesome metal breakdown in the middle that kicks every songs ass.
Every single person I've ever seen listen to this song for the first time immediately smiles as soon as Hannah starts singing. It's inevitable. And I LOVE it.

For clarification. his band does not have a rock cruise. He joins a rock cruise solo for the last few years as a guest (2020 was canceled) . Having met him a few times, I can say he is super chill and cool in RL.

I know it's a year old but interesting thing I noticed. Leo is playing a Chapman Guitar. Rob Chapman is the owner of those. He also started a band named Djore (SP). Rebea is the lead guitarist for them.

Leo covers every type of music from 'The devil went down to Georgia' to 'Bad boys - the cops theme' even Disney tunes from Frozen. His video's are always a blast he loves to get dressed up and they just make you smile.
If you think this setup is cool, he has moved since then and his new place blows this setup away. You wont go wrong checking out more of his stuff.
Guitar player is from UK name Rabea pronounced Ru-Be-uh . Leo is one insanely talented guy. He has fun and doesn't take things too seriously. He is one of the greatest channels ever!

Hannah Boulton is one of my all time favorite vocalist. Really enjoy her vocals in her group Bledig. It’s a bit of a piano jazzy sound. She’s a beaut as well.
This video was done at Leo’s old studio. He has a much, MUCH larger one now. Rabea is a heck of a talent as well. He’s been in a few bands as well as part of the Andertons Music channel (they are a music shop). Hannah is his (Rabea’s) girlfriend (I assume they are still together). This is my favorite cover from Leo though. His Adele cover might be second best.
I think since you liked the outro, you should check out Leo’s cover of “Carry On Wayward Son”. Really shows off Leo’s humor, but rocks too.
Leo did an amazing acoustic cover of "Play That Funky Music"...so good and the video to go with it...kids in a dance studio actually having fun...so good.
One HELL of a musician. Been listening to his shit for years. He has redone so many songs at this point. You could watch his videos for weeks.
He uses Toontrack to program most of his drums for these tracks. He does do some drumming, and plays for the video, but the recorded tracks are usually programmed as he has said in interviews and his earlier tutorial videos.

He doesn't have his own cruise, but has been invited to perform on the ShipRocked tour previously, which leaves out of Galveston each year. You should check out his cover of Thriller from that cruise. His Bring the Noise cover with Hyro the Hero was good in my opinion as well (and was filmed during Galveston Mardi Gras).
