I was working a walk in direct fire Trane RTU today. The motor for the blower is on a VFD. The motor was producing stray voltage which was putting cracks on the blower shaft it turns, and damaging the bearings for the blower shaft. I don’t understand how the stray voltage is making its way up to the blower shaft it turns and damaging the bearings and damaging the blower shaft.
