- Chelsea and Germany goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger sits down with Lynsey Hooper for a conversation about finding out her thyroid cancer had returned a few days before the Euro 2022 final.

She has made a return to the pitch and played in both WSL & champions league matches and was on the squad for the world cup (but didn't play any matches). Her performance during the penalty shoot out against Lyon in the champions league saw her win the "player of the match" award.
BUT her performance against arsenal this WSL season (23/24) was poor. Since this poor performance, Berger has not been fielded again by coach Emma Hayes.
In the Olympic tournament, Ann Katrin Berger was the number one goalkeeper for Team Germany, and they have just won the bronze medal match, thanks to a brilliant last minute penalty save by her. I am so, so happy for her.
